It is the best place in Darjeeling for evening outing. Visited the place with family and everyone enjoyed this mall road market a lot. We had done shopping of woolen clothes at this place. We bought some sculptures and few famous things of this place. We had clicked so many group pictures and solo also :-) In the evening the market was fully crowded and the shops (both sides of the lane) was decorated with so many lights. It feeled amazing during nights. At the end we ate dinner at Lazeez. The best part of dinner was that we were trying to search Jain food without onion and garlic and we got succeed to find it at resturant Lazeez Affaire. We ate food with full of stomach and after that we went hotel. Overall the evening was filled with fun.

Mall Market at The Mall Road also known as Chowrasta "Intersection" lit. (where 4 roads meet) is a historical public square in the Victorian era hill resort town of Darjeeling. Located in the heart of the town, it was the fashionable place of assembly for residents and visitors in the 18th century and is situated on the ridge of the Darjeeling hill range and is now a focal center of tourist attraction and a popular spot for the residents to assemble, leisure or just stroll in the tranquility.

Mall market or the chowrasta, the heart of Darjeeling town, is a great place to shop woolens, curated decor items, antiques, stone work dishware and jewellery at dirt cheap rates. This is one of the oldest market in the town and is ran by multiple locals. If you walk by the market, you will find shop keepers selling their stuffs and as well as weaving winter wears which is a great sight to experience. Also, since these are handmade and the textiles are picked by locals and not mass produced, they do add to sustainability and protect our planet for longer. I was excited to find colorful hand woven fabrics for such great prices, the contentment of which is difficult to find in machine made items. While you are in Darjeeling, I would definitely recommend you to make the most of your trip by shopping in this market with all the verve that you have got. If people can keep it more clean by not throwing wrappers and food leftovers here and there, this would be better.

Though you'll experience it, the atmosphere is sickly claustrophobic while one walks through the hawkers' market. However, it varies from person to person. In the morning, it's a little bit better but at night, especially on the weekends, it's horrendous.

Loved the Oxford bookstore here. You can pick up great tea from golden tips or nathmuls. If you have kids, they may enjoy the horse rides in the square. The bakeries and pizzerias have very different Andy interesting quality about them. The Tibetan stores are interesting but you have to bargain well.(and politely) They are a very gentle people. There are several local folks who sit by the side and play their musical instruments and sing. Quite nice
