I have had a few green/red Thai curries around George or Garden Route area and Krua Thai has the best flavour in my opinion. Serving size is massive.

We had Tom Yum Soup and Red Curry, which were both tasty and authentic. The food was well priced and the portions generous. The host was also attentive and prompt. Good place for a good meal around the area.

Probably my 2024 food experience of the year. A interesting location, no liquor license and very typical Thai decorations….but wow the food is incredible. Big portions and very tasty. Such an experience. Will probably try to make another booking tomorrow.

Drove from Sedgefield to try this out which was about a 40km drive on Saturday 13th January 2024 at about 6pm. It wasn’t busy at all. I waited to order at the counter with my wife and 3 toddlers for about 30 minutes. When I presume the owner got round to taken my order, he was all sorts, he kept on repeating my order, couldn’t write out my order on a paper and at some point scribbling on the table not on the paper, when I order something clearly on the menu, he screamed at me that it wasn’t on the menu- it was a harrowing experience. At some point the chef screamed at him for not seeming to be coherent. I couldn’t get to try out the food, I had to leave- the situation was one I never experienced, for 10 minutes he just couldn’t get a simple order. Whilst I am very empathetic to the situation of the gentleman- I wasted my time and petrol driving so far out and couldn’t try out this Thai food. I am sure the food is great but I couldn’t try it out due to poor service and the incoherence of the person taking orders.

Glorious Thai green curry ! Their portions are for the very hungry, the veggies are super fresh and crispy. Unlicenced .... take your own drink and get yourself to this absolutely delightful place.

Stay away. No service, rude owner/staff. We were the only persons there and received no service after helping our selves to a menu. ABSOLUTELY shocking. The response from the owner says it all! So if his "partner" does not shout at us "I'm busy" he turns it around to say we are in the wrong because we are impatient? Really? Not even an apology offered? Just proves the point STAY AWAY.

Good food worth visiting

Excellent food, and huge portions of really awesome Thai food. The gentleman serving us was a little hard to communicate with. He always seemed hurried. When we realised that we mistakenly ordered a non veg dish, he became defensive until we assured him that we made the mistake. He could have handled it better. The atmosphere is a little flat... but we all really enjoyed the huge portions and flavourful food.

To be honest. I don't think there's any other place in this world that can satisfy a hunger like Krua Thai. The food is something spectacular every single time. The portions are massive, and the prices are vert reasonable.

This restaurant serving authentic Thai food is a hidden gem in George. It is a go to place for a well priced meal with endless choices for just about everyone. Take your own wine and ice if you are being fair to Colin. A lovely tucked away little place in the middle of town so that driving a long distance is not an issue. Just love it. Try the noodles as a change from rice.

a very satisfying and warm takeaway meal. would strongly recommend the tom ka soup- more than enough to have as a meal with rice. soups & curries were a little on the sweet side and we felt that more spices could have been used, but that's probably personal perferance. otherwise, great find!

They never have a table available, not because they are busy but because always seem to have a problem. Either with being under staffed or they ran out of critical products. Don't set yourself up for failure.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! We were served a meal containing eggs even when the waiter/owner was told at least three times before that my wife was allergic to eggs. After waiting for the egg laden dish for over 30 minutes, I took the plate to the counter and asked for a do over, this time without eggs. The waiter/owner argued that his chef could not cook the meal without eggs. He wanted my wife to order something else. How hard is it to just exclude the eggs in the cooking process. He finally agreed to exclude the eggs in the next meal that then took another 30+ minutes to receive. When he delivered the now much overdue meal to our table, he said: "We generally don't cook for vegans". This was not mentioned by him or his menu and he clearly understood that my wife was allergic to eggs and her meal was not to contain them (he repeated such back to us when initially confirming our orders). We will never be eating here again and we would have to warn any with food allergies and vegans that you could easily be in for a similar or worse experience. By the way, the chicken pad thai I had was meh 😒 at best, as we're the undercooked rice noodles my wife finally received.

Food is excellent, we always do takeaways, the restaurant theme is mixed and always has patrons dining.

Second time we visit for some delicious Thai meals. The meals are made fresh while you wait. No franchise fast-food here. I do have respect for different personal beliefs and orientations. However I need to caution parents with young children. Some of the artworks might be disturbing. But preferences aside this is an excelent place to have Thai foods. Skip the franchise shops and buy here!

The food is amazing. Honestly the best food in town. Dont go in expecting to be served like a prince and waited on hand and foot, bring a bottle of wine, order some tempura chicken as a starter while the chefs prepares your delicious meal, and enjoy.
