👍 IMPORTANT- if you search "Thayer Beach" in Google maps, it won't bring you there. Look instead for 150 Holy Cross Road for the parking, then walk down the path to the beach! Decent beach! Easy to get to biking from Burlington bike path thanks to the bike paths Colchester put up along the roads! People often mention beach,

This beach is gorgeous and absolutely has the closest "ocean" feel and view. Pros Free parking in a lot. Beautiful and beachy. Quieter than most beaches in this area. Large garbage receptacle and Port o potty off of the beach. Cons A long walk for anyone who has to carry more then a backpack. You walk through a bit of marshland and can get bit by lots of mosquitoes. A fair amount of garbage was on the beach. No amenities, like bathrooms, showers, water fountains, garbage receptacles on the beach, playgrounds, etc. The swim area is small with no lifeguard. This beach is more appropriate for people who prefer a cheap option and don't mind "roughing it," if more privacy is important. I think I would love this beach if I came here for a sunset picnic and had a few drinks. I wouldn't personally call it a family friendly beach otherwise.

Cleanest beach in the Burlington area. Will definitely resturn next year. Nice nature trail on the way to the beach but make sure not to forget the bug spray its infested. Also don't pick the flowers listen to the warning. The woods are full of poison Ivy. If you avoid this to gotchas its a wonderful beach otherwise.

Don't know why this place has so many bad reviews. Seems like the cleanest beach in Burlington to me. Also has a nice nature hike to the beach. Only negative a lot of nasty bugs. Use bug spray before gou come down this gorgeous nature trail to the beach. Also be forewarned Do NOT PICK THE FLOWERS LIKE THE SIGN SAYS. THERE IS A LOT OF POISON IVY!!!.that being said everything else is positive to me. Not bad to swim except a little shallow but like I said prettier and cleaner than the other Burlington beaches.

We went here for the first time because we've told it was free and very family-friendly but we weren't told there was a pretty decent walk down to the beach from where you park. Not a deal if you're carrying a lot of stuff and the baby. Also numerous cigarette butts on the beach.

Really nice small area. Clean 3min walk. No dogs aloud. Perfect waters

THE destination beach in Colchester, for the beach and for boaters who toss anchor. Downsides include people who bring dogs, even though you aren't supposed to, and the smoking and drinking crowd, which is plentiful. It certainly is a scenic and beautiful spot though, and gets great sun for most of the day. The water is also clear, just keep an eye out for clams; if you step on one wrong you can slice your foot. I recommend this beach and will be back every summer myself at least a few times.

I only go to the beach from the Lakeside on my boat but my kids love it here! The place is pretty much a spotless of trash and garbage.

Nice Colchester beach that can be accessed by a bridge on land & by boat. The locals are friendly, and the beach is dog friendly.
