Excellent coffee cafe. They make special chocolate that is breathtakingly attractive and great for presents. I 4got to take pictures. It's worth a visit. Been back today july 23 /2021 and bought 18 chic as presents. See pictures. John

EDIT (after response from owner): Actually you are grossly misinformed and incorrect. We visited your coffee shop during the week. My partner and I ordered a coffee and a latte, where we waited over 20 minutes to be served. Attached is the picture I took. We wanted to order food and we were ignored. It took a further 10 minutes to get the bill that we paid with zapper because nobody even bothered to bring the card machine. In terms of your covid19 complaince - no. Both doors were closed during our stay, staff had exposed noses with their masks and no menu or table was sanitised IN OUR VIEW. Your customer service is ground bottom and your response proves this. I stand by my not recommend.Terrible service. Bad coffee. Not keeping up with covid19 compliances, our menu was not sanitised, our table wasn't sanitised, no doors or Windows open for ventilation. We came for breakfast, but left after we got coffee. Wouldn't recommend.

Saying my review is "vitriolic" is dramatic, and an over exaggeration of note - the only bitterness here (initially) came from the terrible cup of coffee, and there is certainly no malice in a bad review. If I could find someone who looked like they may be in charge I may have opted to speak to them, however we could barely find anyone to pay us any attention during our visit - this is not a fault of mine, and I shouldn't have to take more time out of my day to speak to a manager or owner to tell them how to manage their own cafe. Your patrons are not your managers, and this review simply reflects the experience I had. Having viewed the owner's responses to other reviews, it is clear that they switch between failing to understand the purpose of a review and simply being steadfast in their own opinion that any negative review is objectively wrong. So here is the constructive review you wanted: Learn to take negative reviews and deal with them accordingly, without getting all worked up about it. My review accurately reflects my experience, and if it is one bad review stacked against thousands of positive ones, it should not negatively reflect the overall image of your institution. If we did catch you on an off day where you dropped the ball, then that clearly is an outlier, as my review would then be. There are far better ways to deal with negative reviews than this arrogant owner's sorry attempts.

They brought the boutique coffee tradition to George and you can hear it in the owners enthusiasm as he explains how they roast their own coffee beans and make their own chocolate from "relationship cocoa". Coffee and cocoa are remarkably beans that have taken the world by storm and here they strive to bring you the best of them. I enjoyed the coffee and chocolate tasting. The restaurant itself is pared back and located in George central so you will not have much of a view. The service is good and a bit millennial/hippie. There are other confections you can have with your coffee other than chocolate. If in George I'd say give this place a visit, you should be well rewarded for it.

Caloroso Roastery & Eatery is a must for the coffee connoisseur. The best Cappuccino in town served by friendly staff.

Great coffee and a nice quiet coffeeshop with a very relaxing atmosphere. I had an eggs benedict with spinach which was absolutely delicious. My partner had a chicken and avo ciabatta. We both really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere all together.

They are the oldest boutique coffeeshop in George for a reason. Not your average mass produced coffee roaster. Kelvin the owner is a true connoisseur who take personal pride in his work. Highly recommended.

Cosy cafe in the centre of town. I had a cappuccino and a scone. Both were lovely and the scone had an almondy taste which I enjoyed. The cappuccino could have been a bit stronger but it probably comes down to personal taste. I was somewhat disappointed with the desert menu, there could have been more of a variety of cakes. Nonetheless, the experience as a whole was good. The highlight was the exceptionally friendly staff. Everyone from the waiter to the barista to the lady that cleared the table were friendly and accommodating. I also loved the cappuccino art. Well done!

I truly enjoyed my experience at Caloroso. It is a great example of how passion and hard work leads to great service delivery. The coffee is top class with baristas who truly respect the craft (in my observation). I was very impressed by how good the food is and I have been back quite a few times for breakfast and lunch. In my opinion the prices are also very good for what you get and the portions are generous. Recently I was informed that Caloroso also does tapas and drinks on certain evenings and I believe that the community should support this new venture. I went with a group of friends and family and we really enjoyed the evening, food and drinks selection. Caloroso is clearly community-driven and I love how welcoming it is. I could not recommend it more.
