This is one of the best museums I’ve ever visited in my life. It’s not the first one Aviation museums for me and I can tell you that in this museum you’d see all kids of planes. It’s full of planes, outside and inside the hangers. You would need more than an hour to see all of them. I was there with my husband and a 3 year old kid. And we all liked it. You won’t be able to touch the planes but you’d be able to take as many photos as you want. I truly and honestly loved this place🤩 and I’m recommending to visit it with your loved ones ♥️ The museum is free, you don’t have to pay, but there’s a box for donations. Please, leave some change for the museum to grow 🙏🏼 and there’s also a small bar for drinks and a small shop where you can buy some souvenirs.

One of the best Air Force ever!!! Recommend!!! Only pay 4€. You can get there by bus from highway and back. Open from 10:00-14:00 only.

If you are interested of aviation history this place especially for you. Here I found many goods of Spanish Civil war time and Phantom from song of my childhood. Also I understood the difference between helicopter and autogiro. Pay attention that entry is nominally free but you'll asked to donate at least 3 euro per person (and they haven't change from 10 euro for 3 persons). If the weather permits, you can walk from Cuatro Vientos station to avoid additional fee of bus tickets.

First - it’s free Second - it’s awesome! The museum offers several exhibits in hangars and outside. The entrance is free and you will be asked for a donation of 3 EUR per person for the maintenance of the exhibits. They are more than worth it. The staff here is very kind and discrete.

Exciting place to visit if you're even mildly into the topic. Well-preserved examples and replicas of aviation history going back a century. Well explained features and some very interesting Russian planes and helicopters made for a great morning with the kids. Free to visit although we contributed a voluntary fee for maintenance, a guided tour is recommended.

(Translated by Google) Hallucinated !!!, that's the word I have to describe my visit. I have never seen an airplane museum, with so much Aeronautical material. Lots of planes. Too bad the souvenir shop was closed by the covid. It also hurts to not even get into some planes like (caribu) .. The only downside is that they do not charge anything, and we are not used to it. They should charge something to maintain this beautiful museum, not enough with the tip, which people can voluntarily give out.

The museum offers several exhibits, either in hangars or outside. What you'll find here is the history of the Spanish aeronautical industry with very rare and unique items, found only in Spain. Hispano & CASA planes + gyroplanes are the main dish of this museum. You'll also find a Soviet helicopter, 2 Soviet airplanes used during the Spanish Civil War, several Italian, German and French early models of Aviation, various American planes and helicopters from the height of the Cold War, East German and Swedish jets, + a few Czech light planes. In all it is guaranteed you'll spend at least a couple of hours, even if you're not very inquisitive with every piece you come across. The sight is not enormous but it is big, so you'd better go early and fresh. It's not for a last minute gig. The entrance is free and you will be asked for a donation of 3 per person for the maintenance of the exhibits. They are more than worth it. The staff here is very kind and discrete. The bathrooms are orderly and very clean. Remember that it is a military installation, so try to behave.

This is a great, free museum! There are aircraft here that I have never seen before, let alone even knew existed. The exhibits are well laid out and organized in numerous buildings. Most of the signage is in Spanish with some in English. The helicopter section was pretty good and in a separate building. Usually its few odd ball choppers pushed in a corner, in a Canadian museum. Check the hours ahead of time. I believe it was open from 1100 to 1400. If you are taking a bus, good luck. I took #39 from downtown and then needed to walk about 5 km along a freeway and shady ares. Google maps direction gets me again! Drive or take a taxi.

(Translated by Google) We, and especially our two children, liked it a lot. The collections in the hangars are spectacular. We were surprised that there are planes from other countries, not just from Spain. In summer I recommend going in the morning, afterwards it is very hot and there is no shade outside. The only thing, it was sad about the issue of covid: there were many restrictions and closed sites. We will return after the pandemic to enjoy it more.

(Translated by Google) We were enjoying the family yesterday in the museum facilities (6 adults and 2 small children) and we were delighted with the visit. My most sincere thanks to all the staff who were working yesterday for doing their job so well with the intense heat it was doing outside and perfectly complying with the protocol to curb the covid, the kindness and attention they displayed, especially with my two children and the good work they have done with the exhibition set up in hangar 1. Today I received an email (obviously generic) thanking them for the visit and it is what especially motivated me to make the review. These details are what sometimes make the difference. Again, congratulations, we'll be back soon, for sure.

The museum is a nice place to visit, with lots of airplanes, old and more recent. Entrance is free, though adults are requested to pay a 3 Euro fee voluntarily. An exciting museum for children. The place is only open during the mornings between 10 AM and 2 PM. Calculate about 2 to 3 hours for the visit. For drinking there is a very basic bar and for souvenirs there is a small shop with some nice cheap things for children bit also more expensive items for adults.

This is a must for anybody remotely interested in aviation and visiting Madrid. The collection and it's diversity is staggering. It looks like nearly every type flown in the Spanish Air Force has been preserved. The collection is constantly being maintained and painted. The quality is very high and the early pioneers of flight us a great exhibit. There is a shop and this is full of aviation related merchandise. It's free to enter and we gave a donation. It's open from 10:00 till 14:00 and you need to get there early to get the most out of your visit. I want to go back as you can see more is being added.

(Translated by Google) Very entertaining even for me, which is not that I'm especially interested in engineering and the military. Ideal for children, even for those who do not stand still, with wide spaces and the possibility of leaving the hangars to take a run in the outdoor exhibition space if necessary. Although it is very easy to keep them interested because there are many things that will catch their attention. The collection of devices is stupendous, and there are plenty of curious details and unique, historical and more technical pieces for those with more scientific positions. Very neat and clean, it shows that it is assembled with love and dedication. It has a cafeteria, very simple and inexpensive, with outdoor tables where you can have a drink and recharge your batteries ("refuel"), and it has a menu prepared with great imagination, you must not stop reading it! There is an app with an audio guide, although the day we were there it did not work. I think the possibility of a guided tour is very interesting. We spent about 2 and a half hours, and we still lacked time. The Museum is free, but donations are accepted for its maintenance. Of course, I would pay to see it, the experience is very good. In fact, I have paid outrageously for far worse experiences. Finally, to say that you are perfectly prepared in COVID, the visit is perceived as very safe.

(Translated by Google) It was a discovery! Really a very complete museum, it has a great variety of airplanes, helicopters and light aircraft distributed in hangars and an outdoor exhibition. The security measures in times of a pandemic are very consistent, they have a route planned and staff who ensure that each visitor takes the relevant prevention measures. Besides all this, the entrance is free and at the end of the visit I received an email thanking me for having gone and with an informative attachment of the planes, quite interesting and unconventional. Without a doubt a place to repeat.

Great place to go with kids, but avoid summer days when its too hot..the space is open, with not much shade so might be tricky with all the heat..overall was good fun for our toddler ofb3y.o, though guess elder ones would enjoy it even more.

This museum has a huge display of planes and helicopters. Everything is organized and the personal is very friendly. Absolutely recommendable. Also very family friendly.

  • 5/5 Luis R. 4 years ago on Google
They have a large selection of aircraft used in days past and most look like they’ve been taken care of. The museum has aircraft outside and inside in like 6 hangars, all separate but well organized. There are a few space things and instruments used long ago like radar screens on display. I recommend using some sunglasses and uv protection since most of the things are outside so come prepared. There is a small gift shop too if you are interested in taking a souvenir with you. The only thing I saw that could help give it a little extra to the place was that maybe they can have actual working simulators for people to use. There are several real simulators obviously not working now but if they could get those running it would be nice.

Typical governmental owned museum. The collection of aircraft is super. Really a must see. The Spanish were not involved in the 2 WW. Therefore you will see really rare aircraft here. The personnel however does not want any visitors. Visitors just mean “work”. Go there by taxi. The road on Google Maps does not exist. It is a 2 kilometer walk down the roadside of the highway, from the metro/train station.. So,, take a taxi. Enjoy the collection...... its worth it.

One of the best aeronautics museums I've been in. To see such a collection of historical planes plus some very "modern" fighters like the mirage or the two beautiful SAAB. Plus, it's free to visit and the tour guide is simply superb. History, and specifically, history of the aeronautics is respected here. Would I ever get to be so old that there will be a eurofigher or a f-18 in the museum? One can only hope. The only bad thing is that this superb museum does not get enough money. They have space to display more pieces (I've heard that they will even have a A-400!!!) but they lack funds. So please come and give your money to them, as I did. What is better than to fund museums? This is "the Padro of planes", go, visit and donate!

Nice place to view big amount of planes and immerse into the history of aviation. Keep in mind that nobody there speaks English and you can't get audioguide here.

Amazing museum. Arrived late, however I rushed and within 90 minutes I was able to see all 7 hangars and about 1/4 of the aircraft outside. I even got to purchase a cool shirt at the gift shop, great prices. All staff was courteous and helpful. I will be visiting again.

If you like planes, or anything remotely related, this is a must must must visit location. If you think you'll need 2 hours, plan for 4 and you will still feel like you need more time to see everything. There is so much here, so much history, it is truly remarkable. You will find something for everyone, from old WW1 birth of flight machines, to post WW2 birth of GA, to pre modern day fighters, to space exhibits, including actual war artefacts and relics along the way. Entry is free too and it was only on the way out that we found somewhere to donate. The location is a bit out of the way, at least via public transport, requiring a taxi for the last part. And it could do with a sign on the main road, but our driver was able to find it in the end.

Large museum with five hangars filled with airplanes and additional planes outside. My kids loved it.

  • 2/5 Glib 1 year ago on Google
Very interesting collection of aircraft, spoilt by very officious staff constantly on the lookout for anyone breaking insignificant rules. I stepped on the grass to take a better photo, and was immediately yelled at by a very rude self-important monitor. I was also admonished for stepping in through an exit door by mistake. Small-minded bossy losers. Not a friendly place at all. UPDATE after reply from museum. Why not give a polite, friendly explanation of a rule? Not rude aggressive yelling! Do not treat visitors like they are a constant threat. They are human beings.

Fantastic collection of aircraft with the majority of information in both English and Spanish. Slightly out of the way, but it is an airfield! Walk from metro takes you over wasteland to get to it with few people about. Taxi or bus might be a better option if you visit.

  • 5/5 Angus P. 1 year ago on Google
Free parking, 3€ donation to enter. Wide range of outdoor static aircraft, many hangered aircraft, helicopters and armaments. Really good for all ages. Most items come with explanations in both Spanish and English. Just be aware of the motorway exit, it's a very bad one and you see it late.

I’m still in awe, what an amazing place to spend 4 hours at, so so many aircrafts, and scale models to see, each airplane has a full card with detailed info, and I loved the fact that is free, the shop has plenty of souvenirs to choose.

Very nice museum and experience! Overall we really liked it. Some of the great things: - many planes and helicopters. - great explanations and historical background. - free entry. Some of the things that would have made it a 5-star rating: - the outside planes and helicopters seemed less well taken care of, they were losing paint and were generally weathered. - missing an interactive part.. with that many planes it would have been nice for the kids to be able to sit in one or walk through one.. there was one hangar under construction, so maybe that this is on its way.. - a little more choice of food in the cafe. Nevertheless the museum wa great, with many many planes to see and learn about aviation history. I really recommend going! Looking forward to coming back again, and maybe in the future change my review :)

Fantastic museum, with an extremely broad collection of aircraft, engines and helicopters, covering the complete history of aviation. All well explained with individual panels, some videos. Brief histories of nuclear bombs and jet engines and a final hangar for models of aircraft used in Spain. Exceeded my expectations, highly recommended!
