Ruby's serves the best food we had on Gili Air. The vegetarian dishes are few, but they are delicious and prepared with real skill. The desserts are fantastic too- particularly the chocolate 'Salami' with ice cream. The prices are slightly higher than the local Warungs, but it's well worth it. The staff are lovely too, and I wouldn't visit Gili Air without stopping for a meal here.

I had read many reviews of the restaurant and had to check it out during my stay - so glad I did! The food was amazing, I had the croquettes (chicken) followed by the beef rendang - one of the best I've had! The portions were excellent and the staff and owner were incredibly friendly. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Gili Air

I ordered the watermelon salad, expecting a few cubes of watermelon (as a lot of places do), and was pleasantly surprised when it came out and the entire plate was covered in a bed of watermelon. The salad was a very generous size and filling enough to be a meal.

THE BEST FOOD ON AIR GILI. I ordered the green curry and my friends ordered the rendang and butter chicken. Everything was excellent and the service was impeccable! Will probably be back for dinner tomorrow!

Wife and I had lunch here today! A bit pricier than other Wurungs in on the island but they make up for it in comparatively huge portion sizes and high quality ingredients. This is some of the best authentic Indonesian food we have had so far on our trip. Very happy and will go back for more for dinner tonight!

Beef randang and curry puffs were amazing. Green curry was good. Chocolate salami was disappointing. Good service. Nice ambience. Owner is a British expat. Don’t get the bad reviews about the price. This is not your standard local warung so you should expect to pay more for food.

Words can't describe the food here ! I am a head chef and this is hands down the best food I have had in Indonesia! The flavours the chef's create through each dish Is very impressive and their presentation is also wonderful. I am going back here each other day and going to try everything on their menu. I promise each dish you order will be the best delivery of flavours and layers too Indonesian food you have not had yet in this country!!! ITS A MUST EAT HERE PLACE

YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST VISIT HERE!! Had lunch at Ruby's and it was by far the best food I have had my whole trip. Started with curry puffs and they were absolutely beautiful so much so i only took a picture of them ones we had already demolished some. The Rendang curry was absolutely stunning the beef was so tender it fell apart! My partner had a vegetable Indonesian green curry that was also gorgeous. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly

The food at Ruby's is just awesome! Best local food restaurant on Air in my opinion. More touristy prices but they deliver. Only one negative thing about the cheap red wine... that's the stuff I bought when I was 16, had no money and mixed it with cola to make it drinkable 😁 Ah and better show up early, otherwise you have to be patient.

We visited Ruby's five years ago on a trip to Gili Air and were pleased to see it still going strong. I'll be honest after a load of research and reading between the lines if you want great quality dishes, large portions, friendly service, ability to purchase beers and wine with your meal in a clean environment then I wouldn't recommend anywhere else. We loved it so much we ate here 3 evenings out of our 4 evenings on the island. One evening we took some friends along with us who had eaten elsewhere on the island and agreed with us that the food was fantastic. The beef rendang is to die for, my husband was even buying the beef rendang pie from their pie shop during the day to get a fix of their rendang recipe. We also tried chicken bhutu, green Thai curry and noddle dish with prawns. The stand out dishes were the chicken dishes and of course the rendang. Saw the kofta going out to a table next to us which also looked great. Starter wise,curry puffs and the fresh spring rolls are wonderful plus the crispy spring rolls. Our friends enjoyed the jalapeño mozzarella balls. Honestly, if you are in doubt where to go for great flavours then go to Ruby's.

Ruby's Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants on the island... Her attention to detail, the flavors and presentation all hit the mark!! The beef rendang is the best and her pies (pre order for Friday Pieday) are out of this world!!!

Chicken betutu was YUM. Juice was more of a watery smoothie than a juice - a it would have been better as a smoothie with a frozen banana! There is zero air flow in the cafe, perhaps better fan placement is warranted

Easily the 3 best meals I had during my 2 week stay across Indonesia. Big recommend.

What a pleasant surprise this was. I had the pumpkin curry and it was made from scratch. The pumpkin was perfectly cooked not some smudge. The sauce… wow! We also had the Arugula salad. Really did not expect to find this type of food on Gili Air. I had heard about their Jalapeño Poppers, unfortunately they were out.

Popped in for lunch, had a friendly great g from servers and quick service. The food was really good and good size. The pasta and meatballs I can recommend. Was a little bit more expensive than other Warungs. Only issue was that there were barely any fans, and was very hot sitting in there.

Ordered a green juice (forgot its full name) and the Chicken Betutu. Absolutely delicious, the satay was on a lemongrass stem (😍) and the sambal matah was heaven. There's also a small otah in the dish. This meal made me so happy.

We ate here on our last night in Gili Air after reading the good reviews and it exceeded our expectations. We went for the Beef Rendang and Ayam Bakar both were absolutely delicious and came with extras like corn fritters and different sambals. We both agreed it was the best Indonesian food we’d had on our 2 week trip in Bali. An absolute must if you are on Gili Air!

We came here on our last night based on the reviews and can just confirm the food is delicious and the portions are good sizes. Gili Air has so many good restaurants and this is also one you should not miss.

Great place to have dinner. Everything is delicious. Friendly staff. Smaller menu due to covid, but rendang is still on the menu!

Excellent place for the best authentic Indonesian dishes and fresh fruit drinks. Very glad they survived the pandemic. The pineapple / mint / lime smoothie is a real joy.

Service is very nice and the food unbelievable delicious, tasty and just jummy. There is not a lot of choice of food, but this is a good sign for fresh cooking. They state on the menu, that dishes might take a while, since they are freshly cooked. We didn’t wait for a long time at all (lunch time). We passed by last night during dinner and the small place was packed with guests. Really really good place to visit.

SO GOOD! Probably the best Indonesian food we had during our two week trip. Great service, good prices and a really relaxed little cafe. Worth the detour to find it.
