Visited for lunch and an event at their Jazz Club. Lunch was superb and the Sunday roast is one of the best I've had for a while. Jazz Club was a great small venue

Great little pub with lovely atmosphere, great food and fab beer. Superb views of the majestic River Thames, just opposite. What’s not to like? 🍻

This pub boasts not only great views but also a lovely atmosphere and great food. Check out the programme for live music, which happens regularly.

Fantastic pub and amazing food, we were recommended to come here by one of the staff from another local business, he promised us the food would be amazing and it really was, another favourite to the list .

Good pub by the river. Great indoors but no outdoors as it is on the road straight by the river. Cosy inside but decor is more pastiche and less authentic than others locally. Still, good choice of drinks (it is a Young's pub). Didn't eat but food dishes looked great!

Pros: nice location and interior Cos: the white wine (Pinot Grigio) was literally vinegar, the Pale Ale watery

We had Sunday roast chicken and roast pork. Very tender & tasty. I cannot understand this general(?) obsession with an over cooked Yorkshire pudding with everything that is tough to cut, too hard to soak up the gravy and gets in the way of appreciating what is actually a very good meal.

A true 'hidden gem', The Bulls Head is one of my favourite pubs in London and has a back room where I've been privileged to see some of the best live music this city has to offer. The Monday night jam night is a highlight with guest performers every week. The staff are very friendly and it has a very relaxed, laid-back energy which is sometimes hard to find in London pubs.

Reserved an area to celebrate my birthday on Monday and it was just perfect. The little side room on the left was exactly what we needed and staff were super attentive and friendly. Thank you so much!

We had a private lunch to celebrate our Silver Wedding anniversary in the Melrose Room on Sunday 3rd December for 17 people. We had a lovely time. The food choice was good value, tasty and well prepared. The service was great. Everyone in our party had a wonderful time. Josh and his team did a great job, No hesitation about recommending this as a great venue for a celebratory meal.

I had such an enjoyable time I needed to review twice!! Food is absolutely delicious (I had the halibut), pub has a great atmosphere and the staff are lovely. Special shout-out to Fern and GM Lauren, smiling the whole time. I shall definitely be back!

Lovely atmosphere, jazz area is a place to relax and unwind as well as get with the music. The bar is organised and well kept by the barmaid Tasha, Lynda and Codie all very friendly faces welcoming you in.

Went there for some music, nice small venue round 100 people. Unfortunately we contracted covid and feel it was from the small sweaty venue. Not that it's their fault as we did not wear a mask and sat there for round 3hrs. Please wear a mask while in a venue like this. Had food afterwards in the pub which was excellent, highly recommend it.

Nice pub with decent food but long waits. Despite the stated 15-min reservation arrival window, and the dining room being at most half full for the entirety of our Sunday lunchtime visit, our food took an hour to arrive, which was a shame.

The Bulls Head hosted my 50th in the Melrose room upstairs, which was a complete success. From pre-arranging food, drink and logistics with the lovely Lauren and Mischa to the excellent help on the night from Louis, Ben and Tasha, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Slightly on he pricey side, but the food turned out to be excellent and good portions. The room was a perfect size for our 50 or so guests and was decorated well with a Christmassy feel. I was able to have a DJ and the small adjoining room was great for serving food and fitting a Photobooth. Thank you for a fantastic night, will definitely be back for a quieter drink and meal!

The Bulls Head is quite a long way for me, but this pub has quickly become one of my favourites. Love the pub and its great little live jazz venue and atmosphere.

Lovely, spacious premises with an outdoor facility. Very dog friendly. There isn't designated parking but the high street has lots of parking. Service was slow and slightly disjointed but the food was worth the wait. Friendly staff and restful atmosphere

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Bulls Head, and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The first thing that struck me was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Bulls Head has that cozy, traditional pub ambiance that makes you feel right at home. It's the kind of place where you can relax with friends or enjoy some quality alone time.

Splendid 200% British ambiance in the pub, where the dinner was served. Excellent food throughout (Lamb shank for me with perfect side vegetable). Friendly service. Amd the jazz room is a must.

It was a shame that we visited on a day where the gravy was absolutely awful, as the rest of the food was good (though not fully sure why they deliver it on such small plates!) Luckily the experienced was saved with wonderful service from Lucy who was by far the most helpful and informative member of staff.

Had a lovely lunch here while walking the Thames Path. Excellent food, beer and service

Nice pub with jazz room out the back. It is a good small club venue more suitable pre-pandemic. However it really is a breeding ground due to lack of ventilation, as I discovered to my detriment, so do wear a mask in there regardless of eased restrictions. There was only one unisex toilet in operation in entire pub during our visit which meant less opportunities for people to hand-wash etc. Nice fireside seats near the front and food was so so.

I couldn't be happier with the way my family were looked after at the Bulls Head. Over 20 of us had Sunday lunch, kids everywhere, great food and a great afternoon in the Jazz Room (thanks Angus and Will). A fabulous afternoon was had by all.

First time visit to see a band and have lunch. Lunch first: I opted for Silverside of beef which was nicely cooked with plenty of veg but, in truth , the Yorkshire pud wasn't very good - way to dry. My partner chose the Roast Chicken which was a touch dry. A bit overpriced but this is London and there are inflationary pressures. ! Service excellent. The band - The Liz Owen Band were great, as was the beer! Good location and will go again.

We had a great lunch for x15 hosted in the run up to Christmas. Nicest staff and best service in Barnes. Some of our guests weren’t crazy for the food but my pork was 👍.

This is a really friendly pub. Beautiful location, friendly atmosphere and staff, great food, and you can see some fantastic live music here. Don't miss it!

It’s been a long time since I visited the ‘Bull Head’ in Barnes. It’s always had great staff who were friendly and gave good service. Sadly, last night even after booking a table the staff seem to be surprised when we arrived complained that they were short staffed and seemed fed up if you wanted to order. The food was average, with mean portions and several items were off the menu. Tables were full of empty glasses. and we had to clear a table as we were then told the restaurant was closed.

Poor roast. Overcooked beef and not very hot. Mentioned to waiter who kindly threw in a coffee and pudding by way of apology. Young's Roasts aren't what they used to be sadly. Burgers all round next time.

I was always passing it by just to visit its neighbour, now shutdown. The Bulls Head's beer range is rater short but of good choice. Food, well it is something to try, yet. So far I had only French fries. Pub offers space for venues and they have regular Jazz bands at the back room, which is very popular. It is different in many ways to the closed Watermans Arms but after my first visit it doesn't disappoint. There is some vibe there. Staff is friendly and helpful, which make your visit pleasant

Good jazz evening in the rear Jazz Room, a small cosy but windowless room in back alleyway of pub with limited seating for maybe 20-25 ish people. But all was redeemed by the excellent Simon Spillett Qrt tonight, 60s bebop at its very best, especially the Tubby Hayes numbers ... energetic and delivered with passion by Simon on tenor sax. Alex Bryson piano terrific too as were all of the quartet! And btw the Youngs Special bitter £5.35 a pint was lovely as well. An enjoyable night out.

Quite pricey food but good veggie options. Had a really nice high quality veggie roast on a Sunday there. Good views of river and nice music. Staff are lovely too!

Standard pub menu of around six items but no fish and chips. Expensive. The poor menu is a big shame as the room and situation is lovely. This could be so much better with an inventive varied menu and become a proper food experience. Given the other options in Barnes cannot recommend eating here.

Deserves at least 7 stars.....not an entirely happy day for me , turned into a comfortable chilled out one... mostly due to an attentive , cheeky and jolly staff...the Welshman , James , made my day.... cheerful pub , lovely views and good beer...go back there as a preferred choice any day....

The Bull's Head has been hosting live jazz for the last 50 years. Small intimate venue, tickets way cheaper than Ronnie Scotts and other London jazz clubs. Brilliant Mark Buckingham and the Groove Warriors over the Queen's Jubilee weekend (June 2022). Live shows 3 times a week. Set in the lovely village of Barnes. If you love classic jazz you're missing a treat if you don't visit!

I love this pub, it s cosy and nicely furnished BUT Sunday lunch yesterday was poor sadly and not well managed. Great shame.

I had the vegan roast - only one I could find in the area. I enjoyed it, except the Yorkshire pudding which was a bit dry and could have had a few more fresh greens. Service was good and quick, despite rugby match rush.

Really so experience. I've been here a few times and they're always quick, the food is reliably delicious, priced reasonably and a great place to come and visit when it's a little cold outside! Love the decoration of this restaurant and how quickly the food comes out and how lovely the staff are. Really convenient location and would definitely recommend as a lovely place for drinks & lunch!

There is no place in London I’d rather be than the bulls head on a jazz night. The atmosphere, service and food is always top standard here and is perfect if you don’t enjoy the booming bars of central London, whose sole mission it is to deafen you, and would rather have a nice evening over good food and good music with friends. The high standard appears to be maintained throughout the day too with their delicious burgers and not to mention possibly the best scotch egg my family and I have ever tasted. All round a great pub and well worth a visit.

Abysmal service. we were left for over half an hour with only water. Waiter had no interest, and people arriving after us were served before. Took about an hour to get any food, however, even when we ordered wine, the drink never came. When I asked about the wine, the waiter brought the wine menu over, forgetting we'd ordered it 20 mins earlier. I asked for a water refill, once again ignored so had no drink for about 20 mins. Had to remind the server we'd ordered water refill. Because of delay in getting food, we missed the beginning of the gig. We won't be back to eat. The music was excellent though in the Jazz room (Groove Warriors). Will be back for music.
