What a great stay! We had a bad experience in Knysna & found accommodation here for the night - such a brilliant place. Sitting on the stoep with a drink, watching dolphins swim by - awesome. The views are spectacular. And the hosts are realy friendly & make an effort to make your stay comfortable & pleasant. We added Whale's Way to our list of places to return to 😊 Definitely worth it.

We have felt very welcome, Benji really is a fantastic and lovely host and gave us great recommendations what to do in the area (e.g. book a canoe at Eden Adventures and do a little hike to a beautiful waterfall). The breakfast is so good, like in a 5 star hotel, also your food preferences are being considered. The view has been spectacular, we watched dolphins swim by while enjoying our breakfast. Wilderness im general is a very safe area with the most beautiful nature. The accomodation has a great location, it is safe and quiet with a beautiful view over the ocean. We stayed in the Beach Room, which has been absolutely allright for a three star accomodation. As it is at the seaside it obviously gets a bit moist after time, but we didn't mind so much. In general we enjoyed our stay very much, we would stay here again, and can totally recommend this B&B!

Reasonable. Not great. Room was very outdated and floor was very dirty. Owner was extremely rude to us which made us feel very uncomfortable because we had apparently parked our car in the wrong spot. They seriously need to invest some of their profit in a no parking sign because of how strong they portrayed their dislike of our innocent mistake. Will never stay there again and would not recommend to any of my family who travel there regularly.

We had a wonderful time on our honeymoon at this place. Ben and his dad are wonderful people. The view from the top room is amazing and it served us well on our trip. Top class

What a gem! We stayed here as part of our Garden Route trip and it was wonderful. The sky suite has double aspect views over the beach and mountains, listening to the sound of the ocean was pure magic. Breakfast was fantastic and the friendly service was very welcoming.

Surprise, Suprise. Initial feelings - a wonderful, wonderful location and "Welcome" by the owner's father but the room was a disaster. Plumbing didn't work ie toilet seat very woberly and flush didn't happen and miniscule handbasin and intermitent shower was a frustation. TV didn't work and decoration needed throughout the room. We arrived at breakfast expecting the worst but we were presented with the most varied a deliscious breakfast worthy of the very best 5 star hotel world wide backed up by the service provided by the owner and his Dad. I am a retired construction industry purchasing executive and am familiar with contractors who would be prepared to come to the hotel and suggest improvements to the rooms at reasonable cost and bring the building up to 5 star standards of refurbishment to match the quality of the magnificent location and unbelievable breakfast. This would not be cheap but it would result in bringing the building up to the same standards as the food and location.

Besides the spectacular ocean view and the lovely accommodation, the service at Whales way from Benjamin and his dad is out of this world! 5 star breakfast every morning, beautifully displayed with loving attention to detail, and on the morning we left too early for breakfast they packed us padkos for the road, you just don’t get thoughtfulness like this anywhere else. I am awed.

Stayed 5days here. Spectacular views with most beautiful sunset from the bench right in front of the room. Gracious host with excellent suggestions for sightseeing. Great breakfast with full view of the sea and dolphins.

Oasis with a breathtaking sea view, the perfect spot to watch Dolphins and wonderful sun sets. You can enjoy freshly prepared and delicious breakfast on the balcony. Super friendly owners that provide tips for trips.

The view is amazing. The penthouse was perfect for our family of four. The breakfast was perfect, as was the coffee. The water heater only had enough water to fill the bath to the jacuzzi jets so that we could not shower after the children bathed. We left there very happy.

Most definitely the best value for money, a breakfast up to every possible standard. The rooms are clean and privacy is respected. I can highly recommend this stay. The hosts are very helpful (even if you lock yourself out) the best advice on things to do and places to see. Whale's Ocean Retreat, you will definitely see us again, Not to mention the stunning views. Please keep up the high standards, as this puts you a cut above the rest.
