Very bad place. Lots of tourist scammers, want to sell you expensive taxi ride or tickets. Very annoying. At some point they even get a bit agressive.Just go straight to public ticket office if you need tickets. You can go to Gili for cheap. Even though people are pointing you in wrong direction. And walk a bit out and order a Grab or Gojek there if you want to go somewhere in Lombok. Taxi maffia will tell you Grab or Gojek is illegal or not possible, just walk out and order from there. Very bad thing also that the local government is not doing anything about it. The picture attached is where you go for the public boat. Does not leave at fixed times, just when it is full with 40 people, we paid 18.000 to go to Gili Air.

Horrible if you're a tourist. But necessary if you need to travel to or from the Gilis. Once you enter you will be swarmed by people claiming to sell tickets. They're all scams so ignore them. Even the so called travel agencies will try to sell you tickets for double the price. Buy tickets directly from the ticket counters. The Gili Air ticket counter is on the right side once you enter. It is really small and easy to miss but I'm attaching a picture to this review. Tickets to the rest of the islands can be bought at the ticket counter (white color) on the left. Here are the ticket prices for the Gilis. Do not pay anything more! Gili air - 12500 Gili meno - 14000 Gili T - 15000

Despite being renovated, but this small port still not being maintained very well, specially in the cleanliness. While this is one of the option to go to the Gili islands, this is the cheapest one for sure. The last boat to Gili T is available at 5pm, but if you're lucky, you could get another boat in case there's a quite amount of people also came late to the port. Don't push your luck, make sure to arrived here before 5pm.

Arriving from Port Padang Bai, Bali, Bangsal Harbour was a refreshing upgrade. The pier is wide, properly sheltered, and lined by safety grills at each side. The local authorities (mafia?) have kept touts from setting up shop and laying their goods all over the walkways of the pier, which is the case in Padang Bai. As with any port in the area, always pre-book your transport, or at least say that you have. The local taxi mafia will accost you as soon as you leave the pier gates offering to take you to your destination for ridiculous prices (700% markup in my case). If you don't have transport yet, say you do anyway and walk on purposefully out the harbour and along the lone road leading out. You'll find that their prices crater pretty quickly (I was offered 100k down from 700k initially). After about 200m, they stop tailing you and you can call for a GoJek. If you are here, I'd recommend taking a 5 min scooter ride out to Pondok Pizza nearby for lunch! I waited for my main transport there while having freshly baked pizza from a wood-fired oven for just 50k. The scooter ride cost me 15k. Otherwise, warungs just outside the harbour gates serve pretty fragrant nasi goreng for 20k or so, which are fair prices.

When coming from the Gilis ignore everyone offering you stuff here. Download the bluebird taxi app beforehand. Walk up the road until you reach the toll booth for cars. Then use the bluebird app to order a legit metered bluebird taxi, the app gives you an estimated price to reach your destination. Then enjoy your fair priced hassle free taxi to anywhere on the island. I used it to go to Sembalun village.

Came here using grab from lombok airport to take the ferry to gili air. Super confused about which jetty to use because a taxi driver recommended going to teluk nare instead. The official counter on the left of the jetty sells both public ferry and fastboat except public ferry to Gili Air ( sold by a hidden counter painted in pink on the right after the shops for 18k rupiah... see photo). I first bought the public ferry and went back to get a refund after buying the fastboat ticket (85k) because i was told that it might take 2 hours for the public ferry to fill up while the fastboat is in 30 min. A few men tried to sell me tickets and bring me to their shops. Harbour tax is required only if going to Bali.

You get to gili from here. There are several parking area if you want to park your ride for several days when you go to gili. There are several minimarket where you can buy your needs. Don’t wear shoes and trousers because you’ll get wet when you getting on to the boat. Toilet is realy bad and you pay IDR 2.000,- Ticket for public boat (40 persons) IDR 15.000,-

β€œYou will never find a more wretched hive of […] and villainy. We must be cautious.” If arriving by boat you will be swarmed with people grabbing your luggage and offering taxi services (some are middle men brokers, not actually drivers). Don’t feel intimidated. We found an actual taxi driver and negotiated a ride to Senggigi for 150k. If catching a ferry here, the public ferry ticket is bought from a small blue/white kiosk. Private fast boat companies have ticket desks in the larger building near the car park- you’ll also need to pay 10k harbour tax at the yellow desk in this building. It’ll give you a QR code ticket to scan later when leaving.

If coming from the Gilis, don't give your bag to the porters who swamp the boats coming into the harbor. They will try to get you to pay $5 to walk 20ft up the beach with your bag. It's also quite intimidating, with lots of taxi drivers touting for business. Thankfully I had arranged a driver in advance, who saved me. I know these people are just trying to make a living, but they could be a bit more courteous.

We found the advice of the other reviews to be helpful and accurate in our experience. For Gili Air and Meno, best to arrive in time for the fast boat which leaves every hour on the dot. Otherwise it might be a wait for the public boat to fill up. Cost is 85k IDR. Buy the ticket from the official ticket office in front of the long jetty, and do not get waylaid by touts as you enter the port area. On the window of the ticket office is a timetable with return timings from each of the Gili islands. Buy the return ticket from the official ticket office at a similar location on the islands. Use the bluebird app to get a metered taxi from the harbour. But, we returned around 4.30pm and maybe because it was late in the day; touts were offering 150k IDR to Mataram and Senggigi which is close to what we paid on our way there (160k IDR from the far end of Senggigi via Bluebird).
