So we visited here looking for a Sunday roast. As soon as we walked in we was getting some bad vibes in here, the place just wasn’t right. Anyway we decided to sit down and order but the service was terrible and the guy taking orders were rude and didn’t even acknowledge us customers which we found really strange. Then the food came which was chicken and lamb Sunday roasts. The chicken roast had a long hair on the food which was shocking and off putting and ruined our meal. The manager did replace the meal but the whole experience at this place was ruined and rubbish. So disappointed with this place, will never visit again.

I had an incredible experience in this pub, I tried their Sunday roast, apple crumble with custard, Steak Ale Pie and cheesecake. The plates are served all hot with a great quantity of food. In both occasions that I ate there, I left very very satisfied and full. The food is delicious and I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone, it’s worth every penny. Consider yourself lucky if you’re staying close to the King Edward VII.

I have been to this pub a few times as I live not far away. The lovely lady who seems to be manning the bar everytime I've been in is an absolute delight. She is so welcoming and greets customers with the same charming friendliness as if she were welcoming you in to her own home. Fantastic service and a pint of Guinness for £4.20... what more could you ask of a non-pretentious East-end watering hole?!

Little London pub with split levels and and out door area serving a variety of beers and the normal alcoholic beverages. They were understaffed when we were there but the staff were polite and fairly quick to serve. We moved to the back bar as it was empty and the front bar was full, only to wait 10-15 minutes and be told that bar was shut? So we had to squeeze back into the front bar again. I'd come back but only for a few beers I reckon even though they were serving and selling food to.

This pub is ok at a push, but the staff need to sort themselves out. The two ladies that worked when we were there (Sunday 26th of June) were so grumpy, not a single smile in sight. One of them slammed the card machine down every time a customer tried to pay and to me it seemed they had fallen out as there seemed to be zero teamwork in place. The food is pub grub, ok but nothing special. My husband's dish never arrived and by the time the rest of us had all finished it still hadn't arrived (even though we'd told them it was missing) so he just cancelled it in the end and went hungry! Only plus was that it was open late on the Sunday evening when we returned after a gig but the atmosphere, because of the staff, was diabolical. EDIT - at the request of the owner, I can confirm that we were there around 6pm for food when we sat at the round table opposite the entrance to the left. We then popped in again around 11pm for a late night drink, this time we were outside as the pub itself was really rammed. It was on our second visit especially that the atmosphere between/from the staff was extremely frosty.

On a recent nostalgia visit to Stratford East London we we're shocked how much has become dilapidated over the years and how new and cosmopolitan things have become. With a mix of the two it was great to see the King Edward Vll still holding its own. The pub was always quaint and worldly and to our delight still is, the steak and ale pie was delicious and washed down with a bottle of prosecco (special deal on Thursday and Friday 14.99) we couldn't ask for more. The King Edward is standing the test of time, well done to all those involved.

I like this pub, but last night was a travesty. They had barely any alcohol. No rum, no ciders, none of a particular beer. I asked what was up, and apparently there is new management running the pub into the ground. Staff were brilliant as always. Anyway, stock some alcohol because if we don't go here we end up at the smelly pub down the road, or escape which is fine but not the vibe we want all the time. Stock some alcohol!!!!!! Literally the point of the pub!!!!

Went here this week on our first time in Stratford although we lived in London a little while back for a good spell of time. It looked interesting and was nice and warm on a cold night. I asked for a small dry white wine but was told they only do minimum of medium size, so i okayed. One sip told me something tasted wrong and my partner took it back. There was a bit of a hoo ha, smelling it and implying i just didn't like that particular grape but it was changed for (apparently) a Chardonnay. Although to be quite honest she could have given me wine from the same bottle because it tasted just the same, just as unpleasant. I just wondered, do they buy foul wine because it's cheap or had it been opened for a long time? I don't pretend to be a wine expert but i know when something tastes bad. I couldn't drink it and there was no point in trying again. I got the impression the barmaid didn't care. She said two other people were drinking the first foul tasting wine and not complaining. What are you supposed to say to that? It's a lovely looking pub, really old fashioned and beautiful tiling but i can't recommend with that bar maid who really doesn't seem to want anybody except her regulars. So unfortunately I can't recommend.

Sad to say but Eddie's is not the same pub it used to be. I have seen few people here referring to 'bad vibe' there. I have exactly the same impression. The friend i brought in there pointed out that it felt more like a drug den than the pub, with some shady clientele eating a KFC behaving rather rowdy, loud and inappropriate (unless the management will argue that pin holding persons leg and discharging fire extinguisher in her crouch is oh so funny and acceptable behaviour. I'll wait). Did not feel safe there at all. Disappointing. Addendum: Thank you for your reply. I am not sure how do you want me to give you more information as you haven't provided email ect so ill do it here. It was the 4th of August, anything between 7.30pm and 8.30pm. The very comfortable crowd was sitting from the right side of the bar as you walk in. Table right next to the bar. They looked like they are usual clients, but the way one chap was behaving - pinning a woman to the bar with his hands around her neck and face (what a macho demonstration of power. not!) and said extinguisher moment - made me think that i will never ever go back to your pub. Dont get me wrong, i do understand jokes and pranks, but this was absolutely disgusting behaviour not belonging in a public place.

The King Edward is a pub that offers a delightful experience with its wide selection of drinks and friendly staff. The pub not only provides indoor seating but also offers the option to enjoy the outdoors with its outdoor seating area and a small garden at the back. While I didn't have the opportunity to try their Sunday roast, it's worth noting that King Edward offers this traditional meal, which is often a favourite among pub-goers. One aspect that sets The King Edward apart is its entertainment offerings. Over the weekends, the pub livens up with karaoke sessions and live music performances, providing a fun and engaging atmosphere for patrons. Whether you enjoy singing your heart out or simply appreciate the energy of live music, these events contribute to an enjoyable experience at the pub. The staff members at The King Edward are friendly and welcoming, creating a comfortable environment for guests. They are attentive and readily available to assist with any inquiries or requests. Their warm and accommodating nature adds to the overall positive impression of the pub. In terms of drink selection, King Edward does not disappoint. With a good variety of beverages available, including beers, spirits, and other popular choices, there is something to suit every taste. Whether you prefer a refreshing pint or a crafted cocktail, you're likely to find a drink that satisfies your cravings. Overall, King Edward offers a pleasant pub experience with its friendly staff, great drink selection, and outdoor seating area. The option to enjoy a Sunday roast, along with the added entertainment of karaoke and live music, makes it a versatile choice for a casual hangout or a lively night out. Additionally, it's important to mention that King Edward tends to get quite busy during West Ham United games. As fans gather at the pub before heading to the stadium, the atmosphere becomes even more lively and spirited. If you're a football enthusiast or enjoy the buzz of pre-match excitement, visiting The King Edward on match days can be a fantastic experience. It's an opportunity to join fellow fans, engage in spirited discussions, and soak up the enthusiastic atmosphere before cheering on the team.

This is a proper pub and not probably to everyone's taste. A big pub deceptive as has a large back bar and also terrace beer garden.Syreet seating at front.Opens earlier than most other pubs nearby. Bar staff friendly. Does a fair selection of beer.

Fab young girl serving. The pub is a typical gritty, grubby pub.....great beer, great pie, sticky tables

On the evening of Tuesday 1st of November, I popped into your pub, and asked If I could use the toilets as I was on the way home from work. My bus was delayed and I really needed to use the loo, and didn't think for a second this would be a problem. However, when I approached a staff member to ask if this was OK, he begrudgingly said ok, but said it was for customers only and was really quite rude about it (to the point it attracted attention from a couple punters in the pub.) Not sure if this staff member was having a bad shift/ day (we all have them sometimes I get it) but refusing anyone to use the toilets is not on at all, and especially in the rude manner in which if was done! Either change ur policy, staff or both!

Lovely, spacious and cosy traditional English pub in the heart of Stratford. Good quality food and good selection of draught beers. Joe deserves 5* rating himself, thank you for making me laugh. See you guys soon!

Walking past and heard the DJ playing music and Kareoke so thought why not. Outside it looks like an old traditional pub but inside people were friendly, social, a surprisingly diverse bunch all in the middle of Stratford. Thanks to the friendly staff behind the bar Will be back again soon !!!

Rather nice, clean, good food, great chips, you get what you pay for. Not the greatest selection with beers, but all in all a good place for a hearty, good-value lunch

This used to be a great pub, but now it is just a nice pub. Nothing wrong with that as the pub itself has not changed. It is still a nice pub but it's the people that make anywhere great. The people that used to frequent this pub made it magnificent,. It wasn't just a pub. It was a place that everyone was accepted, and they knew it. Did not matter about your colour, origin, orientation or profession. You were welcome. I'm not sure if that message is still out there, but I bet the people running the Eddy won't discriminate. This pub could be fantastic again, go, have a drink, talk to the people next to you, make this pub amazing again. It deserves it, the area deserves it, you deserve this pub. For me on this visit I had a good pint, couldn't fault it. Service was good and my order was remebred for my next pint. But a pub needs people, that's where you come in. Go here Have a drink, maybe eat. Talk to people next to you. Have a good time. Talk to people about it. Go again. Tweet it. Insta it. Facebook it. This pub deserves it. Make "The Eddy" great again.

Went Fri & Sat nights. Great little pub with a public bar at the front, a quieter saloon bar at one side and an "events / functions" area at the back used as a bar area when nothing on. Garden area behind. Good food choices, plentiful, hot and well-cooked!! Good selection of beers and lager. Karaoke on the Sat evg in the front bar...slightly quieter in the saloon bar!!

Have been going here on-and-off for quite a few years now, it's a really nice, tardis-like boozer that just continues towards the back. At the front, be wary of Table 6 - it's so wobbly, you can easily spill your entire pint glass all over you when having a half-animated conversation. No idea why this pub, as so many others, don't have tables whose legs come with little height-adjusters as opposed to needing staff to prop it up with folded up cardboard. I might have a sensitivity to wobbles in boozers, this one thankfully pales what happened to us last Saturday at the Two More Years bar...

Not what it used to be back in the early 2010's ; it was a nice boozer focusing on a small menu of good quality dishes. Now it's just your local boozer stables of over cooked chips and average burgers served on a wooden board. Come for the cheap drinks , not the food.

Fantastic pub! May I just start by adding what a pleasure it is to have the old management back. Nothing is ever too much for RAJ and him and he’s team are a delight. Been coming here for years and can not fault the place. The food, the staff, real ales and entertainment on a Saturday has kept me coming back continuously. 5 stars all round from me. Keep up the good work guys!
