It was absolutely terrible! Service was the worst I have ever had. Mushroom sauce was watery and milky. The plate was dirty. The waiter disappeared,only to appear once we were leaving. Waiters find it appropriate to use foul language at reception. Never bothered to attend to our drinks order. What a waste of time and money.

If I could rate zero stars, this would be too high. On arrival, the booking we made three days prior, could not be found. We were then given a table opposite the ablution facilities. The dulcet tones of the toilet door continuous banging closed was horrendous. Luckily the mediocre starters arrived quite quickly as we were essentially ignored the entire evening by our waitress. When she eventually reappeared, we had to remind her that we were still waiting for our main course. When it finally arrived the waitress (who wasn't ours) had no clue what was on the plate. The proverbial icing on the cake was that the plate itself was hotter than the sinewy steak which was ice cold. Thanks for ruining our thirteen year wedding anniversary. You will have the pleasure of our hard earned money ever again! So long and thanks for all the fish 😡

The food was amazing! Service excellent! The staff are super friendly and accommodating, they ensure you are well taken care of and satisfied at all times. Loved the ambiance, fire place, candles and good vibes...not forgetting the breath taking view of Harold's Bay. I fell inlove with this quaint place. The outside set up is an entertaining paradise but due to it being very cold we opted to stay cozy inside.

Racism! Or it looks like racism in this place. We were the only black patrons. Got here without a reservation, looking around the tables, more than 50% were not occupied but we were told we could only sit inside; ok not an issue. A waiter gave us a table inside and never came back with the menus. After like 15 minutes and no one attending to us my husband got up to collect the menu himself! After that he went to collect the waiter so that we could place an order. The food took 40 minutes. I had line fish and chips husband had steak prawns and chips. The food is amazing, taste very great. Generous portions. The restaurant has great views of the ocean. Finished eating and sat for a couple more minutes before plates were collected. No one checked on us while eating, had to grab the salt and pepper from other tables. I would have given a 5 star if the service was at least just average because the food is really good. But there is no service!

We stayed here for a week in October 2023. Great views of the ocean and surrounding landscapes. The restaurant is located conveniently close to the units, with amazing food and prices. We ate there almost every evening and can honestly recommend them. The food was excellent!

Ordered the catch of the day which was kabeljou. The service was good and the food was better. Really a hidden treasure and worth a visit if you visiting George and surrounding area.

Service was average,not the best though. Our table was used as storage and packing for table next to us by waitress to serve fellow patrons. Bathrooms were terrible, dustbin overfull,floors filled with water. I reported to waitress,nothing was done. My fish was cold in the middle,salad was old. Don't know what the hype is about this place. Won't go again.

Made a turn as we were close by and we were welcomed into the restaurant despite them having been almost fully booked (peak season). We sat for a quick meal which was above average, specifically the burgers! The atmosphere was divine. Lovely staff and many friendly faces. Will definitely be back - a true gem!

Stunning view from the restaurant. Lovely live music on the Sunday I visited. Food was well presented and tasty. PLEASE clean the flower pot outside on the upstairs deck from smelly cigarette butts. The olive and balsamic bottle necks can also so with a good wipe every day

The food is good but a little bit pricey. But that is made up for by the view. This is the only restaurant in Herolds Bay. It also has a kiddies play area, small conference/wedding centre as well as B&B accommodation. This is an excellent venue to have a lunch/dinner. Most amazing atmosphere and view. Worth spending a sundowner!

Duttn's Cove has a magnificent view of the sea and beach at Herold's Bay and is excellent value for money! The restaurant there also has the beautiful view of the sea. Highly recommended!

This place is lovely and the food is quite good. The view is incredible and the staff are friendly. If you go to them when they are busy, expect the food to take a while but the surrounding makes up for that.

I was very very disappointed in Duttons Cove. Decided to take my family there, they come from Johannesburg. We were three people. Ordered drinks and starters. Firstly we ordered jalepino starters and calamari and snoek and sweet potato. We were only 3 people and decided we would order food and then the over priced starters arrived. One jelapino each. About 2 pieces of calamari each and flippen two snoek and sweet potato spring rolls. Knowing we are three people why would you not say, listen here is one extra spring roll because I know you are three people. But no. It was a big flippen joke that there are only two tiny tiny spring rolls in the plate. Jis a comment I heard from another patron at the same moment... Just because you are in Herolds Bay doesn't mean you deserve this kind of service or food. Way over priced for nothing. Truly sorry. Will not ever recommend Duttons Cove to anyone ever again.

Waited 30min for my starter after the rest of my party received theirs. My seared tuna main course was ice cold. It laid on top of old brown avo slices. Sent the cold tuna back and they reheated it and the old avo's in the microwave. Realy not great for a rather expensive dish. Bathrooms was very smelly with greatly overflowing dustbins (It was just before closing). That said, the view was great and the fish and calamari my wife ordered tasted great.

Our first visit since new management took over. Sat outside enjoying the beautiful views and experienced excellent food and top class service. Good Covid hygiene protocols . They even sanitize the salt and pepper as well as the tables after each use. Very enjoyable casual dining experience. We'll be back.

Little jem in Harolds baai. Perfect service, and food is great from sushi to pasta and burgers. You pay for what you get, and it's worth every penny. Service is a bit slow and inattentive. The mall is usually better but still the experience wasn't a pleasant one on our last visit.

We bought the worst food ever here as takeaway on Saturday. The chips were obviously re-heated, and stale, hard and burned at the ends. The fish was like cardboard - hard, dry and old and the calamari was so burned and rubbery, you could have used it as a bouncing ball. The worst part was that we had to throw it away, due to it being inedible. We called the manager, who promised a follow-up on Monday - which of course never happend. And it wasn't like they were busy when we ordered - the restaurant was completely empty - which we should have taken as a sign.

Nice setup and quiet due to corona. The food was okay and not great as the normal Ocean basket quality, but it was okay. Our bread rolls were soooo tiny and heated up in the microwave so it was like rubber, that was sad.

Clean and tidy waiters were presentable but not easy to communicate with. Food was good although the fish was a bit salty and like chewing on rubber . Further than that there are no other complaints.

Service wasn't bad but could be better, staff could be a bit more friendly and the place was very quiet. Other than that everything was okay.

Not only was our food delicious but they went above and made a special sushi platter for me that wasn't what I expected. It had cucumber, olives, cheese and various assortments that I absolutely loved! Our estimated time was also correct and they cleaned the card machine which is a covid 19 protocol you don't see everywhere. Can't wait to go back!

First time at this branch. Seated promptly and order was swiftly taken. Waiter was attentive and food served very quickly. Only reason why i give it 4 stars is because the long island ice tea I ordered tasted watered down and I could have rather just ordered a coke with lots of ice as that is what it tasted like. (Flat watery coke that had to much ice in it).

Had an awesome meal here after waiting for quite a while for someone to notice us. After tracking down the manager we were eventually served by an efficient and friendly young lady. Meal portions were more than adequate, food was well prepared and delicious and prices are reasonable. The view is spectacular!

We had an Amazing experience! Seafood and cheesecake to die for. One thing to note: we were sitting at the bottom and it was a bit uncomfortable to hear all the noise of people constantly moving chairs/tables upstairs(wooden floors).Noise was quite strong.

Had Some burgers today. Not impressed at all. Taste is so so, but worst of all, the burger buns and clearly pre frozen and defrosted. They were completely disintegrating and crumbling, leaving you with a pile of mess only a knife and fork can sort out. Such a shame, the setting however is pretty amazing.

Excellent restaurant. We went here for my grandfather's birthday. The food options were all amazing and everyone with a different order had food envy of each other. Not only is the food amazing but the views are exquisite. This is literally one of my favourite restaurants in the world and is a must see.

The Salmon was perfect, the Calamari was perfect and the Kudu steak was the most tender piece of steak ever tasted. Our waitress gave us excellent exceptional service and we will definitely be back.

This is a review of the restaurant, not hotel as we stayed in an Air B&B. We ate here on our first and last night of our holiday with 2 young kids (8 & 6) and I have to say it was just wonderful. First time inside as we managed to get a reservation. The best mussel pot I've ever had, not sure I was meant to but I finished the sauce too! You have to try it. Last night, after a week of braaing/red meat I felt like a veg of sorts and had the Pasta (butternut, olive, tomoto, pesto) and this too was delicious (huge portion). We sat outside and they turned on the outdoor heaters so even in the middle of winter (July) we enjoyed our dinner legs wrapped in their soft blankets. We'll go back there for sure on our next visit to Herold's Bay.
