I went here as I wanted something to eat and they serve Pieminister pies here. The location is easy to find, just off Soho Square. When I arrived I received a warm welcome and very helpful staff. The food was lovely and hot and well presented. Will go again when I'm next in London.

A lovely little pub in the heart of Soho. Its relitively small environs can get a little crowded at times, but this is mitigated by the fact that, in clement weather, you can also stand outside whilst sipping your pint. Getting to the gents toilets is a bit of a mission if you're above average height. Just make sure you duck as you go downstairs to reach the toilets. No such issues with the women's lavatories, which are on the same floor as the main bar. It also has a nice upstairs room for private functions. I personally enjoyed being there for a birthday party a few years ago. It's great as a place to stop for a pint or two before heading off elsewhere or as somewhere to spend an afternoon or evening.

I've never dined here, but often nip in for a quick pint or glass of wine. Its just a lovely little Soho corner pub - I was going to say a one-room pub, but there is actually some more space upstairs ... though no bar up there. Friendly staff, a couple of good cask ales, a nice range of wines by the glass, and the usual plethora of foreign-sounding lagers that are probably made on an industrial estate in Sheffield or wherever. Very close to Oxford St., and the New Dean St. exit from the Elizabeth Line at Tottenham Court Rd. underground station. Well worth a visit.

When it comes to pies, I can’t say I’m a big fan. They’re usually a bit too heavy on the pastry side for my liking. But the pie’s at the Nellie Dean were by far some of the best I’ve had. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing, think traditional London pub and the staff are easy going and friendly. Firstly you get to choose your pie and they have got a pretty good selection including traditional favourites like steak and ale and chicken and mushroom, but there’s also some interesting combinations inspired by Mexican flavours and even seasonal favourites like a Rudolph pie for Christmas. You then get to choose from a range of sides like peas and mash and chips and of course a lovely gravy to pour all over. We opted for a steak and ale pie and a chicken and mushroom with a side of gravy and fired onions and some cheese. What we loved about he pies were the texture of the pastry which was a little crunch but overall soft and light as if it had been prepared fresh and not too think or doughy. And then the filling was delicious as the meat used was good quality, tasting flavourful without being too heavy and overpowering in the pie as a whole. We washed the food down with a few ales from local breweries and had a great lunch to set us for the day and night ahead. So if you’re stuck for good local food and want to try a great pie you should try the Nellie Dean.

I've always really enjoyed this little pub. It's had some changes and refurbs over the years but has retained character and a homely feel. Friendly staff, three cask ales on my last visit, and nice wines too. It's a fun place to go with friends, a partner, or just to chill out on your own with a book or newspaper.

Nice pub, good service, pieminster pies are okay but I had better, lacked a little bit of flavour on the steak and ale...and also there is no steak and kidney which I thought was a standard pie.

A really lovely pub - very traditional in looks and appearance, complete with basement toilets! Good range of beers. The pies are excellent, but… they really shouldn’t be served on top of the mash - doesn’t do either of them any favours! Lovely friendly bar staff too.

Nice traditional pub tho security is suspicious of any person looking different! Other than that good busy atmosphere.

Really enjoyed this Jackie and Hyde pub. During the day a quiet sophisticated pub serving pies and mash. Then at 5pm the bouncer comes on and the madness begins. Pie and mash I had two and they get an 8/10. Ask for extra mash portions are not huge. No coffee on offer either. All in all a good experience and would go back

Nice pub just off Oxford Street, in the Great of Soho. Music not too intrusive, and nice spot to watch the world go by for an hour or so.

One of the barmaids told us that they had a booking that needed 2 tables and asked if we could move to another table. We were moved to worse seats and this booking was for the barmaid herself and a group of her friends. We were lied to and taken for fools, disgraceful attitude and service. The bouncer also threatened my friend when he walked out the open side door to take a call. We appreciate now there was a sign on the side door to use the other door but when it’s propped open it’s not very visible, certainly doesn’t merit a threat of expulsion. This was a 3-6 pm pub visit so definitely not late or rowdy. Won’t be going any more

Great pub the food is amazing ( so my husband says , unfortunately I am gluten intolerant and they had removed the fish pie to add Christmas selections so there was nothing for me to eat) all different types of pies. A great vibe and snug pub with eating upstairs. All the staff were realyl friendly and helpful.

A quirky corner street boozer in the heart of Soho. Lovely staff with a welcome. Good variety of beers with plenty of keg and a few casks for those who like their beer in the true English style. Pies are on the menu for anyone hungry. A lovely place for a pleasant pint.

Handsome bartender called Oscar works there, had a lovely evening there talking to him about the modern political structure of the Middle East and the fall of the Byzantine Empire. He was so sweet, thoughtful and caring, even cried with me when I talked about my guinea pig's recent death. Would recommend.

Solid pub for after work drinks! Thursday is the new Friday. Not sure about food. Don’t think they even do it but might be wrong. The vibe was great as any normal British pub would be in an evening.

My friend had a beer spilled on them by the bartender and the bartender tried to blame her for what was obviously their mistake. Shame because I liked the place up up until then but I won't be back anytime soon after this.

Came here for a good old pie. I have a high standard in meat pies coming Australia. But this meat pie was fantastic almost rivalled the best meat pies down under.

This was one of the few pubs open late at night, so we popped in for a pint of Guinness. We sat by the corner of the bar, and enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere.
