Beautifully restored historic building with lots of ambience. Freshly made coffee, hot chocolate and pancakes. Staff is friendly and passionate about the place. Wonderful to see communities pull together to preserve heritage and to make it accessible for visitors. Well worth any detour.

What a fantastic find. Just off a 200m dirt road at the bottom of the Outeniqua Pass. The very best pancakes and coffee and an interesting "museum" within the Toll House. Great views and a perfect place to relax if hiking, mountain biking or driving the Montagu Pass.

Amazing experience! Delicious pancakes and coffee with condensed milk. Beautiful setting and interaction with Gerda who shared stories and history. She sang a poem for us and played the antique organs. 😍

This was our first visit to the Old Toll House. We were very impressed with the manner in which the historic building and surrounds have been restored and are maintained. Well done to all involved. The pancakes and coffee were great too. Ideal pitstop for cyclists and bikers.

The retired Tollhouse in the old historical Montagu Pass is worth a visit. Gerda Stolz and het team offers a historical talk on the Tollhouse, coffeea,(with condens milk)and freshly baked pancakes for a donation. These donations go towards the upkeep of the Tollhouse.

Beautiful place with spectacular views of the mountains and flora. A worthy cause, keep the local history alive. Ken and the ladies were very hospitable and they know their little Toll house inside and out. The Pancakes and coffee is well worth the trip.
