Great little pub for a lovely meal after enjoying a walk in the beautiful Frittenden countryside.

An absolute gem! The quintessential village pub where you are assured of a warm welcome by Landlord Sean and Landlandy Rosie, whether you are a regular ‘local’ or just passing through. The food is very good and not at all pretentious - the usual pub classics but often with a local twist eg burgers using venison shot locally by one of Sean’s friends, game terrines and smoked dishes all made from scratch by Sean etc. Beef and lamb is often from the farm less than half a mile down the lane. A good selection of ales and lagers - Goacher’s Fine Light and Harvey’s are wonderfully kept - as well as reasonable wines. The pub has a good mix of all walks of life from around and about, and is dog friendly. And if you get chatting to Sean and you are nice to him he may tell you all about the Frittenden treacle mines!

Can't comment on food as only popped in for drinks but a great village family atmosphere, excellent pint of Harveys and great service.

Partner and I stopped by for an unplanned roast dinner and were able to confirm a table when we were only 10 mins away. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Roast was lovely and we'd definitely pop back if in the area.

Lovely owners and friendly locals. Went on a beer festival weekend and was very happy. Nice choice of drinks. Food is good also. Don't miss this hidden gem if passing through.

Good, honest community pub. No flashy lights, zinc bar and loud music. And it is all the better for that. This is a good pub that serves good ale and has a fine menu choice. It is blessed with a lovely landlord & landlady who know what they are doing and can host big groups if arranged in advance. A very fine rural pub. I hope hell freezes over before this place stops closes.

A family gathering of 14 for a birthday dinner. A wide selection ordered from menu. Fully enjoyed by all. Excellent food and despite variety of order all served very quickly. Shame 5 stars is the limit. 14 highly satisfied customers.

Stopped off here for a light lunch as partner used to drink here years ago. What a gem! Such a cute and cozy traditional pub. Lunch was fantastic and staff were super friendly. Highly recommended, lovely place! 👍

What a friendly and delicious visit to a very comfy pub during our hike. If we had to make a tiny change, we would have preferred the fries on a separate plate so there is more space to cut the steak and they won’t be soaked with the meat juice. But everything including the fries was very good. And we can only recommend to time your hiking lunch break with this pub.

Nice pub with good food and ale. Let down by the coffee which was weak and overpriced.

If u r looking for the best traditional British pub, with the warmest welcome, great selection of beers and excellent food (unpretentious British favourites cooked consistently brilliantly), look no further! In a beautiful Kent spot too!

One of the best pubs you'll find - great beers that the landlord takes a lot of pride in making sure are served to perfection, great food and above all, a lovely friendly atmosphere. You won't regret a visit!

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived at this traditional, friendly, village pub. Absolutely no complaints about our meals or the excellent service we received and the bar has a fine selection of drinks and again, with the same great service. Looking forward to returning in the future to enjoy this pub again.

👍👍 This Weatherspoons is quite a bit different from the average 'spoons. Set in an old opera house, they have managed to keep so much of the original interior design and decor in place, making it incredibly eye catching. Be sure to visit the upper floors if they are open. The staff are friendly, and t...
