Went to the Co-op for lunch today and grabbed this beauty of a burger. I do not know who made the food today but not good, the person can make others sick doing stuff like this. As a member of the Co-op I am concern about food quality now and quality assurance of the prepared foods.

An organic market built in the lens of Whole Foods, yet 100x better. The selection of local produce is amazing, as is the beer, and the prices. The staffers are very friendly as well.

Cheers five stars for fantastic food and timely checkout . I mean even in a rush hour pinch the frustration of waiting in line isn't added by waiting for the only open checkout . No self checkout frustration which slows people down as well, and personally I can't stand when I have to check myself out. The reason I'm giving five stars for this establishment is of utmost respect for our community, great customer service, in fact I give props that they have public restrooms in this time of severe and a radical drug issues. let's face it, any other establishment in town wouldn't even let a five year old use the toilet and this is something that (I as a single mom) find a necessity .

Well-stocked grocery store with all kinds of items from organic and conventional produce, spices, cheeses, meats, flours, cereals, chocolate, and so on and so on. Very socially conscious store with incredibly helpful employees.

Pre-made sandwiches are alright, awesome selection of literally EVERYTHING... but the fact that the deli has been closed for months is extremely frustrating. There are certain types (not brands) of meats in there that you literally cannot get anywhere else. I’d rather be able to make multiple sandwiches for $10, than have to buy ONE for that price. If the sandwich counter is closed due to staffing and covid, there’s plenty of people stocking shelves, plenty of registers open, and there is 4-5 people manning the deli, then WHY isn’t it open? Even if it was just for 4 hours a day? Doesn’t make much sense to me. People barely buy the pre-cut deli meats as it is because they’re multiple days old.

Been going here for many years. There’s a new location now that’s brighter and more open (south end), but the atmosphere is this one is still pretty good. They have a good bulk section for snacks.

Cute little local organic strawberries! Awesome premade vegan options and a cute seating area with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your meal.

Our go-to, essential grocery store. We love the variety of local produce year-round. CM has lots of different delicious brands of packaged foods as well. You won't be disappointed. Something for everyone!

This is one of my favorite places ever. Fun, funky staff, outstanding selection. It ain't cheap, but I find that the quality is usually very high. The sandwiches, however, are fantastic. And the cozy eating area is one of my favorite wintertime people watching spots.

Hands down the best grocery store and grocery store community in the area. Awesome to-go food and awesome hot bar and salad bar with the best tofu! Friendly and Positive atmosphere. Well worth every penny! City market employees are the best employees you would want to interact with at any grocery store. They all have common sense and are great workers! I've never had a smidge of negative energy from either City Market Location in Burlington in the 14 years I have been a member and regular shopper. I am so grateful to have City Market in my community! Also City Market Donates so much money and food to the Food Shelf and they have the Cots Xmas Tree Sale every year! Great people doing great things! 👍🏻

The Deli food bar there at City Market has way over priced items. The burgers there don’t even have tomatoes, onions of lettuces. The prepared food quality there is subpar and with not variations as it was before the current chef took over. Do not expect there at the deli bar any “free-range” eggs (they are “cage free instead”), organic veggies or grass-fed animal meat there. However, you will be charged as it they were that! Just a small portion of potatoes, rice and beans with cost you close to $17. Beware!

Nice supermarket right downtown. Many choices and also great place to get some food and eat it in the place dedicated! I'll come back for sure!

City mkt used to be great, but it is at risk of turning into city hall park. It is often dirty, starting to look run down. The bathroom is usually filthy. So dirty they sometimes appear to lock it to prevent homeless people from using it to shoot up? I cannot tell. Service has also deteriorated, unfortunately - staff had me wait an hour for prepared food, only to tell me "sorry we are not making any more", no explanation. I went to the front desk to let them know.... Waited and waited, no one there. I could not even lodge a complaint. Come on city mkt, you can do better!

If you wanna good and I mean GOOD sandwich... go here! If you have foodstamps, no worries, you can still buy them! As long as they keep making sandwiches, I'll keep going! Way better than Subway or any other local spot I've been! 12/10 recommend! Just make sure yall go between 10-2! That's the only time you can get them made to order, at least for now!

ALWAYS great options and friendly staff. Great place to grab a quick cold lunch if you're in a pinch too.

Pretty nice place, clean, great cheese and good kombucha, I like going here with my service dog, she loves all the new smells. Theres a lot of good food here, I always go here for my cream top milk^^ The atmosphere is nice, but at least a little crowded all the time, so not good for those who have social anxiety or adhd, unless you wanna go early in the morning or right before it closes. The bathrooms often are kept up well, but not as good as they could be, but apart from that and the clutter, its a very nice place to go for groceries.

City market has very diverse staffing and they are all wonderful people. I enjoy meeting so many people that enjoy life without prejudice and I will always Love city market for that. You'll always see co op stickers on my bike and my car and truck.

Great coop!! Pretty similar to other coops I've been to, but this one has a very good coffee and desserts section

Love this market but the parking is awful! Local organic food and the hot bar is my favorite option for lunch. I work nearby so this place is amazing.

Great spot with tons of food and good produce for very reasonable prices. Also have a great beer selection and their a la carte food seems like it's pretty good. You always see people you like here too which is awesome. Huge shoutout to City Market they rule.

Farm fresh and local food at the heart of Burlington Vermont, but there is always a hefty price to pay. Sometimes they may not have what you’re looking for, but that’s okay. All the food is organic and local, which in return makes it delicious yet expensive. I highly advice against going here if you’re also a college student. Gas prices may be high currently, but it’s still cheaper than what you can get at, say, Hanfords down the street. Though, if you’re looking for healthy, local, and organic food, look no further!

Super clean and good variety of products. Small hot food bar. Super friendly and helpful staff. What I really appreciated was their mini food variety. Mini cheese blocks, mini jams, ability to take as many or as few olives etc. I wish they had a place like this near me.

Food quality - 5 stars Pre-made food - 5 stars Prices - a little high - 3 stars Lines - way too long - 2 stars. I know they like to pay real people living wages but if they can't get enough employees they should get some self checkout lanes. I've twice walked out of there instead of waiting. And I've waited 15 minutes sometimes. Hours - not open late enough - 2 stars. As the only grocery store downtown serving people who may not have cars, cutting back the hours so it closes at 9:00 p.m. instead of 10:00 p.m. is ridiculous. If this is a staffing decision then install self checkout lanes so you can have enough staff to do other things.

We just walked in the door and we’re confronted by a very passive aggressive mask warrior who was holding two masks in her hand. Common sense says “don’t put a mask on your face that someone you don’t know is holding and touching” because TOUCHING your face is way more risky than not having a mask on. Anyway I said oh we have our own and we put them on and I told her we won’t use ones that she’s touching because ya know, common sense. She walked away and didn’t want to hear any of it. I can’t believe what I am seeing in Burlington. People are walking outdoors with two masks on each and not washing their hands and touching everything. It makes zero sense. Anyway we were uncomfortable and left. The manager was nice and said he’d talk to her.

There is no experience like it! Those who come will agree. Great food, outstanding service, really responsible store looking out for the planet and for those shoppers who have special needs, like those who are neurodivergent (the soft lighting is so soothing). They are always willing to give me the tare weight of my own containers for the bulk items or the hot bar. The sandwiches are still great even though they are no longer made to order. The produce is always fresh and I LOVE supporting local farms. Don't forget to pick up some fresh baked bread from several local bakeries! Great place to buy things to feed your body and nourish your soul!

Awesome little store with nice, wholesome lunch options. Salad bar could use more variety, but otherwise, no complaints. The staff is always friendly and helpful, they have a great selection of local cheese and the health & wellness sections is almost as well stocked as the Vitamine Shoppe. Sometimes (and I find this is true for most co-ops) other shoppers aren't aware of their own space. I don't recommend going if you're in a hurry.

Neat grocery store that reminds me a lot of Whole Foods. Fresh produce, decent prices. Friendly staff. Small dining area adjacent to the store where you can sit for a quick bite or a sip of coffee.

😐 The men’s room has smelled like pee for years. They spent all this money upgrading the store from a Price Chopper to a Market32, and they didn’t do anything with the smelly old men’s room. Apart from that, it’s a beautiful store with wide, well-lit aisles. They have a large flower shop (and a separa...
