Beach house is a paradise in paradise the best place for a getaway in one of the most beautiful places in the world if you are looking for somewhere to stay while you plan your travels through South africa I strongly recommend you come and enjoy live music great food and world class hospitality.

This place is beautiful but that ‘owner’ lisa needs to watch how she talks to visitors when she’s been drinking. Even though being polite she seems to be unpleasant n uptight n stubborn no matter what. If you want to keep the vibe I believe she’s not in the right place Peace

What an incredibly beautiful place this was! We stayed in the shared dorm room downstairs, which had a stunning view of the beach. Half of the room was made up of glass doors, and I was fortunate enough to have my bed located right next to one. This allowed me to feel the ocean breeze, smell the salt in the air, and listen to the soothing sounds of the waves. While it could get a little chilly at times, it was never too cold to enjoy. Make sure to indulge in the delicious food options available at the facility, particularly the pizza which was outstanding. The staff were all incredibly friendly and hospitable, making our stay all the more enjoyable. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Steep path or alternative car drop off and parking access. High on a hill offers best Wilderness blue bay views. Well managed.

Great hostel with a view on the ocean ! If you go, ask to be in the big dorm on the second floor. The view is amazing ! They also have a pizza oven and some good food on the menu. They host a live music night on Thursday nights and it was very fun !

Very limited menu, although the pizzas were great, and the falafel platter was amazing with really good quality ingredients. Music was a viiiibe on Sunday afternoon, I travelled from JBay to experience this venue that i constantly hear about and it did not dissapoint.

Everything is absolutely beautiful and amazing about this place. They've got wonderful views and delicious food. Great and friendly service from staff. Rooms are very clean and well planned out. Not expensive to stay over either. Bar is a bit pricey but, that's not too bad when everything else is taken into consideration.

My 3rd time around - losing a bit of touch with the past experiences.. no hot water in the showers lol .. a lady put olive oil on the door hinges to stop the squeaking. Struggled with parking between the locals ..

The view is absolutely amazing but it was strange that they refused to light a fire outside on a very cold day even though a few people had asked and the food was not great. Although the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is nice.

This pristine beach is ideal for rejuvenating the soul. It's clean, ita quiet during off peak times, the bathrooms are clean too. It's close to amenities.

The view of the hostel was beautiful. Other than that, the stay was a bit disappointing: We booked the Cottage which was the most expensive room and not really worth the money. The bathroom door could not be closed, the room has aged already and smelled (probably because it was quite humid in there), the water in the shower came out trough three little rays instead of a prober shower. Apart from that the Wifi didn’t work properly through all the area. We needed to use our mobile data.

A friend and I came here on the way back to Cape Town. We got a private room for 2 that was very reasonably priced. Besides for the unreal views of the beach from the front of the restaurant which you can see in the photos, we were most impressed with the hospitality of the staff. It’s not often I’ve felt this welcome and cared for by accommodation staff. We played pool into the night with Watson and Lorenzo, and talked with Annie the owner over morning coffee. There is ample parking outside the hostel, and it’s a short walk or drive to the Wilderness town, which has tons of amazing restaurants. We went to Girls which was great. From the hostel you can walk down to the main beach in 5 minutes. Although close to the highway on the map, the building itself feels private and peaceful. Highly recommend this backpacker if passing through Wilderness and looking for a unique stay.

Spacious rooms and very comfortable. Stunning views of the ocean. Prices for accommodation very fairly priced. Nice pool table and outdoor bar with seating. Cappuccino was brilliant. Chicken mayo sandwich not so great. Definitely would return.

Great upmarket backpackers. We actually had my sister's wedding there too. Ceremony on the beach below, followed by a spit braai and dancing. Everyone slept over.

Wilderness Beach House a spot with a breathtaking view of Wilderness Beach. A fabulous spot to meet up with friends and relax with some good vibes on a Sunday afternoon.

Great place to hang out and do tours. Owner is super sweet and helpful and they have two amazing big dogs. The dorms are clean and comfy. You also meet locals and the crowd isn’t super young! We loved it there

Chilled-out here for the afternoon, and took in the beach views, relaxed atmosphere, and a pizza with drinks. The owner and staff were all great. Other guests cool and nice. I fellt like I was back in my youth. Nice place to rekindle ones spirit.

A favourite destination of mine. With an amazing view of the ocean, wood-fired pizza, and great music, this is a destination of choice for many travellers and locals alike. A prime spot unlike any other, I highly recommend staying here a night or two while travelling along the Garden Route.

Beautiful location on the beach and not too far from the town. Good atmosphere with a nice bar and restaurant. No curtain in the dorms so bright in the morning. A little more expensive than other backpackers in Wilderness but worth it.

Really loved our stay here during our roadtrip, very generous staff. The view is amazing and loads to do around the beach house. There is live music, a great kitchen and much more.

Lively, social backpackers with a bar and pizza oven. Fantastic view and very close to the beach. Stayed in a private room with en-suite, which was very convenient. The mattresses were very thin and worn in so sadly my back was rather sore the next morning. The sound of the ocean waves is so loud it drowns out most noise at night... Very calming. Sadly due to lockdown we could not go down to the beach, but we were able to see, smell and hear the ocean from the deck and from our room.

Stunning location overlooking the sea with the friendliest staff. Everyone there was incredibly helpful. Management went out of their way to help us with our rooms and to make sure we were as happy as possible. Will definitely be staying again!

Nice quint place over looking the beach

Run by a lovely family in Wilderness. Great beach views, lovely atmosphere, very chilled, can have pizza, toasties, chips. Bar well stocked. Backpackers are lovely. Well worth a visit

Excellent infrastructure. Regular price for the backpacker (about 220Rands per night per person). However, the WiFi is limited for 2 hours of usage per day, which can be a HUGE PROBLEM for hitchhikers. Moreover, the hostel has a small but very functional communal kitchen with a shared fridge, a stove, and a hot water supply. The hostel is very close to the beach, BUT the path to it is terrible (see the photos below)! At least when I went ( in February 2020 ), the only road to the hostel is made of sand (when rain complicates a lot to walk there), and the is NO LIGHT in this little street -after 20h, I couldn’t see a foot in front of me. The main stores in the city are about 10 minutes' walking distance, and it is good to know to take there is no Uber or whatever in the town. The Wilderness National parking is pretty far. I went there walking and took me a little bit less than 2 hours - and the road does not have sidewalks for pedestrians, so I definitely not recommend it. In conclusion, I would recommend this place if you want a place with a good view of the beach, next to the city centre, and you don’t bother to ask for a shuttle to go to the park. Otherwise, if you want just to be in nature and next to the National Park, this is NOT the better option.

Very nice atmosphere with friendly people. They have outside seating overlooking the beach as well as a nice pool table for those wishing to try their pool skills.

Excellent view and location, relaxed bar and restaurant overlooking the sea. Best falafel I've had for ages, good pizzas with limited toppings but it's a Backpackers so didn't expect more. Interesting crowd and live music every Sunday afternoon.

Great spot overlooking the best surf spot in Wilderness. A fully equipped backpackers with a bar and pizzaria open to the public. Perfect for sundowners, a game of pool and a well deserved wood fired pizza after a long day's adventuring. The chilled seaside boho decor makes you feel right at home and puts you immediately into vacation mode. Every now and then they have fantastic live music. A must when visiting the Garden Route.
