I'm a sucker for a great hardware store, and this open marketplace may top them all. There are of course the many shops with paint, nails, tools, floor coverings — you name it, but what I love here are all the giant motors, saws & blades, electrical devices and peculiar things (frequently from the Soviet era) I can't figure out at all and have to make up my own story for how and why they came into being. I only had an hour or so there for the first visit, but I'll be back. You really need time to wander and wonder. In a practical vein, I did find the size of washer I needed to shim my door hinges.

You will buy anything for your house repairs and not only, at Eliava Market. It is literal market with small businesses inside. The prices are much lower comparing to other huge repair shops in Tbilisi like Domini or Gorgia. Sometimes the price is even negotiable.

This place is the epitome of chaos, but you can buy absolutely anything here - from DIY materials to car parts - at most reasonable prices in the city.

You can find everything here- from building materials to interior objects for quite good prices...although it is a challenge for European due to its dirty side:) ...like Lilo

From building materials to fire extinguishers I think you'll find almost everything you need to build or fix a house here. There are many shops that sell the same product Too wide and you might get lost Mostly Georgian, but sometimes English is spoken Even foreigners could shop. very interesting place fun

Good place to find construction materials, car parts, etc. The place is an adventure in itself. Many little lanes and shops to explore. Even found some very nice little food stalls in there. The whole area is full of car service. If you try to find cheaper used parts including tyres, etc. this is a good place to go. Usually they are cash only. So come prepared. Also, no English in most places. But with a bit of effort you'll manage even if your Georgian is bad. Construction material while plentiful is usually the same everywhere. There's very little difference in quality of the stuff. However it's hard to bear Eliava on price. With a bit of digging and maybe some help from an experienced local you might find good gems. Pro tip, go early. Parking is limited and the place is generally very busy. It pays to be done before 12:00.

Worst service you can get. The pricing can be very good depending on your negotiation skills but unless you speak Georgian even that's not gonna happen. Take someone local or they'll gonna ripp you off

Very big market with great choice of materials for constractions, decorating etc. Here I bought room lights (the same, as in brand shop) 2 times cheaper.

This is truly a special place, worth visiting. I even offer tours through the labyrinth of stands and shops, car part seller and workplaces. If you live here, surely: sooner or later you need something from Eliava market.

Sure you will find what you're looking for but getting help is difficult. Salesman's mindset is absent and often you have a feeling that you're getting screwed

As far as supplies of building materials and ends and odds you've been looking for this is a great place! It is not well planned out so you may have to spend a lot of time searching different little stores and kiosks to find what you are looking for. It is also good to shop around... Don't just go for the first one you find, look around and if you speak the language (mostly Georgian - some do speak English though) try bargain a little.

kitchen appliances are much cheaper here than at appliance stores.

  • 2/5 Alexander A. 2 years ago on Google
You need to have cash (they mostly don't have POS terminals), a lot of free time, must be able to bargain, and you need to have a lot of patience. Still, probably you won't find any quality product at the market

  • 3/5 Giorgi T. 1 year ago on Google
Good place to find whatever you want for your household or car. But there are no signs to show where to find what you are searching for. Really terribly organized place and poorly placed roads, parking is far away and entrances are in really confusing spots

If you are looking for some tools or materials you couldn't find anywhere else, then this is the place. You will need some time and sense of orientation to find your way through as it is quite chaotic at first glance. The actual market is divided in sections where you can find a certain range of products. Electrical goods, carpentry, plumbing etc. I was impressed with the huge variety of items and very competitive prices . Of course you will not find anyone with a working knowledge of English. But that shouldn't be an issue. Nothing that a bit of improvisation and sign language won't solve.

  • 2/5 Emad S. 1 year ago on Google
Should show posted pricing shops have to be reorganized and rearranged Market does need proper zoning although located far from the city center, items are found expensive compared to those rated prices in Vake and Saburtalo. Market should work on providing quality products.
