Christopher is a polite and competent guide. It's a beautiful walk which need no special knowledge about hiking. Christopher knows a lot of the area and the flowser around the cave. If you are around mossel bay it's an absolut must do to visit this activity. Walk takes around 20 minutes, another 30 minutes is for enjoy the view and take some pictures.

The booking experience was simple via Yuli and I paid with a card on the day. Christopher was our guide for the day. We met at Pinnacle Point Golf club house as planned, on time at 1pm . Unfortunately other guests delayed the start by 25mins hence only 4 star rating. Our 1st bit of the journey was through a tunnel with murals of South Africa, it's attractions and some history. It's a charity project in progress. Next on to the deck where Christopher gave us a detailed explanation of the various caves , findings etc going back around 164000 yrs. The views from here are amazing Off we went on the trail to the wooden stairs , 175 of them , down to the rocks and a few more walkways to the cave. Again amazing scenery and a few dassies/horax watching us Inside the cave many of the areas being excavated by the archeologists are covered by sandbags. Christopher again explained what they busy with and what the areas possibly looked like thousands of yrs ago. Another great pic opportunity Back up the stairs but a shorter trail back to the clubhouse where you can enjoy lunch or a drink at your own cost It was an enjoyable experience even if you not interested in history. Cost was R275pp

Beautiful setting. Quite a walk to get there. This is a really exciting archeological site. Wear walking shoes and take water. The mosaic tunnel on the way there is stunning. Definitely worth doing.

Must must visit place for all the beautiful views. Can be booked by Yuli . Designated time slots we started around 12, Christopher was our guide. He gives all detailed explanation about the area, one must visit place to listen to him, totally worth it. He will show u all the flaura and fauna and gives valuable information about the area. There is tunnel with mosaic art. Just wow, we saw old woman doing the work so patiently hats off to her😘 would love to see when it gets completed. The trail is just amazing. Good for kids n adults not for elderly as lot of wooden steps. We go near to sea n jst wow. Do visit n experience urself. The food just lip smacking at pinnacle.

Hidden treasure in Mosselbaai. It was impressive to walk in the cave and to learn from our guide Christoph. He's very passionate, it's contagious. A must see if you're interested to learn something during your travels, or to just enjoy the sea in a different way.

This is such a breathtaking place. It is so peaceful with beauty wherever your eyes follow. It is a journey to the caves with the little bit of a hike through the plants , the walk on the beach and the many rocks that you climb to reach the caves. Definitely and adventure.

Thanks for a most interesting tour to the Point of Human Origins at Pinnacle Point. It was most informative and Christopher is the most amazing tour guide who is really passionate about his subject, and presents his information in a clear manner. A beautiful short hike and 170+ steps down to the cave 13B , but the absolutely breathtaking views make it all worthwhile. And a lovely lunch at the Pinnacle Restaurant surrounded by the Ocean and clear views of the golf course. Happy to have made a spur of the moment decision to stop here on this, our first visit ‘into’ Mossel Bay. We’re always bypassing it. Will definitely be back and will be recommending it to friends and family to learn more about their ‘Origins.’ ps NB to book in advance.

Edit: The views are amazing. Wooden walkway in need of some maintenance. (We only visited Eden bay beach for some photos as our time was limited, the guided tour is on our bucket list for Dec 2022.)

Our tour guide was really well educated on the the Human Origins. He is very respectfull and even stopped when he saw we got tired. He had a lot of knowledge to share and it was absolutely wonderful!

A must-visit!! On your way down to the caves, the residents of Pinnacle Point is busy with a huge project to mosaic out a 50m tunnel.

  • 5/5 Alex G. 1 year ago on Google
At first glance, this is an unremarkable place. Small cave on the ocean. What made our visit interesting and memorable was the lecture given by our wonderful guide Christopher. He spoke with great love and knowledge about every blade of grass in the park, about plants, animals, history and every stone. With Christopher's help, we saw a lot of details that we would never have noticed. And of course we learned a lot of interesting facts. Thank you Christopher it was very interesting.

Very interesting tour of the caves with some beautiful views. The cave itself isn’t that visually impressive but all the interesting stories and artefacts make it worth it.

  • 5/5 Patricia 1 year ago on Google
They don’t make it easy to book. My advice would be to use the WhatsApp contact on the website. They respond very quickly to that. Email didn’t get a response. It was absolutely worth doing though. Christopher the guide gives you great info, not just about the cave and the history but about the local flora and fauna. He even spotted a couple of whales for us, but that was just a bonus. The cave is the star.

  • 4/5 Stephanie A. 10 months ago on Google
Beautiful hike down to the cave with our friendly guide, Chris. You have to book and pay to go down into the cave, but it is well worth it for the experience.

  • 5/5 Des & Nikki t. 1 year ago on Google

  • 5/5 Adrian A. 1 year ago on Google
We paid 577.50 Rand for two adults for the tour which was about 90 minutes long. There is a surcharge to pay by card. The tour was attended by two parties, my partner and I and a lovely South African family. The guide, Christopher, presented effortlessly in a combination of English and (I assume) Afrikaans. The tour was informative, but to a level that children could easily enjoy too.

This is an amazing place, something you only see in pictures and to experience it first hand was nothing short of wow. The walk is a bit pricey however the guide Christopher was friendly and accommodating. Booking process isn't something you just know about but the guards at the estate are helpful.

Ideal for the person or group interested in learning about life many years passed. Really great learning experience made even more enjoyable by our great guide Christopher, very well versed and knowledgeable on all topics and matters relating to the caves and how life was back then. Expect some gorgeous views along the trail that leads up to the caves as well as a fair amount of stairs to climb but that's all part of the fun. The tour starts off at the Pinnacle point golf estate clubhouse and lasts about 2 hours.

In Mossel Bay were found several caves that were inhabited by our ancestors 200.000 years ago. Found during the construction of a golf course, this discovery is quite important because proves that earlier than we tough, our ancestors use tools.
