Mes Amis is noticeably more expensive than your average Garden Route guesthouse, but once you arrive you see why: it is simply finished to a far higher standard. Breakfast is more extensive and served with style. You have direct access to the beach. The location is a downside: you need a car to get anywhere. Wilderness is a tourist-friendly cluster of bars and restaurants, but you can't walk or cycle there. It is also extremely exposed to the elements: even is early summer, the hosts put hot water bottles and extra blankets in the room because the coastal breeze gets so icy at night. The husband and wife team which owns the place is very present and eager to engage.

Our stay here was enjoyable, room exit onto the lawn where you can having a stunning view of the most whitish breakers I've ever seen. The boardwalk down to beach is in a good condition but might tap your resources going back. Breakfast was very well served and the host himself was close by to oversee everything, take up his advice on how to enjoy oats. The beach have all this fascinating boardwalks placed in a frequent interval which enhances this beach as unique to Wilderness.

While our stay was definitely 5 star, our experience was immeasurably better. The kindness, knowledge and positive energy of our hosts, Vanessa and Paul, was on another level from the moment we drove in. The staff likewise - Myna is a gem, we looked forward to seeing and speaking to her in the mornings. The accommodation is wonderful, with amazing views, plenty of subtle details and conversation pieces to keep you engaged. It's very safe, quiet, comfortable and conducive to high quality rest and relaxation. Then there's beautiful Wilderness. You get direct access to the best and quietest, long stretch beach I've seen in SA, and just a short drive to the restaurants. Knysna and George are also a short drive away. A few days later, we are still on a high and feel refreshed. We will definitely go back when we need another pick-me-up <3

One of if not the best guesthouse I have ever stayed at. From the moment you enter the driveway everything is just amazing. The interior is just as stunning as the outdoors. The views from the bed, the terrace, the breakfast is out of this world. Paired with the most lovely hosts makes mes amis an absolutely unforgettable experience! You even get to see dolphins without going anywhere!

Mes Ami ..... wow. This owner operated business was a charming , beautifully decorated home away from home. Except with a beautiful view, better rooms, incredible breakfast and the best location in the Wilderness. From the moment you drive through the gate you just don't want to leave. We will be back , again and again. Thank you Vanessa and Paul. KT the manager is by far the coolest manager I have ever met, hold onto him.

Great accommodation with an unforgettable view! We stayed in Mes Amis for three nights. The room was relatively small but clean and the terrace with its view was amazing. Moreover, the (lonely) beach is in walking distance (1min) and there is a small common area you can use. The breakfast buffet was included and we could chose daily between various egg variants (freshly made). Everything was delicious - but the several fresh fruits were my personal highlight. To sum it up: We can definitely recommend the apartment and would come back anytime.

Beautiful guesthouse. Gorgeous bedroom overlooking the beach, with the added bonus of dolphins swimming by when we arrived. Great place to sit with a gin and tonic from the stocked minibar.Lovely to sleep with the door open, screen shut and hear the ocean. And the breakfast - the best on my 6 day tour. Large choice, beautifully prepared and presented. Daily special - delicious. And loved the daily menu leaflet with interesting facts and quotes.

Very nice stay with super friendly owners! Wilderness should be on your list as one of the go-to stops on the garden route and Mes Amis will be the place to stay. Please be aware that the property was renovated recently, therefore many of the pictures on Google are outdated.

It was great choice o stay here! Newly upgraded and renovated (means very clean and nice interior!) Great location (right in front of the beach) Everything was nicely well organised while we were staying. Vanessa and Paul (owners) were very kind and always available for guests. Breakfast was fresh and nicely prepared every morning. watching dolphins at the balcony is priceless! we loved it! They even kindly arranged for us near local restaurants to experience different dining atmosphere. Highly recommend if you want to add extra South Africa hospitality to ur journey.

A truly enchanting guest house. We will definitely be back. The atmosphere, staff, rooms, and views were all amazing. Every detail is thought of, even down to milk in your fridge for your morning coffee. One of the best places I have ever stayed.

What a beautiful B&B. This place absolutely stole our hearts! Amazing view from the bedrooms, so clean and cozy. What a GEM 💎 Best breakfast, best view of the ocean, best people and there is a private entrance to the beach. Vanessa and Paul, you were absolutely amazing. You have a beautiful place and it was the perfect place to end our perfect honeymoon! We would definitely come and visit again, maybe sooner than you think.
