Great food, great vibe, lots of heritage. Brand new pool tables. Service and friendliness all around. If you are visiting Great Brak and not visiting Searles, you will be missing out!

Omg well worth the stop. Brilliant treasure cove hidden away of the main street! A lot of firsts experienced here! First pub where chef special looks like comes of a fine dine menu , also first where starters was so well portioned and made that take aways was required due to not bwing able to finish it all. Have to stop in again to get the mains we didnt get around to take.

Searles Village and pub restaurant is a quint restaurant with 3 sections. Smaller sit-down pub in the front with a TV which I assume is for sport but would not accommodate more than 30 people at a time. To the left under a garage-like structure is 2 large pool tables. The large main hall is at the back with tables and chairs for eating. In the one corner is a small stage for a 1–2-man band. The food is good (not exceptional) but the service is slow even on an average night. Caters more to the 40-plus age group and if you enjoy Lang Arm (Afrikaans Traditional dancing) – plenty seemed to be happening on the night I was there. The menu in the photographs is varied Pizzas, Burgers, Light meals, Sea Food Pasta, Chicken, and from the Grill. Most of the parking is on the street, but a small parking area within the courtyard is more for the disabled. All are on one level, so Wheelchair accessibility is good.

What a great place to go eat. A little hole in the wall in a tiny little town. The food was awesome. The prices were reasonable and the vibe was amazing. Definitely a place to take some time if you in the area.

We ate the pizza and pasta. Really good food and the waiter was quick and friendly with service. Kids enjoyed the play area.

I recently visited Searles Village restaurant and pub, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. The menu had a great selection of pub favorites as well as some more unique and creative dishes. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Searles Village restaurant and pub and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a casual but tasty meal.

Limited parking. Club sandwiches the worst we have ever had. Ambience helps but I guess this place will not survive.

We happened upon Searle's and incredible food surprised us. Those chunky, crunchy fries, and the scrumptious flavour profile of the combinations for wraps, pizzas, steak, schnitzel. It was a dream. Quiet, super efficient, and considerate service topped it off. I have mixed feelings about the experience. The menu is funky, well stacked, and enticing. The website is generous with the location and children's area, though. It's a work in progress for sure.

First time visiting. Nice location and interior. Unfortunately, terrible food. Service was great! We had a large table and there were a number of issues with the food, like missing ingredients and cold food. Management - I've seen your replies to other negative reviews but don't bother replying. 250 Rand for lamb kebabs and a dry potato? You forgot the onion rings, bud.

Portions various. Ordered the Seafood platter a couple of times, the price increases, but the portions are heavily reduced. Not value for money. Food is good, management not.

Very nice place for lunch! Got take out, with the burger and mushrooms sauce and the chicken Schnitzel with chips very nicely cooked, not dry. Just a good amount of food for lunch. Got the soft serve which was really nice a for a warm day! They have a very nice kid’s playground with tunnels, sand pit, bikes, climbing for the kids to play there for hours while you wait or enjoy a nice cool beverage. It’s pretty big inside and it looks like they have a band for music at night. Very clean establishment and very friendly people! Will definitely be back with my 3 year old!

This was a disappointing evening to say the least. None of the starters we wanted was available, my main course (prawn and mussel curry) was bad, it was supposed to come with savoury rice but I got chips instead. I am sure they used a hammer to open the mussels because their was hundreds of little pieces of shell in my dish. The prawn was a mush. And of course there was only dessert on the menu available, not that I was willing to try that. My companions all had meat dishes and seem to be OK.

Ordered fish and chips for R145 for takeaway and was extremely disappointed in the quality and size of the portions. Asked the manager if he thought the food we got was acceptable, and he told me "that's the standard". I've had good experiences in the past but it looks like their food unfortunately is at a lower standard now.

Surprising menu items. A bit expensive in my opinion. Very slow service. Very long wait for food. Good portion sizes but foccacia was dry, not enough sauce for a double schnitzel portion and a slightly burnt taste. Inside the restaurant was very dark. The bathroom decor is unique and interesting.

Food was amazing, but a little cold already when we got it. Nevermind, things can happen. Service was excellent, and Searles accepts dogs outside! Even a wster bowl was provided - many thanks. We'll be back!

Had a great experience! Very cool atmosphere and nice service. There was a setup inside for live singing and I was very sad that we couldn't visit on a day there would be a performance. My only disappointment was that we ordered burgers and they asked us what kind of sauce we wanted, which I didn't think was too strange, but then the sauce came on the side. I guess they figured that you'd pour it on the burger yourself? But it was really thick and I didn't really have any utensils perfect to do that and if I'd tried then it would have been pretty messy - I put a little on but didn't do a lot, and the burger was pretty dry without it. I really wish they'd have just put whatever sauces they thought made the burger taste good and put a reasonable amount on top of it before giving it to me.

A pleasant surprise. We were driving through looking for a place to have lunch. Searle's village restaurant was very pleasant with inside and outside tables. Friendly and welcoming staff, good menu options and well prepared tasty food.

Only giving two stars so readers understand that our review is sincere and because the owner and service tried hard. Our party of 3 had dinner on 3 Jan. The staff was friendly though very slow in bringing both drinks and starters. The food, however, was atrocious to the point of being nearly inedible. The chips and side salad were fine- normal, edible. The bacon cheeseburgers were terrible, with crumbly meat and rock-hard bread. One was served practically raw but the other fully cooked was also awful. The halloumi cheese sticks were enormous, the breading very coarse so absorbed oil and were heavy and greasy. JalapeΓ±o poppers were also enormous, oily for the same reason and not at all tasty. We wanted to like the place but this, combined with very loud music (we had to escape to a quieter table- thanks for re-seating) made this a very challenging experience.

On holiday in South Africa and our tour guide took us here one evening (he uses this place so we knew it must be good!). Great food - huge starters - and superb service; our waiter looked exactly like the English football player Jack Grealish to our amusement and his bewilderment!!! Wish we had this place in the UK!

We were there for lunch on a public holiday in peak season. The fact that there were only two tables with guests should have set alarm bells ringing. We ordered pizza and halloumi, with a note on the menu stating that all food was made fresh and from scratch, we waited patiently. After a 30min wait the food arrived barely lukewarm. I politely asked the waiter to please heat the food a bit more as it was cold. After a further 10min wait, the food arrived at the same barely warm temperature. As for the fresh and from scratch sign…. NO WAY!

Shocking quality on their takeaways. R135 for the hake that looks like bread soaked in oil.

Love the decor and setting of this place. Very friendly staff, good food but the drinks are a bit pricey. If the alcohol was a little less pricey, I would give it a full 5 stars.

Great vibe. Just need more vegetarian/ vegan options. I had the veggie ravioli! It was such a pleasant surprise... it was fantastic. Can recommend it to anyone.

Food well prepared and presented. Restaurant is family and dog friendly. I would however like to see a patch of immitation grass for the puppies and perhaps a water fountain for them too. That would be a cherry on the cake. (5th star).

πŸ‘πŸ‘ I enjoyed my time and food at 34 Degrees South. If you sit outside, you get treated to awesome views too of what can be described like Venice. Towards the latter part of the day, you'll see a gorgeous South African sunset (if there are no clouds). I had some wine by the glass, one of the few places...
