The monument is beautiful and tells the history of georgian culture and diversity. The monument is so massive you feel really tiny when wandering around, and the pillars are so rich in decorations you don’t really know where to look at. The place is open throughout the year and it's free to visit because there's no ticket issues. The best way to get there is either by taxi or your own vehicle. The place is far from the metro station and with a view of chronicles you'll also experience the view of Tbilisi Sea and bright weather and also snow during winters. There are large sets of steps on the way to the monument. Here people can overlook the whole of Tbilisi. It's a good choice for tourists to visit here, but few people come to visit the Chronicle of Georgia due to Tbilisi being a diverse city with a palette of attractions. Tbilisi sea is very close to the chronicle of Georgia. Best to visit during the day and during spring time with your family and friends or loved ones. The place has a very special vibe to it! Behind the rock pillars is a small chapel and when you walk around it, you’ll have an amazing panoramic view over the Tbilisi Sea and some of the suburbs in the city. Experience the culture and beauty of Georgia.

If you have 1 day to explore Tbilisi, its history, culture and landscape, come here! This site provides an excellent vantage point over the city, its surrounding hills as well as its history and cultural + religious spirit Not only do you witness the Georgian historic narrative expressed in the form of beautiful sculptures and murals, you get to see the Tbilisi lake and a majority of the city from here Witnessing the rolling hills in person is breathtaking and low-key disorienting. You'll feel like the city is folding itself up before you Can't recommend this place enough 🙌

One of the amazing things you can see while you are exploring Tbilisi is this huge Monuments Chronicle of Georgia. It's located quite out of centre of town, so you would need a taxi, or maybe a public bus to get here. We had rented car. Parking is no problem, it's free like entrance. Good thing there is also close by a beach which I found out when I arrived there, so take your swimming suite and take a bath if you visit in summer months. Visit this place when it's golden hour, sunset for best pictures. 😎

The chronicle of Georgia amazing view. Also very cold place, people who visiting this place in winter must carry gloves and fully covered clothes and some tissue paper for runny nose. And for washroom take right from stairs and washroom is not free you have to pay 2 lari per person and sometimes tissue paper not provided. Over all it was good experience enjoy your view it's must visit place for amazing selfies 📸 and videos and one more thing this place is not wheelchair accessible.

It’s on a different side of the town, the place seems pretty interesting. Entire Georgian history is engraved on these huge pillars. Just behind there’s a beautiful lake with a wide view. It takes around 30-45 mins to checkout each of them. If you’re interested in history do visit this place. A just a few steps to reach from the car parking.

I, as an ordinary layman, admired this gigantic monument. I don't really care about its author and his styles in architecture, I just wanted to see something new in Tbilisi. But after 10 minutes of browsing and taking pictures, there is nothing to do here. You can look at the panel houses on the left and the sea on the right, that's all. Worth seeing once, second time I would not go here.

This should be a must visit attraction in the City Tour list. Unique structure and one of its kind. Good for one time visit. Enjoy the fresh feeling in an open space with gigantic structures. This must be the first destination in the city tour and try to visit bit early. Try the freshly pressed orange juice near the parking.

Its hard to reach for tourists without a rental car but this is one beautiful place to take some great pictures. Located on top of a hill, you’ll get scenic views of Tbilisi. Must visit if you want some Insta-worthy pics! Just bear in mind, you’ll have to climb a long flight of stairs to reach the top ;)

Beautiful. View of the city and view of the lake. It's very cold up here so have to wear warm. We got here by bolt. It is quite a long drive from the city. Not a lot of people up here.

The Chronicle of Georgia is one of the most beautiful and biggest monuments in Georgia, located near Tbilisi sea. It was created by Zurab Tsereteli in 1985 but was never fully finished. The monument sits at the top of a large set of stairs. There are 16 pillars that are between 30-35 meters tall and the top half features kings, queens and heroes while the bottom part depict stories from the life of Christ. Such a stunning monument that I have seen. (1 June 2023)

It is really big, but it looks unfinished, needs to be carefully not to hurt yourself, otherwise it is nice and interesting place to visit with good views.

This monument in Tbilisi is like a big, impressive sculpture that tells the story of Georgia's history. It has cool carvings showing important things about the country. If you like history and art, it's a really interesting place to visit. People who go there often enjoy looking at the pretty sculptures and learning about Georgia's past.

One of the top tourist attractions of Georgia. The structure is humongous. It was built after the completion of 3000 years for Georgian culture and history. Must visit place. Make sure to go on a sunny day

A majestic (and gigantic) stone sculpture atop a hill overlooking the Tbilisi reservoir, not too far from the city center. It's not very crowded. The staff are very friendly and enthusiastic to talk about the statue's depictions of history. There's no entrance fee.

Definitely a place you shouldn’t miss when you’re here in Georgia. But check the weather first and don’t come on a windy day cause you won’t really enjoy it. The view is stunning! Feels like you’re in Greek era. There are scripts written in each cornerstones but they were written in georgian do we couldn’t really read them. Overall we had a fun moment and were able to take great photos

I love the place. Its a good thing to see this kind of sculpture and learn about the history of Georgia. Its not so far from the city. You can either take the taxi from the city center of tbilisi or take the metro closest to it then take a taxi. The view is stunning during sunset.

A great place e to visit for great views of the city and a rather imposing monument to the Georgian lands and history. The art is lovely. The monument is metal and not stone as it may seem from a distance but stunning none the less. It is also one of the few places that is rather peaceful in a city where it is always busy. It is a heat place to visit for an hour. The drive up is probably the most difficult part especially getting through city traffic.

Calm place on the side of city , on high point with view on city and " Tbilisi sea " as well. If you searching for a new place to visit in Tbilisi , this is the one, cause many people don't know about this place. Enjoy your time ❤❤

I really enjoyed this place. And we spent a lot more time there than expected. The view is just amazing from there. You have a view of a large lake, mountains and the city. We probably spent more time watching the view than the actual sculpture. The sculpture is nice though. We took a Bolt to get there. From the old city it was 15GEL. Make sure to take a Bolt, as there aren't any regular taxis waiting there.

It was the perfect setting for family photography, and we left with wonderful memories of our time there. Sometimes referred as Georgian Stonehenge (from distance it resembles), Chronicle of Georgia is one of the stunning places in Tbilisi. It consists of 16 pillars each 35m tall. On the monuments you will be able to see scene from bible, Georgian Kings, saints and historical figures who contributed lot to Georgian culture. Definitely recommend to visit the place, but remember that the spot where the monument is located is always windy.

Very Cold ❄️ weather during winter. The structure is huge and on top of a small mountain. It's so wonderful to watch the tallest structure. Beautiful view from the top. The sea view is also really calming to sit and watch.

Overwhelming beautiful and impressive. The 30-35 feet high pillars have the most intricate details carved in. No one was there when we arrived, it was a normal morning on Wednesday. Apparently it’s like that a lot! Would definitely recommend a trip. You also get to see the beach too. And lovely views of the city.Use bolt to get there and a bolt to get back. Very easy! Cost about £2.60 one way to get there (11 GEL). Worth the 20 minute journey!

This is a really unique monument which was interesting to visit and has a different view of the city. However, it is quite far from other touristic parts of the city. It's worth visiting if you have a little extra time during your trip to Tbilisi.

Most of the attractions in Tbilisi are located on the opposite site of the city so it shouldn’t come off as a surprise that a lot of people miss out on this spectacular place. The sculptures are magnificent and so much bigger than they look from far away. The views of the city and the Tbilisi sea are just breathtaking.

Beautiful, Beautiful place. First top (from below) is story of Jesus. In the middle is different story of different people poets, monarchs, diplomats and writers. The columns around the periphery have a third and final top layer, which reveals important Georgian traditions. Best viewpoint around city.

Don't be put off by previous reviews about how far it is from the city and how many steps you have to climb. You can take public transport here from anywhere in the city and it's not much of a climb at all. The site reminds me of the temple at Luxor, Egypt, with its engraved, towering pillars. Don't miss the church in the back either. Beautiful enamel work on every surface area.

Nice site to visit while in Tbilisi. Though this site is far away from the city center, it is really worth sparing some time and visit this place. The best and the quickest way to get there is to hire a taxi on bolt app.

This unfinished monument of Georgia history is a bit less imponent than I was expecting. Taking in consideration it takes a while to get there by public transportation + hiking I wouldn't suggest it to be on top of priorities for any tourist. Now, the reason I am giving it a 5 🌟 has to do with the amazing 360 views one can obtain while walking around the location. There's big soviet residential blocks on the northeast and the. Tbilisi sea to the east. Furthermore you can sneak good chunks of the city to the west.

  • 5/5 Nicole W. 10 months ago on Google
We got a bolt from Tbilisi in the late afternoon to the chronicles, not knowing what to expect and wow they were gigantic! We were so happy we visited and the view was also incredible. Make sure you take your own drinks or food as there were no shops there.

This place is honestly the most stunning place i have been. Not only for the monument, but for the views, i went after it had snowed and there was nothing quite like it. This is a must go to place in Georgia.

Stunning looking monument, authentic Gregorian culture at is best, definitely worth a visit. Has some very stunning views of the surrounding area too which are worth snapping with your camera! I recommend getting a taxi to and from the monument, and you’ll find it more enjoyable than trying the get public transportation and walking routes.

This place was not on my to do list but I am so glad that we ended up going to see this stunning site, the view of the city is amazing but the massive size of the Chronicles is nothing short of amazing. I would caution that there are a lot of steps to climb and I did not see any wheelchair access points so keep that in mind if you are traveling with anyone who may need assistance climbing the stairs.

Free entry. Must visit while in Tbilisi. how to reach? Book a taxi from Tbilisi (book via Bolt should cost around 20Gel). The gigantic pillars depicts the life of Christ. You get beautiful view from here. I visited early in the morning, and this whole place was just for myself. Security personnel was very welcoming. Highly recommend for photographers and nature enthusiasts.

Recently visited the CHRONICLES OF GEORGIA. Though we visited the place at night the iron carvings were extra ordinary, simply out of the world it was. The biblical scenes and the serene climate made it more spiritual. The entry is free of cost and is not much a crowded area. Guess it would be better to visit the place in the morning.

  • 5/5 mel a. 1 year ago on Google
No public transportation coming here so its easier to take a car or for tourists - let the taxi wait for you (use Bolt or Yandex to book and ask if they can wait for you). The view over there is very nice especially the one facing the sea. Come early in the morning as there are less people and you'd enjoy strolling around with a colder temperature. Aside from all the tours that you might get, I highly suggest that you come here - such a gem!
