My friend and I dined here on Friday 24th September. Whilst the welcome and service was good, I am sorry to say we were both incredibly disappointed with every aspect of our meal. The steak which was highly recommended was brutally over cooked from the medium rare requested. It was also very small for the price charged! The pork belly was also overcooked and rather dry. The roasted vegetables was basically undercooked onion. The crumble we had for desert was probably the worst I have ever had and simply not restaurant quality. This was a great shame as we had heard good reviews and decided to treat ourselves as we don't have the opportunity to eat out very often. We initially decided not to put a negative review on social media as we thought it fairer to let them know directly our views. As this was not even acknowledged we thought it appropriate to share our experience more widely. It may just be that we caught the kitchen on a bad night but sadly we will not be recommending you to family and friends.

Very nice pub for a Sunday dinner. Staff were extremely attentive and we didn’t have to wait too much time in between courses. The gravy was excellent and the meat was cooked to perfection. Allowed to take home a brownie, happy happy. If we were local, which were not, we would eat here every Sunday. Thank you for a lovely afternoon. Dogs welcome - 4 visible currently

We had a wonderful birthday meal here on a perfect evening. Everything about it was delightful, the food, the ambiance and the drink! I was delighted find a range of non-alcoholic wines - including a Muscat I didn't know existed and I was told the Bellini was great too.

While exploring on the Triumph yesterday I came across Robertsbridge - a gem of a village just off the A21. I needed lunch and hoped to find a pub that would meet my expectations for such a place. I was not disappointed. The George Inn is a beautiful, we'll appointed pub and hotel which serves amazing food and is run by very friendly staff. I had a homemade pie, chips and veg with proper Gravy and it was one of the best pies I've ever eaten. Absolutely delicious with really well cooked and varied veg. I think all my bike runs will now feature this place as I hope to explore their menu as much as the local area! I can't recommend it highly enough.

Disapointing overall, service slow & orders missed. Then got to desserts and asked to hurry up as they needed to turn the table round, dont know what would of happened if we had wanted coffees!! Food was ok but nothing special. Would we return? In truth probably not.

Great pub in a lovely village. Booked for Sunday lunch. Roast beef was cooked to perfection. Allergies were handled with ease by the chef. Service was friendly and efficient and dogs are welcome. We will return.

Parking is a little tight but the experience was delightful. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm. The manager/owner is friendly and sociable. The pub is dog friendly and the food is a delightful variety to suit all pockets and tastebuds. My pack will certainly be back. We had all 4 of our terriers at the fireside table near the bar and all thoroughly enjoyed our lunchtime natter and lunch. The pic is of our pack as we had just come from our kent holiday and were jpurneying through on way to the M1

Friday evening, two days before Christmas, we're hungry and thirsty and find ourselves some way from home. Not having planned to eat out, we've not booked anywhere, so what are our chances of finding somewhere to eat? Well, we struck gold! Lovely welcoming staff, a great atmosphere (busy and cheerful without being overly noisy) we were seated in a cosy corner, and were served promptly. The food arrived super quick and was nicely presented and beautifully cooked. Thank you for a great experience, shame we couldn't have stayed longer but we'll definitely be back. Merry Christmas!

I went to the George Inn for lunch. Food was good and staff/service were friendly and professional. I'm vegetarian and my daughter is vegan, gluten free so options were limited for me and there really wasn't anything my daughter could've eaten had she been there, so it might be nice if they could cater for different dietary requirements, but I realise that can be restrictive especially if the menu isn't lengthy. A nice meal though.

Wow what a great place. Walked through the door and I could tell it was going to be a nice experience. So first of all, the staff were great. Very friendly helpful and they all had a smile. I had a cappuccino while waiting for the food. Cappuccino was perfect, I believe they use rye bay coffee. Then the mouth watering food arrived. There was plenty of it too ( gravy was amazing). We had cappuccino cheesecake which was also very tasty. The presentation of everything ( even the spoons ) was the best I've seen any where. The lay out inside is very roomy and warm. Due to covid they have moved the tables which is great for customers but obviously not so great for the owners. But in my opinion it gives a more comfortable atmosphere when eating. It is also spotless. Unlike most places we visit, the staff were on the ball . There are steps into the front of the building. I didn't ask but from what I can see there are no steps into the back so probably ok for wheel chairs. All in all a great cosey place that I'm definitely going in again. Before I go and rest my belly. I did take a photo of my dinner BEFORE I added the veg. My plate was very full.

Good beer and outstanding food. Staff very friendly and professional. This is a great little pub but I can assure you this is not pub food the food served here would not look out of place in a four star restaurant.

Just stopped for a couple of drinks. They do a nice Cruzcampo Spanish lager and Camden Town pale ale. Friendly and welcoming staff.

It’s an average place. Fine for beer and crisps. Service unreliable. Even though people are nice enough. Had to ask for a beer twice. Asked for a cheese platter 3 time before giving up. Mash & potatoes fine. Beetroot salad a failure. Sea bass all right, but not extraordinary.

If you are anywhere near Robertsbridge then you should try the George Inn, we had the Stake & Ale Pie & Veggie Burger, both were exceptional, every mouthful tasted great, every element cooked perfectly. We couldn't fault anything, we were blown away with this meal, and no I'm not related.

We had heard The George had been taken over and had acquired new Chefs; so thought it was time to visit. We were a party of four and had reserved a table for Saturday. This was a good move as they were busy. We were greeted and shown to our table by particularly pleasant staff. The menu was varied and appetising and we all found it very easy to choose our meal. Our choices arrived and we're beautifully presented and did not disappoint. We will definitely return again and would not hesitate to recommend The George to our friends.

Rammed but despite that quick service was village Christmas street fair. Complimentary nibbles too later on Whoo Hoo.

John and jayne should be very proud of what they have achieved at the George. Good food, good service and an ability to seem to able to remember everyone's name 😳

Had a really nice meal there. Nice choice of beers and great menu. Service was very good and food fabulous. It's lovely to see a pub doing well as so many of them have shut down in recent years. I will certainly return to the George.
