Decided to pop in for a meal but got so much more. The food was delicious and the waitress made one feel so at home and comfortable that I wish we stayed close so we could visit more often. If you ever find yourself driving through George and hungry, this is definitely a place to dine at.

What an amazing experience. The service is exceptional. As soon as you walk through the door they make you feel at home. The food is equally as amazing. Their pizzas are delicious and i would 100% recommend to go and enjoy an evening here.

Outstanding dinner! Everything was delicious! Brie and bacon starter with a filo pastry, Carbonara was creamy and the absolute winner was their specialty Bistecco Marsala! To die for, perfectly done meet with those porcini mashrooms in a rich reduced rissotto.

I know it's Italian, but my steak was bland and a little dry, even when I ordered it medium rare. But good service and an extensive menu.

A friend and I wanted a small lunch and both got the Brie. It is baked to perfection and just what we needed. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices.

What a wonderful experience, almost as if we went to Italy and came back.

Brilliant service, world class food

A great little restaurant with an Italian theme. Probably the oldest restaurant in George that is still trading. Best place for pasta and pizza. Food is always good an service is always friendly and efficient. No outside seating.although there is seating on the veranda that is enclosed when weather is bad. Very popular. Make a booking or turn up early.

One of those pleasant eating experiences you will not find at the local mall franchise restaurants. Visit the for eating out experience that will have you come back for more! Friendly service and excellent food! Didn't take pictures, would just spoil the atmosphere. Go experience it yourselves.

Very food food and service...a bit pricey

EXTREMELY RUDE floor manager. The menu is about 3 back to back pages of different items which is just far too much. When you have so many options it’s hard to get all your food to taste good. The Tuna steak looked grey and was probably cooked frozen and thus was very watery.

Margi is just a delightful human being. Can't wait to try a pizza. I hope they are as good as Cactus. #personalbenchmark

We had a wondeful meal at La Capannina. We had great Putanesca pasta for dinner and an excellent hot fudge chocolate cake for dessert. High quality food, lovely service and friendly family atmosphere.

I love this place, the food is always brilliant, service is great and the prices more that fit what you get. Great place just for you and the wife/girlfriend to just relax and have a wonderful dinner.

We had a surprise birthday party with a group of 18 people; the service and food was simply outstanding. They allow BYO with a modest corkage fee; all in all an evening to remember. And we will definitely be back again. Thank you !

Beautiful setting, gorgeous pizza and very accommodating staff. The atmosphere is always lively and fun. Perfect for both a date and a family outing. Highly recommend their margarita pizza, it’s plain and simple in a very Italian way, which is the best way possible.

The venue is great. No problem with friendly service. My wife & I had great expectations. However, the food was not that tasty. My garlic mussels were a little soft, not firm. I did not finish my Veal Toscana which was today's special. Somehow not that tasty. My wife's veg Cannelloni was not tasty either. The filling was not integrated and had lumps of tasteless spinach.

Our absolute favourite restaurant in George. When ever we are this side, La Capannina always makes it feel like we are home. From starters, to desserts, from the wonderful waitrons to the chef - everything is perfect! You cannot go wrong coming here. A must visit!

I don’t like posting negative reviews. But for the first time ever, I took my gran 97yrs old for a break from reality and probably last time to a restaurant. We were the first customers and last served after the restaurant filled out. Sad that margin was the be all and end all. I feel a moral disappointment with this one. Manager tried to reason all excuses, but nothing can excuse this indecency

Wonderful spot for dinner on the terrace. Had the snails as starter, followed by the mushroom risotto and then the creme brulee. All were very good.

I sent a private email 02 December regarding meat in our takeaway vegetarian dish. 12 days later and I still haven’t heard back from them. Here is what I sent them: To whom it may concern, My wife and I have been supporters of La Capannina for some time now. It is for this reason that I am writing this mail instead of posting a review on a public forum. Tonight we ordered our usual vegetarian takeaway options of Pasta Verde & Ravioli Malanzane. Unfortunately, in the Pasta Verde, we found pieces of chicken. I don’t think it was a mistake on the waitress’ part as they were small pieces, not as much as one would expect in a meat dish. I am quite disappointed and feel disrespected. My wife and I choose not to eat meat, but we do not expect anyone to agree with our decisions, nor do we force our choices on others. However, when a paying customer requests a vegetarian dish, care should be taken to ensure that that is what is delivered. My aim with writing this mail is not to gain anything, but rather to advise and warn that these type of business practices may harm you in the long run. We love your food and want to see your business thriving for years to come.

PATHETIC.I ordered a pasta and got the wrong dish. I was then told it would take 20 minutes to rectify .My son ordered a pizza with meat and vegetables completely out of porportion and burnt crust .The service was also very rude.Will never come back again.

Another lovely meal at La Capannina, this particular evening I had the Hitman Frankie pizza. The thin crisp base is wonderful and only the freshest ingredients are used. I have had the pleasure of working my way through the menu with highlights including veal as well as the Chicken Parmagiano. Thank you to the staff for making a business traveler feeling at home. Book to avoid dissapointment.

Whenever we visit George from Somerset West we never skip La Campannina. The food, friendly waiters and ambiance is a wonner. We have never been disappointed.
