We've had a lovely dinner. The staff was very friendly and service was surprisingly fast. Nice options for children too.

Great pub/restaurant. The food was excellent, great service and not overpriced. Will definitely be returning. Best meal I’ve had for a long time.

Elegantly presented but rushed. The menu was interesting and believed my palette was excited. 7pm on a Sunday and meals had run out. 3rd choice main of a Lamb rump roast was lacklustre. A square inch of bacon-wrapped stuffing was a taster only. The plate was full, small portion of meat, vegetables and a large overcooked homemade impressive-looking Yorkshire Pudding. The extras were small for the price and the cauliflower cheese lacked cheese and tasted like it had previously been roasted and slightly burned. The starter was scallops and it was a nice, easy well cooked and tasty starter. The dessert was the Ambassador Bomb. White chocolate sauce not too sweet, could have been warmer, was a lovely dessert. Staff were pleasant, helpful, but the Kings Arms was too full. The service was stretched and took a long time. For the 8 of us, we took 3 hours to have dinner. Only visited it the once, so possible we caught it on a bad day, but the people who were at the bar when we arrived complained about delayed service. 2 stars because my dessert was good.

Had a few hours to kill so made my way to the kings arms. Sat in the garden under the trees and watched the world go by as I tucked into my fillet steak sandwich. Cooked very well accompanied by chips and a beefy dripping sauce. Really admire that the soda water was free considering most pubs would charge. Lovely afternoon in the sun 👍

Awful experience! Terrible table service. Our bill come to £120 for myself & partner and this was the standard of our starters.. Half toasted bread and it was meant to be artisan rustic bread. More like kings mill! Hugely disappointing considering the lovely location and nice decor. Might I add the platter we ordered come separately to the olives and we had to chase them down for the bread and vinegar/oil. Also my roast dinner was warm!l They had no Yorkshire puddings! I was so hungry by this point I didn’t complain. It was alarming the fact the “chef” couldn’t whip up some yorkshires! Really disappointed with our experience!

Lovely pub in Cardington with good atmosphere and nice decor. It was a very busy Saturday and service was slow but we didn’t mind that much. My dirty burger was delicious but my partner’s chicken burger was a bit disappointing. It had some sauce (maybe chilly) that was too sweet and the chicken was unseasoned and bland. The pavlova dessert looked impressive and cream was flavourful but the pavlova was like chalk and sickly sweet. Also I think it lacked some fruit to cut through all the sugar. Maybe it was a challenging night for the kitchen and service but regardless we had a lovely time.

Came here after a trip into Bedford. The food here was delicious. Very tasty. Bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Would definitely recommend and come back. Staff were very polite and service was perfect. Sat outside which was lovely, lots of tables and large umbrellas to protect you from the sun. Didn’t need to reserve, but I’m guessing you would at the weekend as it’s quite a busy restaurant.

Leonie was fabulous. Great customer service. Can't say the banana dish was the best choice but the scallops were great 😁

Charlotte was a fabulous server, added an extra special touch to our Valentines dinner which we really can't fault. If you have never visited this place, can highly recommend it, its one of the best pubs in Bedfordshire for food and drink and have never had a bad experience. Food top notch and staff so friendly and welcoming.

6 stars for the staff in the service - 4 stars for the kitchen. Very friendly, helpful and forthcoming staff. I’ve had the Sunday roast. Overall the right decision. It was good and about the right amount. The chicken was a bit dry, but one can have as much gravy as required. The portion of the pork belly could have been slightly larger. The trimmings were very good, in particular the leek. Generous children’s portions. Beautiful Yorkshire puddings loop. Ample parking. I will return.

We went there for the festive indulgence menu, and whilst it was lovely to be out, the food could have been warmer! And the veg was a bit lack luster not the same quality I'm used to! However, the service was great

Great pub, restaurant. Please please train your young staff. They are doing there best but you can easily tell they are lacking training, poor management.

Went here for a Sunday roast, it was delicious. The service was a little slow that time, however when going again the service was extremely good. The staff are friendly and it’s situated in a really lovely village. Parking is brilliant although hard to get on a Sunday. They have a big menu for everyone. The only thing I could fault is the interior is a little dated and the exterior seating area did feel like it was a temporary covid seating area, maybe it was but if they are going to make it permanent they should invest it making it look more cosy. The building itself is so beautiful that it would be nice to have the decor to match

Just had Sunday lunch at the location and it was amazing. The service was impeccable and although busy (which was lovely to see and added to the atmosphere) nothing was too much trouble. The food was lovely and will certainly visit again. Thank you for a lovely Sunday dinner

Great food and brilliant service. We were a big table with a huge order, there were 1 or 2 issues with food being a little cold but with such a big order there is always going to be issues getting it all out. But the staff were brilliant and dealt well with any issues we had and I really enjoyed my Maple Glazed Pork with Scallops ,,,, to die for 😋

The menu choice is good and the staff are very nice. The decor of the restaurant is really nice too. Can be a little pricey compared to other similar places, but well worth it. Overall a great place to eat.

We visited for Sunday roast and everything was lovely. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Two members of our party have multiple allergies, this was not a problem at all and both enjoyed delicious meals. We will definitely be back.

Lovely place, nice warm and friendly ambience. A real fireplace too! The food was fantastic, well cooked, and presented. A very helpful and friendly team of staff who were very well organised saw to it that everyone was seated and didn't have to wait too long for food.

Having enjoyed several family meals before, we thought it would be an ideal place to to enjoy a belated Christmas get-together for the eight of us. We were quite disappointed then when the service, particularly for clearing plates away) was quite slow and several meals were not delivered as ordered, with items missing. All in-all, it didn't represent good value for money given the amount we spent

  • 1/5 SERGIO C. 4 months ago on Google
We went last night with our friends for our usual Christmas dinner. I have to say that the place was really nice.We PREORDER our meal to make things easier. What happened was unacceptable. How is it possible to run out of scallops if you knew how many you needed in advance? I was told this 30 secs before serving my main. If they'd told me from the beginning I would have had time to order something else. I wasn't impressed with the expensive Rioja red wine and the Albariño white wine wasn't chilled at all. I will NOT come back

Lauren and ash were amazing, they really made us feel welcome, liv and molly were really patient with us and helpful. The experience as a whole was highly enjoyable and couldn’t recommend enough for a christmas meal. Loved the staff, they are credits to the business!

With a party of 6, busy catching up; but our waitress Leoni was awesome, great service. Food was lovely & all as ordered, with no fuss coping with requests to slightly alter food requests. Great time, great food, great service.

We went with old friends and ended up staying for four hours! The food was good, the service was great and we weren't rushed. Though busy with Christmas meals, no problems choosing off the normal menu. Catered for dairy free in their stride. We generally like this chain of gastro pubs as usually very good and recommend this one in particular.

A great experience today on my first visit to the Kings Arms. Booked on line and requested a quiet table and got just that. Service great, food great, drinks great, ambience great. Highly recommended and worth the 25min journey. Will be returning.

  • 4/5 Sam B. 11 months ago on Google
The setting, decor and ambiance is excellent. The staff are welcoming and accommodating. There is a very good range of drinks with three ales on. The food menu has a good range of choices without being overwhelming. The food quality was very good but we thought the portion size was slightly less than expected. We walk every Thursday and normally always pay less than £5 a pint for an ale, so the Purity went slightly over that. But that would not put us off coming back. We thought overall the lunchtime experience was excellent and I would take friends and relatives there and would be quite interested in going there for an evening meal. We were all impressed.

Nice decor, great garden on a warm day, attentive staff. Menu I bit limited and seemed pricey. Was surprised my chicken and chips came with no vegetables.

We've eaten at the Kings arms a few times but today stood out. We didn't have a reservation and they were fully booked, but it was early and they kindly managed to seat us. The food was superb, the pork belly cooked to perfection, crispy and delicious and the combination of flavours of the pineapple chilli with the pork was delightful. The service was friendly and all in all for a midweek quick meal out it was fabulous. Beats cooking any day!!

Not what it used to be. The outside tables were filthy. With green mould under the glass. The napkin photo Is where we wiped a very small area of the glass top. Other tables and chairs had bird poo on them. Curtains in the windows hanging off the hooks. We came for something to eat, but if the tables outside haven't even been wiped down or cleaned since when? Then what are the other cleanliness standards like?

We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Kings Arms with my parents and my kids. Food was good and everyone enjoyed it. One main course (the pie) and one dessert (mini lemon poset) we chose were not available, it would have been useful to know this before we ordered but the staff were very helpful (and gave us full size lemon poset!)

Really well maintained modern pub with super friendly and professional staff. The outdoor seating area has plenty of spaces (mixture of tables and chairs and outdoor sofas) which is great for a sunny day. The quality of produce was excellent and this was upheld in the cooking process. Was a very pleasant lunch - will have to come back for dinner!

Lovely inside. Younger staff needed some training; lack of smiles was probably nerves. The more experienced staff knew how to interact and were on form. Outside furniture needed attention. Food, as always was very good. Two dishes delivered late, and without having to complain we were given our money back. Impressive! This encourages us to return as we know we’ll be looked after.

We had a wonderful visit in May 2022 for Sunday lunch. The staff were extremely accommodating - I had booked for four adults but we also had two babies and a dog and they quickly moved us to a more suitable/roomier table where we wouldn't be in the way of other diners. They couldn't have been lovelier to and more attentive of us and the little ones, either. The food came out fairly quickly and was splendid (3 of us had the Sunday roasts and I had the sirloin steak) and the atmosphere was cozy, welcoming and warm, even though the restaurant was packed.

The visit was excellent and will definitely come back. The staff were very helpful and the proper level of attentive (not too much or little). We had to make some changes to the booking they were flexible with and did without hesitation. The food was superb (I recommend the pork and scallops) and so was the wine (went well with the chardonnay). The bar has a great atmosphere. I thoroughly recommend going here!

I felt very safe here as all the tables were well spaced and the staff all were masks. The staff were very pleasant. The menu was varied and plenty to choose from. There was a log fire which gave a lovely warm atmosphere to the place.

Was a really lovely place to go for a glass of wine but unfortunately their red wine selection has taken a turn for the worst. Too sugary. I'm assuming they've changed suppliers Update: in response to your comment, we tried four different wines! Left 3 of them. Very much down hill

Our first time at the Kings Arms as we've just moved to the area and have heard good things from friends... we was not disappointed! The staff was friendly and helpful while following covid guidlines really well. The aethetics of the pub is sinply stunning and makes you feel like you're going out for a real treat when walking in. My girlfriend enjoyed fish and chips while I enjoyed the pork belly with scallops. For such high quality food and service I'd say that prices are about the right mark for the quality. We'll be back soon to our new local!

What a rip off. Asked for a glass of house white. Offered sauvignon or pignot. Picked the sauvignon. Bill came and had been served the most expensive on the menu by over 2.50 a glass.

We normally visit twice a week for a lunchtime drink and are always made to feel welcome so we popped in just before lockdown for a last drink for 4 weeks. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. A special shout out to Nicole who never stops smiling and she always laughs at my rubbish jokes. The food is excellent would recommend this place. See you all after lockdown Sally and Jim

If the treatment of distressed travellers are anything to go by, I would give the pub 6 stars out 5! I and my disabled lady passenger travelled back from Cromer earlier that day and my Sat Nav was clearly broken and I was very tired and very lost. Niah and her manager, Nikki, kindly gave us written directions and installed an app on my IPhone to enable me to reach home in Milton Keynes. They even offered us a drink and went beyond the call of duty to ensure we were fine and ensure we arrived home safely. Please can this special praise be noted to your employer and we fully intend to visit the pub for food and drink in the not too distant future. Heartfelt thanks ladies!! All the best for the future. Sam and Davina.

Not sure if they are doing track and trace but the only information they had was my own as I made the booking- and not of my other guests who were at different addresses. The food was average really, quite expensive for what it was and nothing out of the ordinary. Despite advertising a Vegan menu, they did not have a vegan menu and said it was in the main menu, which there was not a specific location for it. Forced to pick out the dishes you could eat from the main menu. The toilets were not kept clean on the night, somebody had been sick in one and it wasn't cleaned up ! not very nice for a meal out , more of a pub rather than a restaurant if they can't keep on to of the basics. The young lady who served us was pleasant and such a shame the rest let it down really. Won't be returning !

When we arrived there was a lively atmosphere that felt exciting. The staff were super friendly. The good arrived quickly and the dish I had - chicken was amazing. The chicken was tender and moist and delicious and had me reminiscing of the times when I had chicken with my dad as a kid. I really had a good time.

We had our young farmers Christmas meal here. Fantastic from start to finish. We pre ordered our food as we were a party of 60, the variety on the menu considering the size of our group was brilliant. The quality of food was outstanding, served altogether as much as possible. 3 courses for £33 was great value for the quality of food and service we got! Would definitely book here again, lots of great feedback from those attending. Well done to Ash and the team, you were great! Can’t fault it in any way.
