Love this hotel for its spacious rooms, beautiful garden, the peace and tranquility. The family suite is an absolute treat. Rooms overlooking the adjacent Golf Course has large balconies from where you can enjoy the view of the lush greens and gardens. Hotel has lovely breakfast options, lunches and dinners. Hope to enjoy the Spa with our next visit.

A really nice place to stay, the room staff made me a special welcome arrangement on my bed with a folded towel and flowers, Ikraam and his staff in the dining room is great, Thelma was very attentive and made sure my coffee cup stayed full.

Great hotel to stay at. Service was great. Thelma that assisted with breakfast was amazing and went all out to ensure we were well looked after when we ate breakfast. I was a bit annoyed that our room never had a bar fridge, and that's off-putting. What hotel bedroom don't have a bar fridge. However the service was great from the staff I must admit.

Loved our stay at King George Hotel Service is great. It was great coming back to a clean room, clean towels daily. We had the Breakfast Buffet which was excellent. All the staff are friendly. Would definitely recommend and visit again. The Hotel is also situated really well.

The George Room and Regency Hall are the ideal choice for meetings and conferences. The hotel offers a comfortable stay in the most beautiful rooms. The location deserves a bonus star and the staff is amazing. I would rate everything 5 stars, with the exception of food which I would rate 4 stars. However, the buffet and platters offer many options to suit everyone's taste buds.

It's the best hotel in the area with one exception (Fancourt) but the rooms are dated. Beds are old pillows flat carpets and furniture signs of wear and tear. The breakfast buffet was very limited. You can see it was once a grand hotel but it hasn't been maintained .

Customer service was top with friendly staff that is always ready to help. The rooms however is old and very dated. The towels are very old and torn at places. Due to the poor upkeep of the hotel will this be my last stay at this Hotel. Procard member, But the standard of the rooms is not a good fit for a Marriot hotel.

Off the normal track and stayed in one of the outside cottage rooms. Spacious and well kept. The TV remote was missing. Breakfast was the normal and nothing wow. Still a nice spot to stay for business in George.

The personnel is very friendly and will assist you any time of day. A special thanks to the waiters Sia, David, Thelma and Vuyo who is excellent with their service. The restaurant's food is of high quality and portions are very generous. Thank you for home away from home.

The stay was good. The rooms are massive, beds are comfortable, variety to choose at breakfast, thez a nice pool. However, there is no gym, the noise from other guests during breakfast was unbearable and air con was not heating up the room.

Service is excellent. Room can do with a little upgrading. But if you just want to relax and unwind, then this is the place. Welll situated and close to whatever you may need but remote enough to forget about the outside world. Sit on the veranda with a glass of wine or bubbly overlooking the golf course and let the stresses and strains of life float away with your imagination whilst letting yourself drift away in the peace and quiet. A definite Yes to stay. Safe and secure and totally worth it. Can't wait to come back again.

Wonderful place. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are lovely and well kept. The breakfast buffet and dinner are very nice and have a decent amount of variety. and whoever cooks the potatoes deserves a raise, these are the best potatoes I have ever had !!!!

Room was a fair size, although the water out of the taps had a brown tint to it, the 2 double beds were really uncomfortable, I mean really uncomfortable, and the pillows were...hmmmm. Room floors were filthy. A trip from the bathroom to the bed results in soiled feet. TV channel selection leaves a lot to be desired, so does the computer monitor sized TV. In fairness, the beef burger and sweet potato fries were amazing, and the staff friendliness is as expected. The room had a refrigerator which was operational, so that was helpful. They have back up power for load shedding, and the wifi is acceptable. No option for streaming your own Netflix accounts as the TV is ancient. Expected more from a Protea Marriott Hotel. This hotel is in serious need of a revamp, definitely not a 4 star experience. At best, 2 stars.

Beautiful scenery, especially having the golf course view. Spacious and clean rooms.

Very nice hotel.....I love Protea anyway, my preferred place to stay. The rooms here are outside the reception area, very big rooms, ample space, ample space to work and sit. Nice restaurant with great food. You are always warmly welcomed at Reception.

We love this hotel, it is comfortable, spotlessly clean, and the staff are truly lovely, friendly and helpful. Gorgeous setting, and to swim with the mountainous backdrop is just wonderful. The food also is excellent- very good choice of breakfast buffet. Can't wait to return!

The rooms had a very musty smell. There are no lifts, and we had to carry our heavy bags up the stairs. The overall experience was fair.

We are premium elite Marriott members we stay at this hotel once a year for around 4-5 days. This is the second year in a row where they haven’t given us our points for staying last year it took my husband like 4-5 months to sort it out. Besides that this years visit was horrible. The room was nice and the staff ok but it was so extremely loud in the hotel. Invest in some soft closing doors please. While we are loyal Marriott patrons we are seriously considering using a different brand for our George visits.

Protea King George never disappoints. The rooms and facilities are well maintained, with much effort going into repairs after Covid. The greatest strength of this hotel is the staff, who make an effort to get to know their guests. After your second visit, I guarantee that they will greet you by name! So let me thank by name, some of the team who made my last stay extra memorable : Andiswa, Sindiswe, Nelson, Siyabonga and Iekraam at the front desk, along with Thelma, Sisanda, Vuyokazi, Ngcebakazi in the restaurant. Thank you ! See you again soon.

I really like the set up of the rooms being in their own little cottage set-up. The staff is very friendly. And the food is good. Wasn't the biggest fan of the breakfast eggs but overall great

Beautiful ground and nice staff team but the place is really run down and should not be considered a 4-star hotel. I’m a loyal Marriott member and will always stay in a Marriott property due to its quality and comfort but this place is probably 25 years overdue for a facelift, it is not up to the standard of a Marriott. The photos online were very nice but the rooms are far from nice. Beware and would not recommend.

Stayed at the Protea for one night on a recent business trip to George for a conference. It was the perfect spot. Beautiful views and sunset from the massive terrace off my room. The staff was incredibly friendly and overall the stay was much nicer than the next few nights I spent at the Fancourt despite that being a much more expensive property. I would definitely stay at this Protea again...

Was really not a great experience. For the price one pays there's not even complimentary water in the room, towels were dirty and the shower didn't drain properly and had to ask for a TV remote, this should be standard if you want to callit a Hotel. Casino is great though.

Good hotel with good staff. Good central location on garden route You can access Mossalbay and cango caves I liked all staff but Mr. Anwil is a great person. He served us well and take care of us in the best way I am putting his pictures in review. Thanks Anwil and all staff for making our stay comfortable

The room was large with 2 queen beds and plenty space besides. En suite has bath and shower. Services was very good and meals were excellent, buffet style. The route to the entrance a bit convoluted and first tind is bit complicated. There are signs on the road though. All in all a positive experience.
