I really enjoy it every time that I come here😊 I always learn something new or see something different than I used to. The post office tree is absolutely beautiful and I love the story and history behind the shoe. If you're a geocacher or someone that loves history then this is the place for you. I think this shoe inspired the whole geocaching thing and it's so cool because I live in Mossel Bay. I wish they had the actual shoe tho. Highly recommend visiting

This may or may not be the actual tree, so says the sign at the tree. Even if it is there really isn't much to see. There are other older or larger trees around. Very skipable.

Very interesting to visit the place where the 1st Europeans landed in South Africa in the 1480s.

The whole museum complex kinda over shadows the tree and it's historical significance but tons of knowledge provided just plan on more time & more learning than expected.

The history is amazing! Just think its over 500years ago and you can stand exactly where Dias stood! Almost the same view he had! With a replica ship close by you can just experience the adventure and excitement! Have a walk around and vist the shell museum. Have a bit to eat and buy a gift !

Total waste of my money and time. It's a tree, that for the first 10 minutes in the area thought was just a normal tree and not THE tree, nothing special about it.

Not really special, but no entrance fee for the visit. They close at 6pm, nobody told us, so the door was closed and we had just by chance somebody who opened the gate for us again

The museum was under renovation but still got to see the old post office under the tree. Pretty cool to learn the history.

It's so great to see that the Mossel Bay Museum and Heritage Foundation are preserving that site so well. Something should be done to highlight the spring as well.

Quite interesting thing to visit. The 500 year old milkwood tree is huge, about 40 metres wide - we thought we were looking at a whole lot of bush then realised it is all one tree! Small entrance fee, I think it was R15, and lots of marine related stuff to see.

Historical. But new history is also forced down as well. So be educational to your kids as the crimes of the past is put to the front as very important and the line of discrimination can very easily be crossed.
