As
per
usual
we
had
breakfast
at
Spur
on
Christmas
morning.
We
visited
Minnesota
Spur
at
the
Point
in
Mossel
Bay,
as
we
did
last
year.
We
arrived
near
9:30.
Despite
the
restaurant
still
being
fairly
empty,
our
drink
order
took
very
long.
We
ordered
our
food
as
soon
as
the
drinks
were
delivered.
We
then
waited
for
over
an
hour
for
the
food
to
arrive.
When
it
arrived,
the
food
terrible.
Everything,
including
the
plate
was
cold,
the
chips
were
dry
as
if
it
had
been
made
hours
earlier,
even
the
toast
was
cold.
My
friend's
sundae
on
the
other
hand,
was
melting.
Furthermore
the
portions
were
small
and
inconsistent.
Since
we
didn't
want
to
wait
another
hour
for
the
food
to
be
delivered
(hopefully
warm
and
in
better
condition),
we
had
to
eat
there.
Despite
this
poor
and
frankly
disappointing
experience,
the
manager
was
only
willing
to
give
a
25%
discount,
for
food
which
was
ice
cold,
with
over
an
hour's
wait
time.
If
I
could
go
back
knowing
what
the
experience
would
be,
I'd
rather
have
cooked
at
home.
You
don't
even
need
a
matric
to
cook
and
serve
food,
yet,
it
seems
even
this
simple
task
is
too
much
to
expect
from
this
restaurant,
which
should
be
used
to
doing
it
every
single
day.
The
waiter
was
very
friendly,
but
a
waiter
should
follow
up
on
food
and
be
the
last
step
of
quality
control
before
it's
taken
to
the
customer.
Having
been
a
waiter
in
my
teenage
years,
I
would
not
have
served
this
food.
Had
service
like
this
been
given
in
Pretoria,
the
restaurant
would
close
down.
And
high
volume
is
not
an
excuse,
as
the
restaurant
was
maybe
35-40%
full.
I
do
not
believe
this
is
the
service
that
Spur
SA
wants
to
give.
Having
grown
up
in
Mossel
Bay,
and
with
the
Point
being
a
landmark
of
the
town,
it's
sad
seeing
another
franchise
destroy
the
experience
at
the
Point,
which
we
hold
dear.
