We have come to the Rivoli bar over the years to celebrate special occasions. Last night I visited with my parents and my sister and were hugely disappointed. The service was lovely and some of the cocktails were nice (although given it supposed to be an experience - serving one of them in a plain highball with an ice cube isn't exactly exciting). However, the bar is looking tired - scuffs everywhere, the leg of the tables are falling apart. It looks good from a distance but when you're sitting in it it has the feeling you gran's favourite handbag might give you, without the nostalgia - it was once special but has definitely seen better days. The biggest let down was the food. The food has also seriously gone downhill. There used to be lovely little sharing things. Not anymore. I ordered the burger. It was bigger than expected which at first seem to be a plus. However, the patty was very solid and very brown ( I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked so I assume it would come medium rare - it came very very well done). The brioche bin was burnt (!). The chips was cold and soggy and had clearly been sitting out and the onion rings were hugely over salted. I would have complained but my parents were paying and I didn't want to upset them. For £36 this was shocking. It should have been perfect with attention to detail paid to everything served. Frankly, I would have got better food if I'd gone to GBK for a fraction of the price. I've had better deliveroos The rest of our party had the lobster rolls which were nice but very heavy and marketed as a dish to have by yourself whereas one plate would have done nicely as a sharing dish. I don't know what's going on with the food here but the menu is not as good as it used to be, and the quality of the food was frankly dire. After visiting here for over 15 years won't be going back. Either save your money and go somewhere cheaper (and probably tastier) or go to a better high-end hotel bar such as can be found in the Savoy or the Wolsey

Amazing way to treat yourself with a close friend or your partner. The service was impeccable as you would expect.. All the waiters were really attentive. Cocktails were perfect! Lovely atmosphere with live music coming from the hall that’s shared with the restaurant. Dress code is smart but casual, no need for a tie.. Paid around 25£ for each cocktail but definitely worth every penny. Thanks Michele for the really careful and friendly service!

First time coming to Rivoli Bar and it was our wedding day so very special occasion. We had a nice table and the drinks were really lovely. Yes they are super pricey but you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t know this. My issue was the waiter we had and his obnoxious attitude. He barely gave any recommendations, left the menus and then came back 20min later to get the order. He then insisted to take the orders in a chronological order so as to remember who had which drink. And yet, he forgot when he eventually brought the drinks so we kind of made fun of him. He also brought all the cocktails but forgot the one champagne we had ordered; you would expect all drinks to arrive at the same time. Just a lack of professionalism in a setting where you would expect the highest of professionalism. Highly recommend the Harmony for those who love Espresso Martinis, it’s a nice twist.

If I could give zero stars I would. Insane double-standards. Started with a walk into the hotel lobby where the door man said I was in dress code, but apparently my hybrid Chelsea Boots weren’t up to speck. So they needed to swap my shoes. Initially frustrated, but felt could it be reasonable…so I obligated. However, once we walked by the bar entrance, where even by the door, you could eyeball five guests wearing adidas Superstars, I knew I was being discriminated against. When I called this out the door man immediately backed down on the “shoe” requirement, but deferred to the bar manager to make the decision…who happened to be conveniently on ear shot and ready to turn me away due to my “shoes”. I called out the fact that other guests in the room were wearing sneakers, she suddenly changed her tune and said I was “therefore welcome to sit”… My guests and I immediately walked out. Places with double-standards in this day, from an establishment like The Ritz, is unacceptable.

My sister was racially profiled and told she couldn’t go in as the bar was full. The bar was practically empty. She was up to the dress code and there was no reason to decline her entrance.

Great service from when you stepped in to the bar. Many variations of cocktails to choose from and great recommendations from the server.

I made a reservation for the bar and we came along on Thursday. The doormen were very attentive as are all the staff. We had a club sandwich and fries which was lovely, 2 cocktails, a mocktail and some champagne. I was very impressed with my Clarity mocktail. As it is The Ritz, people are still trying to get in wearing trainers or not dressing accordingly, so I think reading the dress code before you try to get in is a must. My only complaint as a disabled person, is the accessible toilet by the cloakroom, it has a very unpleasant odour, and has done on my last few visits.

We went there to celebrate our friends’ engagement news with some champagne. I liked the overall “The Ritz” experience. They even iced our glasses before pouring the champagne, so that was a nice touch. We also tried their espresso martini, which was delicious. The hotel and all the vibe felt all really fancy however the decoration of the bar can be enhanced. It felt a bit outdated compared to the rest of the hotel. Overall a pleasent experience.

I would leave 0 stars if I could. Racially profiled at this place. We had a nice dinner nearby and wanted to end the night with some drinks. As we were approaching, a man at the door saw me and rushed to stop us from entering to ask if we were staying at the hotel. We told him we were not and he proceeded to tell us the bar was full and was not accepting any more guests. We could see from the window that this was not the case and the bar was practically empty. We asked if he was sure and he continued to lie and state that he was being told from his earpiece(he did not have one on). Very disappointed and disgusted with this establishment.

£9.50 for average coffee and £9.50 for average tea. A lot of money for what should be faultless. Unfortunately, the drinks are nowhere near worth the high prices. UPDATE: To be clear, following the response re "good value". One does not mind paying high prices IF you receive a high quality experience/drink. This is not about value - you do not go to the Ritz for value - you go to Costa for value! The quality has gone downhill and this simply needs addressing!

Love this place, you should always have a ritz 110 and if your having afternoon tea ensure you leave promptly to get a space in the bar before the others as it’s not too huge and you could miss out

The classiest cocktail bar in London set within the most famous hotel in the UK, if not the World, The Ritz! The Rivoli Bar offers a substantial range of Whiskey and Cognacs along with the greatest Cocktails ever invented. This is definitely 'the location for that special occasion'. Super professional staff provide a quality service that is second to none. Drinks prices echo the surroundings and it's worth it!

We often pop for a cocktail and it’s always fun. The most interesting people have cocktails at The Rivoli. Their Old Fashioned is a classic style and their bar snacks make us want to order more. The service is always great and they’re always happy to hail us a cab home when we leave.

The service and atmosphere tells everything. Loved a glass of champagne after a super cold beer. They poured a a bit of champagne for me to taste before too! Also they served a small nibbles on arrival. Thanks. Good to experience this place while visiting London.

Visited The Rivoli Bar on New Year’s Day for a treat and it was definitely worth the splurge! Beautiful decor, lovely atmosphere, impeccable service and cocktails made for us that were not on the menu. A day to remember and my favourite five star hotel in London.

This bar was an establishment I could attend in the midst of O so COVID 2021. It is host to karaoke 4 (maybe 5…don’t quote me on this one) nights out of the week, which in my world is automatic 5 stars. They have pool tables, outside bbqing …

Despite other parts of the hotel sometimes slipping these days, the Rivoli Bar has always been consistently excellent. The staff are highly courteous, knowledgable about cocktails and wine, and the product is always beautifully presented. The interior, looking like a jewellery box combined with an orient express train carriage, makes for a great destination for meetings or treating a visitor to London.

A must when visiting London. Although not planned this visit, couldn't resist the elegance, charm and 'welcome back' feeling of this bar. Being from the North East, had to enquire on the resident sand dancer of whom we are very proud!

Once again a great experience. The staff are wonderful and the drinks are spectacular. And, for the first time, I witnessed a very loud person sitting at the bar being patronizing and rude. The staff handle the situation so wonderfully and even gave the two individuals a Ritz' pen in an effort to calm their obnoxious behavior. The staff makes all of the difference here. This is my 'go to' in London and I would highly recommend the 'Ritz 110'.

You can’t beat the Ritz for service - we popped in for cocktails on a Friday night and had a lovely visit, as always. Great service and excellent quality drinks. Would be good to see some more English sparkling wine options on the menu though!
