You can check my profile, I am not a harsh reviewer, but this place was a real let down and I felt ripped off. We visited here based on the good reviews over the last few years. Unfortunately, this was a mistake. I'm not sure if the place has changed owners or if it has just gone downhill, but it was probably the worst pub I've been to in at least a year. Neither of us finished our food because the meals were not just poor quality but actively tasted bad and genuinely looked like it was fresh out of an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. Staff did not check on us, just sat on their phones at the bar - but I do not blame them, I would be embarrassed to ask customers how things were with food this bad. I am almost certain this is the fault of poor management and not the staff. In such an affluent and historic area, you are spoilt for choice - there are plenty of lovely pubs with great food in Westminster offering the same price point.

Went to a 60th b/d celebration in the function room upstairs. Decent space. The host plugged their IPhone into the sound system for ambient music. Songs were good, sound system poor. Pub downstairs was quiet and relaxing. Overall a decent place.

Slightly off the beaten track means for a quieter weekday afternoon drink, meal and chat. A large pub with friendly staff and a very tasty vegan burger/chips.

Solid pub. Nice, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Decent to watch football; saw an Italian crying after Milan lost to Naples which was amusing 😂 Food stopped around 9pm

Simple and satisfying food – that's what you'll get at this pub. It's not fancy, but it's just good. Perfect for when you want a tasty bite without any fuss.

Visiting London we happened across this bar, which was the perfect place for a lunch stop. Not too busy, was a great spot to bring the kids. Very accommodating and friendly guys behind the bar, definitely worth stopping in past if you’re in the area.

Went recently after work Nice enough bar and vibe. Food all hot and edible. Bar service let them down. One person serving while other staff member just cuts limes into containers ( to add to the ample supply already in fridge). This is while 6 plus people waited to be served. Staff hadn't a clue who was next. Neither had a smile or could poor a Guinness. Shame.

Nice city pub, not too crowded after work hours like some of the other pubs aroung here. Can chat without having to shout. Pleasant, dimly lit, conversational atmosphere. Worth a visit.

Been twice. Soul-less, sadly. Lovely area of London, and then you get a pub like this where the staff just don't care enough (pubs live and die by the quality of their staff) and everything's too slow and it becomes an imitation of a good pub. The place needs buying, destroying and re-making. Then populate it with staff who love pubs and the pubbers.

The Sunday Roast sounded tempting but was a disappointment. 2 slices of well cooked beef were presented atop a mound of chard. Concealed at the bottom ofvtge chard were 3 warm potato pieces which tasted old and possibly "AuntbBessies"! A single strip of a carrot lay to one side and a scattering of shitake mushrooms adorned the top. A Yorkshire pudding languished to one side. The entire serving sat in a moat of tepid gravy. Not really worth the £18 imho. I wondered if the menu boast of "All the trimmings" only covered the mushrooms. There certainly was nothing else. I felt disappointed.

Popped in for food when walking through the area. It was very quiet and the server was friendly. Got the pie, which was ok and the parsley sauce it came with was amazing. They had high chairs for children.

Wirklich toller Laden, sehr freundliches Personal. Es werden gute Empfehlungen ausgesprochen. Das Essen ist wirklich großartig! Preise sind total okay. Der Laden wirkt gemütlich und unaufgeregt.

I came here after playing a concert at St. John's, Smith Square, with a group of professional friends and was treated with something verging on contempt by the supervisor in charge, after ordering a drink after 10.30 on a Saturday - despite the website saying the pub was open til 12, and the group having bought two rounds already. She was so rude that I made a comment about it to her, something that I wouldn't normally do. Really disappointing.

Large street corner pub with plenty of seating outside. Good range of beer, I had the Doom Bar which was in good condition. Nice food selection, I tried their burger which was larger than I was expecting. The chips were nicely done. Not particularly cheap but good quality.

Poor customer service, syrup had gone on Pepsi didn’t want to replace. When he did he filled glass with ice to ensure minimal Pepsi was used. Would not recommend. Shocking rude service!!

Food is really bad, fish didn't taste very fresh, batter was awful. Wouldn't be surprised if it was frozen. Looks nice enough if you're there for drinks.

A lively pub full of mostly young folks and locals. I was on my own and went alone for dinner (supper? The evening meal.) At 7:30pm on a Tuesday, I was lucky to find a seat, as it was quite busy, but everyone was just drinking and chatting rather than eating. It was festive and lovely but even by the time I'd finished my meal, I think I was the only person present consuming non-liquid calories. It was a little loud and lively, but I imagine it can be cozy when it's not so busy. The bartender was nice and helped me spot a chair as it was opening. I ordered the vegetarian (leek, courgette) pie and mash which comes with a lovely green sauce and cabbage. It was good, though the pie filling was very wet and squishy, which caused a bit of a soggy bottom (gratefully, Paul and Prue were not present to judge.) It was flavorful, though, and I enjoyed it.

Walked in for a quick bite in the evening with our kids. Burgers were great. Good choice of ales. Waiters were friendly and attentive. You have to order in the bar. Terrace was crowded but inside empty, probably due to nice warm weather. Inside its air-conditioning.

Just popped in for a drink and a rest so didn't try any of the food. Spacious with lots of standing room; seats and tables are along the windows or at the back of the pub. Multiple screens for viewing live sports. Background music is on the loud side. Staff were okay,

Good staff given how crazy it can get sometimes! The chips are delicious and you never have to wait longer than 15 minutes! Lots of space to stand outside, cosy inside. The ales are great too! They even do a gluten-free beer

A nice pub! I was on a day visit from Yorkshire on one of the hottest days of the year. After a day in a badly ventilated room, my visit to the Barley Mow started with an incredible blast of cool air when I walked in, followed by smiling staff and a nice bottle of ginger beer with ice. Just what I needed before braving the stifling underground!! A nice space, friendly, welcoming and clean. Would recommend for sure.

Great food at pretty decent prices for it's location in London. It's a little off the main path so it wasent jammed full of people but the interior and exterior were very pleasant and welcoming. I had the fish and chips with marshy pees. It was very pretty large portions and fresh. Plenty of beer and football as well, surprising right!?

It's a busy after-work pub during the week and much quieter on a Saturday but not dead. Good range of beer to keep most people happy. Nice staff and decent surroundings. I haven't eaten there but food looks good. Would have earned a solid 4 stars but £6 a pint for something ordinary is still something I'm not happy with. (Without having to support Mr Brexit at Wetherspoons there are still a few places left in central London where they've not made the jump from £5 to £6 so it can be done!).

Good well kept beer (I had the pale ale, but can't remember the name!), and very friendly bar staff. Prices reasonable, for London. I didn't eat so can't comment on food.

It's too noisy: it gets very busy after work but they still play loud music so people have to yell. And they dim the lights... For atmosphere? Around this area there are not many good pubs for after work drinks so people squash into here. Also tends to smell a bit like toilet bleach in some areas You can book tables which is a plus..

Went here for the first time for supper. Great service, great staff. The views of of the rear are right on the Thames. Spectacular. We will return for sure.
