Lovely pub with great food. Very friendly and personable lady who served us yesterday and took time to chat to customers despite being busy. Please support this local country pub.

An absolutely fantastic experience. We received such personal and warm hospitality from Sophie M who made it an unforgettable day for all of us, thank you ❤️. And the food! Excellent fish and chips - a huge kids portion 😋, lovely vegetarian bruschetta, really good burger and the most wonderful skinny fries with out of this world truffle topping. And we didn't even have the special valentines day menu. Thanks again and see you soon.

We had our sons christening meal here and Dan and Liz could not have been more helpful and accommodating to my many questions and requests! Aside from that the food was AMAZING!! massive portions for a really reasonable price too! And the children really enjoyed the play area! Out of 40 of us no-one had a bad word to say! We will definitely be back!

Ordered a 3 course Sunday lunch which I collected. Starters was a prawn cocktail with focaccia and butter followed by roast beef, roast turkey, massive yorkshire pudding, 5 separate veggies, including honeyed parsnips and lashings of gravy. Followed by lemon meringue and ice cream, which we ate a couple of hours later. My wife said it was the best roast she had ever had, and I had to agree. Well done the Chequers Inn at Heaverham

Wow! Beautiful, olde worlde and full of character with a roaring fire. Much needed yesterday as freezing outside. Had a very warm welcome. Amazingly tasty and unusual lunch. A spicy pork wrapped naan. Yum! Would definitely recommend and am going back.

Went here for roast dinner with my husband. Staff is exceptional and the wine list was impressive. Roast was way too big, too saucy, too salty. Less is more sometimes. Will definitely come back after but will most certainly be ordering a different dish.

Stopped here for lunch today. Wife had the chicken pie and I had fish and chips. The food was excellent. Would definitely go back for that alone. And next time we’ll book! We were very lucky to walk in and be able to get food. It’s a busy place and wait times for food can get quite long if you’ve not booked ahead. To top it off, the lovely ladies working behind the bar today were incredibly warm, welcoming and friendly. There’s a lot of parking available and lots of outdoor seating which is great in this lovely weather. It’s an hour round trip for us to go to this pub, but I’m sure we’d do it again having had such a great time there today.

Delicious food! Went pre show at the Marlowe and had amazing mains, sadly didn't have time for pudding but they looked great!

A warm welcome was had as I entered this historic country pub in the Thursday evening. If the fire wasn’t enough, the big heart of the hostess saw to it I was looked after. The menu has all the pub classics plus some interesting foreign dishes thrown in for those more adventurous. The specials board added a small selection to the main menu’s abundance. Of the dishes I sampled the rarebit stood out. Unconventional and sumptuous, being served with a yolky egg, a portobello mushroom and bacon. The taste left me in hog’s heaven. Service was excellent, perceptive, caring and jocular. Another excellent meal at a Kent pub. Great value for money and comfortable. Maybe next time I’ll be a bit more adventurous and try the Fish Taco or one of their Korean dishes.

Good beers, Sunday roast had a good range of options. Portions were crazy big, kids meal was huge and adults portions were enormous. Definitely no room for desert. Was a bit too salty so loses a star for the quantity over quality vibe.

I'm a frequent visitor to the Chequers in the summer months - can't fault it, the beer garden is massive and set back from the (very quiet anyway) road. Beer is looked after very well and the food is gutbusting and gorgeous!

We had a nice Sunday dinner here and notably the staff are very friendly and thoughtful. Nice garden and play area with chickens too, and they offer half portions for kids. Very yummy!!

A lovely country pub with excellent food and attentive staff. We called on a wet Sunday afternoon. The lamb shank was tender, and the vegetables were both perfectly cooked and generous in quantity.

Lovely historical pub in a beautiful location. 2nd trip and the Sunday roast was great and all the meals have been good.

We had a lovely meal in the chequers last night, i ordered a spicy chicken fillet burger and my partner who is gluten free ordered fish and chip, the fish and chips were delicious, light crispy batter, moist cod flakes and home made mushy peas and tartare sauce, the burger was nice too but not as good, and although we loved the chequers, it was a little pricey at over £70 for a mid week meal for 2
