40th party, booked space for 14. Given a table for 8, comfy. Now this may be to your tastes but the banging nightclubesk music is really not helpful for a chat, which is probably why half the customers are in the street.

Massively gone down hill. Ignored at the bar regularly, rude staff, no logic to who gets served. Took over 20 mins to get 2 drinks earlier whilst others rock up and get served straight away. They also now add 12.5% service charge to orders at the bar making 3 pints over £25, they don't tell you about this and its very dishonest. Please change hands and get Harrilds back to what it used to be.

Amazing place, great food and drinks selection. There is a hidden gem in the basement of the place called 5cc which serve amazing cocktails. The staff are always friendly and happy to serve. If you're a whiskey connoisseur, then Iain can help you out. There is a vast range of whiskeys here. This place has never disappointed!

🚇 Farringdon 🍺 £6.70 Madri An Historical Building of London’s Printing Past. Harrild & Sons is located just south of Holborn Viaduct where the City of London meets Holborn. The nearest Tube stations are Farringdon and Blackfriars, both are a five minute walk away. This pub is located in The Fleet Works Building which was built in 1886. This building was the former home of Harrild & Sons printing machinery works and is Grade II listed. Robert Harrild was a famous printer of the early 19th century, his company ceased trading in 1949. This is a spacious high ceiling pub that has a main bar and a cocktail bar on the lower floor. There decor consists of a bare boarded floor running throughout, lots of exposed brickwork and some interesting artwork. At the back of the bar is a smart dining area which has an atrium above. The servery is eye catching and had solid oak panels, beautiful pendants above and a copper counter. The beer selection was pretty good and offered a choice from local London breweries like @twotribesbrew and @signaturebrew plus premium continental favourites. I decided on a pint of Madri, my pint was great, price point was a bit top heavy. There is a Pub Grub food menu available with an emphasis on burgers, Fish & Chips costs £16.50. We arrived around 1pm on a Friday lunchtime on a warm September day. The pub was fairly quiet with a group of lads on a crawl plus a few catching some rays out the front. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed before the afterwork crowd rush later that day. The service was spot on, the chap who served us was welcoming and friendly. With the exception of the buildings around Holborn Viaduct and the currently closed Hoop & Grapes, this building is the only piece of Victorian architecture left on this street. @harrildandsons offers a relaxing haven away from all the concrete and glass that now dominates the local landscape. This maybe more Bar than Pub but either way, we really enjoyed our visit here. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 29.09.23

Great Whiskey haunt with a 1920's speakeasy design. Great décor, good selection of Whiskey and cocktails. Nice and quiet downstairs (far too busy and nosy upstairs unless you like that sort of thing). But...expect very slow service; it's never any different and I go there regularly! But if you enjoy sloooow drinking it's perfect.

This place a real gem. Like many of the 5CC bars, this is located below a very vibrant and busy pub, however the bar itself is dark, secluded and adorned with alcove like table areas. The décor (including the fantastic copper surface style bar) is well chosen, the bar staff friendly and the drinks very tasty. To top that off, the menu has four full pages of whiskeys to choose from including many of my own favourites. This is definitely one to recommend.

Great cocktail bar, it's the downstairs bar of Harrild and sons. Perfect for cocktails, food and group events. They have good music later in the week as well. Staff are really friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gun evening.

I visited with my friend and his mother. We had burgers and a couple of drinks. Service was both quick and good. Bartender recommended me a nice beer i had never tried before. And the smash burger was smashing

Came in this evening after a long time as it wasn't our favourite bar before, but lots of new faces, all very friendly and also the place seems a bit more looked after. The manager took some time to shortly talk to us about potential future bookings. Good selection of beers on tap, it was a bit of a wait for the drinks but the bar was busy so was understandable. Definitely our new local for after work.

Lovely atmosphere, good nibbles, nice staff (who were run off their feet). Would have been a 5-star review, but they were out of key ingredients for the cocktail specials. Recommend!

We had some great service at the bar downstairs but oh my god is it hot down there. So sticky its actually grim, music could do with an update too.

Really good fish & chips and a nice cheeky half of cider - my friend enjoyed his chicken burger. The manager gave me a tour of the building, so much history and a very interesting basement!

Went for lunch today, great service by Johnny was very attentive and made sure we were served promptly. It’s a big venue but very good asset to the team. 2nd time here. I had the double smash burger which I prefer to the flat iron steak (the steak was abit chewy and the chips were undercooked on my first visit) glad I gave this place another go ☺️ good go to and close to my workplace for lunch! Had a nice bottle of Malbec

Really nice venue. Quite spacious considering how it appears from the outside. Staff were attentive and friendly. Good outdoor area at the back.

Booked the downstairs bar for a private lunch/drinks and everyone really enjoyed it - food was excellent and despite being a large group we were given full range of menu to pre order from. Thanks to Khy for assisting with arrangements and to Johnny and team for looking after us on the day.

Such good service here, staff are so friendly and warm for a central London pub, food is delicious and they have the best mulled wine too!

Awful rude and aggressive staff. Kitchen shut 3 hours early, hardly any beer available & what was tasted off.

  • 3/5 Pablo Costa T. 5 years ago on Google
It's the typical British pub with a nice under-stairs area. It's very busy in after office hours because it's in the City of London.

If you are trying to host an event here, don't. Our company booked our Christmas party here. It was poorly organised and understaffed. It took ages for the food to be served, and the food was bad. It was freezing cold as well.

Great bar with a good selection of drinks upstairs and a nice cocktail bar downstairs. Only issues is that it is always too busy and cramped

Really nice place to go for drinks. I went a few years ago and enjoyed myself then too. This time we had a few cocktails and some snacks. Service from staff was excellent. I would definitely go back.

Noisy, expensive, poor selection of beers. Asked manager to turn very loud music down for our large group of 50 people but he didn't, even after half an hour. He was also bolshy with a member of the group about a food order. Zero stars on all counts.

Nice pub. Open and airy atmosphere. Polite staff and decent food. Fish and chips was decent. As was the cold fresh beer.

Very trendy bar with a great atmosphere. Friendly bar tender was happy to make any classic cocktail we asked for as their cocktail room was closed. Will definitely visit again!

Well, regular pub with rather small selection of lagers/beers. Seems like you either like IPA or tough luck. They also have cocktails but I have not tried them.

Gonzo surprised us with the most delicious and unexpected cocktails, in particular based on mezcal and the pure sunshine that he brings. 10/10, would recommend to friend

Very popular pub. Unfortunately the service suffers on a busy evening and it took a while to get my pint. The beer selection used to be very good but these days it's quite pedestrian. Best time to visit is lunchtime, much quieter and the food is pretty good.

Large Pub located on Farringdon road. On summer nights is too noisy and smelled badly because of exhausts of the traffic. I really liked the Pictures on the walls. But again, close Farringdon to cars first.

Wow. Just awful. Popped in hoping to secure a place for a small group of clients to have a quick drink and round up an event. My client had hoped to use The Fable but they were rammed and so couldn't take the booking, but were lovely and helpful. Client suggested trying the Harrid so I dropped in. The door was closed, just the manager and barman there. I honestly thought the place was closed. I walked up yo the bar with the intention of buying a drink and stopping for something to eat when the manager interrupted me and told me she was in charge. She told me that the bar was booked out days in advance and she wasn't able to help. That is an understatement. Her aggressive tone and unhelpful manner instantly turned me off. She honestly couldn't have been less welcoming. I couldn't get out of there quick enough and I won't be back. I recommend thousands of clients to venues all over London. But this one just blew it's chance forever. Truly the worst experience I've ever had in any bar anywhere in the world.

Busy on a Thursday. Downstairs has great vibes, less corporate than upstairs. A chill atmosphere in the middle of London. The prison architecture was weird

Was taken care of by the lovely Michelangelo, he was my bartender and made all my cocktails perfectly, even the annoying changes I would make to the drinks. Overall lovely place and lovely people!

This pub is typical for after work drinks and yes, that is pretty much, most of the clientell. It is clean, spacious and has a good ambience. For all those smokers out there, they have an outdoor back area. The staff are friendly enough and efficient. This is a regular venue for me and my colleagues and I would recommend any time of the week.

Great place to hold Parties or any other kind of function at, I had never been there before but my nephew had his wedding party there yesterday and I was extremely impressed with the venue and all the staff there were absolutely brilliant and made everyone feel at home as soon as we entered the building. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have an enjoyable experience.

Don't get the chance to go out in London like I used to but did manage an evening out with my wife recently and stopped off in The Harrild for some food and drinks. Didn't get to try any of the cocktails but did promise to come back and sample one closer to Christmas. The staff were friendly and professional and both meals were very tasty. Thanks very much for the attention and making the evening enjoyable for both of us.

Had an amazing night at Harrild and sons. Gonzo as a bartender helped make our night! Made us the best cocktails I have had since 2019 as well as being the friendliest bartender I have met up till now. Every time I come here with our friends make sure to recommend to all my friends to order his homes made cocktails, would recommend 100%! Thank you again!
