Die Ou Pastorie Teetuin

Restaurant

👍 A very peaceful venue in the heart of Groot Braak. The gardens are really beautiful and calm. There are many things for the home that you can buy.. This is really a cafe, mostly serving tea and breakfast items. I went around 12 pm and had French toast. I wasn't overly impressed but they were nice... People often mention garden, nice, shop, coffee, friendly, gift, service,

What a lovely place! Make sure to visit and enjoy the sweet and shady garden full with flowers. Cute bakery inside, together with a little gift shop. Have not eaten here but will in the near future.

This place is situated in the main Street of Groot Brak River in a garden type setting There are a few statues and a shop that sells many interesting treats and curios . We had some traditional South African jaffles which were very tasty The atmosphere was very relaxed. The service and prices were reasonable as well. Nice little coffee shop. There are tables inside as well

It is a beautiful place for friends and family to eat, chat and relax. Once entered you feel welcomed, cozy and comfortable. You can eat indoor and outdoor. Excellent interior design. They have interesting corners that sells snacks, sweets, crafts, cards, home decorations, jewellery and all homemade! The food are brilliant and have a personal touch.

What a little gem. A beautiful garden with friendly staff and delicious food. The little shop is also nice to explore. I couldn’t find special parking for the restaurant but there is plenty of parking spots on the side of the road. There are 2 toilets and an area for baby changing. Especially cute is the small tables and chairs in the garden for children. There is indoor and outdoor seating in Case it rains

Was very pleasant, the waitress was friendly the chai latte was to die for and the scone was nice overall very clean and helpful staff. I came at closing time and they stayed open for me. Thank you very much for that. The garden was so peaceful I had to sit outside to experience the nature around me. A very nice coffee shop in my opinion.

Quaint spot with a garden and indoor setting. Peaceful and calming. Maybe they were just having a bad day but my coffee was overly strong (and I take a flat white with a fair bit of milk) and the quiche was so so, but I can see the appeal of the place. Would probably try it again. Service was good from a friendly waitress.

Great breakfast, excellent coffee. Well priced. Lovely little shop as well. Home made bread!

We waited at least 30 mins to be served drinks. The food was rather ordinary & over priced - R30 for an Earl Grey tea. Place is noisy & dark inside (load shedding). Struggle to get hold of waiters. Place is overrated.

Always a treat to visit this beautiful garden eatery and gift shop. Our coffee could have been hotter but other than that, food presentation and quality very good. Afterwards browse their gifts and baked and bottled goods.

Not bad for the 1st time. Will go back again. Their coffee was cold and a bit mean on the butter and jam. Will see if better next time.

Lovely old house set in a tranquil garden. Inside seating available but we sat outside under the shade of a big tree. Coffee came with a tasty mini biscuit on the side. The basic breakfast was good value for money.

It was a very pleasant experience, staff were friendly and professional. Food was great. Based on the number of customers the tea garden is very popular with the locals.

Wonderful experience! This quaint little gem is a treasure; once discovered! We; as tourists from the Free State; had the joy of enjoying wonderful cuisine surrounded by an old world ambience! The food and drinks were delicious and perfectly served; the service was on point; good value for money. There after we explored the store; which has a wide variety of gifts and pampering treats to buy for yourself! This was an unique eating and shopping delight!

With it's welcoming atmosphere, hearty meals and inviting fireplace for colder winter days the Ou Pastorie resonates a home away from home feeling!Follow their Facebook page for daily home-cooked meals ( I often make use of this option as a life saver after a busy day at the office or on the road when I don't have to cook and it keeps my husband very happy too!)Here you can also find the most exquisite gifting range, suitable for every age and taste!
