On a sunny, clear day on the rock then a trip on the cable car is a must. Takes approx 6 mins from ground to top, the major downside can be the wait which, on the day we went, was 2 hours. Unfortunately whilst most queue nicely, after waiting in line for a couple of hours in high temps then it does become a bit cut and thrust. Am currently sporting a nice cut mid calf from a pushchair encounter. Recommend, unless you got little ones, then cable car up, walk down. We got the £50 ticket which gave access to the cable car, Street Michael's, nature reserve, Moorish Castle and military exhibitions. You can get a taxi up but be carefully about paying extra for experiences such as St Michaels. Wear good comfy shoes, no sandals... if walking down.

Went up about 4:30pm stayed. For just over an hour. Walking from viewpoints, spotting monkeys and looking the views from above. Wasn't packed, had the car to.myself going up. Wind can prevent access so please check if you are planning a visit.

Once you enter Gibraltar you are bombarded with tour guides and taxi companies pushing their tours as cheaper and more comprehensive than going to the Cable Car which is true but if you want a get a quick lay of the Rock and/or have children the I would recommend buying a 1€ map from the vending machine and go to the Cable Car first and the plan the historical

visited in early March you expect a special place and instead you find a place with many defects, destroyed infrastructure, very little safety in the possibility of falling in a context where you pay 23.5 euros just to go up and down with the cable car. bad experience. logically The view from up here is spectacular but sorry to say that it is not worth the visit.

Next to the cable car station, there were gentlemen recommending a bus ride instead. Together with our family (2 adults and 2 children), we decided to go for it. The cost was the same as the cable car — maybe even cheaper, as our daughter rode for free. The cable car line had a waiting time of about 2 hours, while for the bus we waited only around 5 minutes! Without the bus, after taking the cable car, you have to walk down on your own — and that option is for adults only. The driver, Mr. Jamie from Bus 82, turned out to be an amazing guide! For about 1.5 hours, he shared fascinating stories about the island, its people, traditions, and landmarks. He also kindly helped us take some great photos. A truly memorable experience — highly recommended!

The Gibraltar Cable Car offers stunning views of the Rock, city, and sea. A quick, smooth ride takes you to the top, where you can enjoy panoramic scenery and meet the famous Barbary macaques.

We took the easy way up then visited all the sights whilst walking up then down in the nature reserve, you still have to put plenty of effort in. Definitely worth the ticket price.

We could have used the 2-hour wait time up better (buying tickets in advance doesn’t really speed up the queue wait time). If you get to the top 1/1.5 hour before closing - buy only the cable car ticket. Nature reserve ticket is really cost affective if you go up early during the day. The ride is fast and the return journey was wait-less yet paying that much money isn’t ideal. The official taxi service sounds interesting yet these are also packed and time limited.
