I am a regular at Eagle Pub Cambridge, and I love it. The staff is very friendly, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is lively. I have been to many pubs in my life, but this one has become my favorite! Also the fish & chips is excellent ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹

The RAF bar! Very historic. Nice outdoor seating. Really good food. Central location. Some good veggie options. But I did not see any ventilation indoors and it smelled stuffy, so stay there at your own risk. But you can sit outside with parasols.

It's pretty cool to see the commemorative plaque at the table where DNA was discovered. The atmosphere was lively, I guess people were there for the fame because the food was just ok. The beer was good though.

The pub fills up quickly. You find your own table and then go order and pay at the bar. We sat where they announced the discovery of DNA. Nice atmosphere, food was quite good actually especially the aged ribeye. If you do not drink beer, drinks could be a bit limited in choice. We always try to pop in for a meal when we visit Cambridge.

Had lunch here with the family. The fish and chips was average. Great service, great atmosphere. The place is spacious and has lots of notable historical moments attached to it. Would recommend for the experience!

An excellent interior, cozy ambiance, friendly staffs, scrumptious food options. At a stone-throwing distance from the Kings college and most importantly has been famous for centuries by the Cavendish lab guys and specially the pub for Watson and Crickโ€™s DNA discovery announcement. What ele do you need to stop by when in Cambridge?

Really nice place to eat, drink, relax, to breathe in some of the science, history, culture of Cambridge and be part of it. A special place where the two professors announced the discovery of the wonderful world ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŒ of DNA ๐Ÿงฌ. Dog ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ• friendly ๐Ÿ˜„ too.

2nd oldest pub (but older building) in Cambridge, fantastic history with the RAF signatures on the ceiling, worth a visit for that alone. The food & atmosphere are also great. We popped in for a small late lunch, the vegan sliders are top notch. We enjoyed the food so much, we visited the next day for a full lunch. We had the full vegan burger & the steak, both excellent. Sticky toffee pudding dessert is also recommended. Good selection of drinks, good music, staff very friendly - for us, it is the place to visit when we return

Definitely a place to visit if you are traveling for the first time to Cambridge. The atmosphere is nice, and even though we couldnโ€™t have the DNA beer, still others were good. Recommend their fish and chips and also the pie. Both were great๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

This place is so cool and filled with history. There's are blue plaque commemorating when Crick and Watson announced their discovery of the structure of DNA there, while another section has WWII graffiti of soldier's goodbyes. Drinks were delicious and there's room to sit inside and in a courtyard.

Today we have visited this bar and we do every single time we come to visit Cambridge. It is great place for the afternoon drink, especially in their garden. Food was 4/5 for quality and price. Beer great and cold. The waiter was amazing even it was so busy at the time we been. We spilled a coke onto our food while he was present because of silly accident and he kindly changed it for us regards it was our fault. Definately will come back again

It is a historical and fun pub in Cambridge. The staffs are super friendly. We asked for the spot where the DNA was first composed, the bar tender was very kindly showed it to us. The food is good. The drink selection is vast. We tried the DNA beer as it is the namesake. Overall it adds to the Cambridge experience and fun.

Lovely historical pub, built in 1667 I believe as a coach house. Gets quite busy but it has amble room and a small courtyard with large umbrellas and heaters. Food is amazing. Their roast (available Sunday's was delicious)Drinks are London prices, at least for a large wine (ยฃ8.19 250ml Pinot) but I didn't care as you pay for the atmosphere, the lovely friendly staff and to be somewhere other than a wetherspoons.

Amazing and Iconic place where DNA invention took place by a couple of students and also where the RAF ( Royal Air Force) pilots used to meet. There are a good variety of beers and local ales. Highly recommend.

Good food and service in this historic pub. The dining room we were in was a bit cramped, but we felt fortunate that there was a table that was immediately available. I had the sirloin Sunday roast, which was slightly dry, but with excellent flavor. The gravy that accompanied it was superb, as were the roast potatoes and the mixed vegetables.

Cool historic pub. Nice place to drink a beer and feel the good vibes. The roof is full of graffitis made with lighters by British and American pilots that fought during WWII. The whole place is signed by military and there is a lot of memorabilia. It is also supposed to be haunted. Anyway, step in and enjoy.

The Eagle is a far above-average Greene King establishment that's been around for a long time (not always as GK though). It offers a substantial selection of cask ales, especially at the separated beer bar area in the back. So if Abbot Ale (runner-up at the Championship Beer of Britain 2023, to the astonishment of everybody and the dismay of many) doesn't float your boat, there's plenty of stuff from other brewers (like Oakham Ales) to choose from. I wish other GK pubs followed this example. Housed in a beautiful Grade II-listed 17th century building (once a post office), the pub is gorgeous and comfy - even when busy. And it gets very busy often, as it appeals to locals, students and tourists alike. The nice beer garden to the side of the building is particularly noteworthy, but it's not easy to get a table there during peak times. Beer prices are all right for Cambridge, which is not exactly the cheapest area for drinkers, food prices seem sensible, too. Service was commendable, and ordering a drink at the bar didn't take too long.

A birthday treat from my dear friend, before we headed back to London after a nice day out to Cambridge. Nice food, lovely crispy fish and chips. In a perfect location, I must add. Although busy, I managed to get my food ordered and delivered to my table in no time!! Reasonably priced with a decent menu. Nice way to end the day out with a light dinner

Wow! This pub has an amazing history with the character to go with it. The food and drink were also great. If you like aviation check this places out. I could also see, if you want to have a meal during the dinner hour, make a reservation. Many tables had reservation signs on them.

My husband brought me to Cambridge on a work trip and this bar was very meaningful to him. It was great to learn about the history -- there is a pamphlet at the bar, lots of cool patches and signatures from pilots across the world on the walls. Food was great, beer was good, we sat inside and outside alike (outside had heat lamps) and loved every visit. Staff was friendly for the most part. Bonus: the gelato next door!

We ordered via the app, but they didn't even care about us. We waited 40 minutes but no one came. We reminded them and then they started to prepare it. You can go for the atmosphere.

Great spot for fish and chips with real.mushy peas. Tried the wings too and they were good. Bar is an RAF bar, walls and ceiling covered in history. Make you proud of 'the few'

Very, very cool place. It was crazy busy Tuesday afternoon between Christmas and New Years, but still pretty good service. Plenty of beer and food choices.

Really cool and historic pub. The food was great (I had fish and chips) and there is great history. Watson and Crick table is marked with a plaque but the ceilings at the back bar have historic burns from American and British air force soldiers before they left for war.

Strolling past the ancient colleges of King's, Peterhouse etc. We hit this pub in a busy tourist area. Good real ale. Had the house Eagle bitter by Greene King. Nice interior. Packed beer garden. Tourists piling in for food. As Inspector Morse observed...Real Ale IS food Lewis.

Historic place of Cambridge. The atmosphere was great. Even on a Sunday afternoon we found a place to sit for two even when the website to book a table said it was full all day. Great selection of beer and cider, and the staff was friendly and helpful in choosing. Food was delivered quickly to your table and was very tasty.

The memories on the walls and the history contained within is overwhelming. The pub is affiliated with greene king but has a specialty hamburger called The Eagle. Chicken platter had good wings and the nachos were very tasty but I found the tenders to be too crunchy. My wife got the 28 day aged sirloin and it was very tasty. I ordered a butternut Squash soup and it was decent. Come here for a good time with friends and family and you will surely overhear someone talking about the war. Sat in table 4 and apparently the gentleman enjoyed my company even! If you are in the military you can show your ID and sign your name on the wall.

A great place to visit for the history behind it and the nice atmosphere. Fish and chips, burgers and sweets were nice but the steak and ale pie dish was rather disappointing since in the end was just a pie without almost no meat in it. And this is the reason for the 3 stars.

Incredible atmosphere. Rich history. Delicious pub fair. Popular, so VERY crowded during meal times, but worth it. Semi-accessible, but would be a tight fit for a power chair.

Very well known pub in Cambridge. The steak pie and chips was very nice and served hot and not lukewarm. Good idea to reserve a table in advance. Has a small outdoor area too.

Great place for a pint and food. Atmosphere is great. Walked around the place for a few minutes and saw a group leaving a table so we grabbed it. Staff was there soon after to clean the table and then we ordered or food and drinks at the bar. About 15 20 minutes later it was delivered to our table and enjoyed.

The Eagle in Cambridge is a fantastic historic pub with excellent food. The menu offers a variety of delicious options, and the atmosphere is charming and cozy. It's a great place to enjoy a meal and soak in the pub's rich history. Highly recommended! In addition to its great food and historic ambiance, The Eagle in Cambridge is also famous for its connection to the discovery of DNA structure. Watson and Crick famously frequented this pub and it is said that they announced their groundbreaking DNA publication here. It's a must-visit spot for history and science enthusiasts alike!

One of the historic pubs in Cambridge that is definitely worth a visit. The atmosphere is nice, there are a few rooms with tables and a garden. However, the tables are quite close to each other, so they a bit cramped. It was packed for lunch but we managed to find a table. The service was good and quite fast, prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, toilets, which are located on the lower floor, weren't that clean. The menu has different options, and there are daily specials. I tried the special chicken and mushroom pie, which came with mashed potatoes, sauce, and carrots. It was good but needed a bit more flavour. My partner had fish and chips, which were crispy, but the mashed peas needed more seasoning.
