Had dinner here tonight and had some of the best chicken panang, pad Thai and spring rolls we’ve ever had. We travel all over the US and Thai is a must dish for us to try everywhere.. this place hands down is #1 so far in our travels!! The veggies and meat all sliced and diced just perfect size, the flavor and thickness of the panang was amazing, the pad Thai noodles were juicy and not dry, everything had the perfect flavor and spice with level 1. The service was fast and very friendly. Must be everyone’s favorite as the place was busy and to gos were non stop. Thanks for making us and our belly’s smile 😊 we will definitely be back!!

Tom Kha is my favorite soup and this is the best one I've had in a very long time. The other dish just as delicious. I'll definitely be back again!

A small but excellent restaurant. Spicy dishes can be accommodated to your taste from spiciness 1 (hardly spicy) to spiciness 5 (very spicy). My spouse and I prefer spiciness 2 but taste is an individual experience. Even within a plate, spiciness can vary. Pictured is Pineapple Tangerine Chicken which is served with rice. Update: 25JUL2023, got the Pad Samros (a fish dish) - WOW - spiciness 2 was REALLY spicy - rice could not tone it down enough.

We really enjoyed our lunch! Panang was creamy and delicious. The proprietor (Pang) was very sweet.

Some of the best Thai in the Fairview area. Always have great sevi e and haven't gotten anything bad yet. The Golden Pillow is perfect on a cold day. The pineapple chicken was a great surprise. A very crispy yet juicy chicken breast with rice, pineapple, oranges, and a sauce.

My mom treated us to an anniversary dinner on a Sunday night at Tong Phoon Thai. We had been once before and we were equally pleased on our return visit. I enjoyed the pad Thai with a level 2 spice and it was quite a bit spicier than last time, but variation on level of heat is to be expected. I will stick to level 1 next time. We ordered the fried spring rolls for an appetizer and enjoyed hot Jasmine tea to sip on while we waited for our entrées. Last time, we had the mango and coconut (I think) milk for dessert and it was delicious! Tasted like a dessert, but it was refreshing and light. We will be back!

Some reviews were mixed but our experience was great. Very friendly owner and waitress. Orders were accurate and delicious. Location was just a little out of the way but worth the small drive.

First time coming to this restaurant. Let’s me just say this place is AMAZING!!! Great service and amazing food 🥰 Thai fried rice was super good 3 stars spicy was bomb as well as tom yum noodles soup 3 stars spicy as well super great! Thai iced tea was real good as the sprite was water down once we got it thank god the waitress gave us water.

My favorite Thai Restaurant from 7 years ago when I retired and return to Hawaii. Returned tonight while visiting and the green papaya salad is still delicious along with the Penang Curry with pork. Keep it up.

This is the best restaurant we’ve been to in the metro east. we’ve lived here since 2015 and I’m so disappointed I haven’t been here sooner. It is SO GOOD!! I highly recommend. Better steak than I can cook myself (and I can cook better than any other restaurants we’ve been to). Place is clean, staff are excellent and attentive. Everything about this place is excellent. I’m telling you know if you’ve lived here and you haven’t been here you have been missing out for years!

Made reservations a week in advance for saturday Feb 15th. Arrived early and waited at the hostess stand for over 10 minutes without being greeted. Finally asked an employee behind the bar. Was told it would be a 50 minute wait. Restated that I had a reservation & was told that didn't matter as they were busy & short staffed. The employee was quite rude & confrontational. Can't comment on the food as we left and ate elsewhere. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE

If I could give no stars I would, so very aggravated and disappointed. We made a reservation for 7pm on Saturday feb. 15th. When we arrived we had to stand and wait 10 mins for anyone to even acknowledge us then when she finally barely did she was completely rude and argumentative. Completely unprofessional. She said angrily right off the bat it's a 50 min wait. To which I nicely said oh we have a reservation. She extended her hand around the room and said ALL these people do very snarky. Then she said if you go anywhere tonight it's going to be 50mins. Plus we are short staffed. To which I said that's not true. She then said I've gone out before it is true. I said then why give reservations. Makes no sense. I have never had a hostess treat me this way. It was disturbing to say the least and personally I was disgusted. The witchy woman had long black hair and was working as hostess. My recommendation would be to find someone else to run your front of house because she is appalling and if you expect your business to succeed you really need to get it together because businesses succeed and fail through word of mouth and reviews and this review is not only going here but also on google so everyone can read it. Thanks for ABSOLUTELY nothing on my valentines weekend.

Recently a few friends from work and I formed a supper club. Tong Phoon Thai was our first stop and it was an excellent choice. We started with 3 different appetizers: Shrimp in a Blanket, Spring Rolls, and Crab Rangoons. The first two were exceptional, I'd go so far to say the Spring Rolls were the best I've ever had. The Crab Rangoons were only okay and somewhat plain tasting. I got the Pad See Eew and it was also really good. Everything was very fresh. I gotta say the waiter was outstanding! He was friendly and engaging and I was grateful for his suggestions. We finished off with a dessert of his suggestion, it was Mango with sticky rice. I had never tried this before and it was surprisingly good. The sticky rice was covered by half a mango sliced thin with all covered in a sweet, thick coconut sauce. The rice was warm and its taste reminded me of movie popcorn, the combination of all the flavors isn't something I can easily describe other than it was delicious! The experience as a whole was worthy of a top rating. I'd like to return sometime and explore the menu more.

UPDATE 5/11/23 Met my son here for dinner and everything was delicious. I got my "usual" Green Curry with Shrimp. Huge serving, so I have plenty left for lunch tomorrow. My son has not had Thai before and thoroughly enjoyed the Red Curry with Crispy Duck. The restaurant was clean and welcoming and the service was great! ------- Delicious lunch portion of Green Curry with Shrimp. Even though I do take-out regularly, this is the first time I've eaten inside the restaurant in quite a few years. I was pleasantly surprised as the lovely remodel which makes the restaurant more inviting.

This is absolutely the best Thai restaurant in this area. I have tried three different ones. Tong Phoon runs circles around the others. Ten 🌟🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 to the owner for having a really run well place with staff that can cook.

Their pad thai was not as flavorful as i expected it to be and their chicken in the green curry was not good, it was chewy and you can tell they boiled it with no flavour. I wasn't happy with my first experience, but I'll probably give them one more chance as their rice, spring rolls and summer rolls were pretty good. The tofu in the roll was a nice touch but i was hoping they'd add basil or maybe just leave out the lettuce since it seemed like a filler.

The food is delicious and staff is friendly. Definitely making this my go to for Thai food.

If you looking for a real authentic Thai food this would be the place to go. They just renovated the restaurant look extremely nice.

This is one of my favorite Thai spots ever. Pad Kee Mow is sooooooo good! I just tried the Spicy Basil Duck( in the picture) and it was delicious as expected. Lunch is cheap and their takeout is always wonderful.

Best Thai place this side of the river. Get their lunch specials.

Will never order here again. Poor customer service when ordering an order via phone to pick up. I paid over the phone too. An incident occurred to where the food pickup was going to be later than what they stated. So, I called them and asked if they could either remake the food, or at least place it somewhere to where it can stay warm for a few extra minutes. They said no, and basically after spending $60 in food and a tip, I have to go pick up cold food that's been sitting out for 30 minutes. Poor service, and unsanitary for consumption of that food now. We've been ordering food from this place for years. Good thing there are more thai restaurants nearby.

Tong phoon is a staple in our lives! We have been going to and or placing orders for the past year at least twice a month and we are never disappointed. We always get great customer service along with great food. Our go to meals are typically the green curry with chicken or chicken pad Thai. The curry puff appetizer is delish and so is the chicken satay. Try them if you haven’t!

Expensive but tasteful healthy foods

Absolutely fantastic!!! Delicious yes! Great service! Hot Food! We ordered a good variety for take out and everything was delicious and hot! The spice level was spot on and the coconut soup was outstanding! Whatever you order you will love it!!!

Very unprofessional and the owner unbelievable bad customer service ordered the pad Thai with shrimp and chicken and extra sauce two orders spent 40.00 called because my order was missing the shrimp On one when I paid extra for each order she tells me she y’all to the cook and he said he put it in there and there are not any. Then she proceeds to ask me to take a picture of my food and send it to them my husband just told them the service was horrible and we want patronize anymore so beware .

New to area and my husband stumbled on this location and brough me home lunch... It was awesome! Great flavor and prices are right too... My husband stated the staff was so friendly and very accommodating, since I am picky on my order... Love 💘 and will be back!

Tong Phoon is hands down my favorite restaurant - favorite of any type of cuisine. Everyone is so friendly, the atmosphere is even friendly and kind. The food is always amazing and is served in a timely manner. My children (even my picky eater) and I love it here and recommend everyone try it.

Pictured here is Pad Thai with tofu and a Thai Iced Tea. My favorite meal in the entire world. They nailed it. Simply put. The Spring rolls are great as well, as you can see they didn't quite make it to the picture. The staff and beautifully sweet and are great hosts. My only complaint is that I didn't come across them soon. They definitely took business away from my previous Thai place. This is what I have been looking for since moving here. If you haven't been here already, go now!!!

Went here for the first time and everything was amazing. The food was the perfect amount and obviously tasty. The basil fried rice is to die for, you will be thinking about it everyday!! The servers worked hard and fast even though it wasnt crazy busy!! Will be here all the time!!

First the food was excellent. The owners and staff are great with the customers, even with all the covid-19 restrictions that are in place. Very friendly environment and family oriented. So an all around awesome experience. This is our second visit and we will be going back many times again..

Atmosphere:. Hard to say what normal operations look like, we ate here while the COVID restrictions are in place. There are four tables outside, most of which can seat between 4-6 people. Food:. Food quality was good. It was annoying that they were out of several steak cuts but did not tell us until we tried to order them. Food was cooked well with excellent seasoning. Value:. Value was pretty poor depending on the dish. The 12 oz lamb was a poor value, considering the large bones you maybe received 5-6 oz of meat for 40 dollars.

Delicious, unique dining experience.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The stone grilled steak was delicious and an interesting experience instead of just having a cooked steak delivered to your table. The staff may have still been a little disorganized, but they were genuinely friendly and going out of their way to make sure we had a good experience. They've also obviously read some of the past reviews and made sure to over explain how to best enjoy the stone grilled experience.

What an amazing experience! The empanada's were done to perfection! Amazing surf and turf dish! 700 degree stone grill,, out of this world. An Rob no A1 sauce needed.. You missed out my friend! Oscar and Team "Muy Sabroso!!! ":-)

While the food was good, the experience was less than desirable. They need to work on having customer service equal to the pricepoint. It would be nice to be acknowledged when you walk in the door to have water when you sit down . Your bottle of wine arriving before your appetizers show up, it would be nice to be offered an explanation of how things work, like the stone cooking the meat at your table. Also, to let you know what they are out if before you start deciding. There are definitely kinks to work out.

Nice place for tasty Argentinian food. Visited at eight, it was not full. Service is typically good. It has a nice feel to it.

Amazing! I usually save about a third of my order when eat out for the next day but I couldn't help myself and finished everything. It was so delicious. The steak was so flavorful and cooked to perfection. I can't wait to go back. The decor was very nice. Great place for a date or special occasion.

Your server is your tour guide, be sure to try the stone grilled steak. Could not even finish the meal, so much food! Absolutely delicious, no A1 sauce needed.

My wife and I went on a date night and wanted to try something different. Despite that COVID has forced the owner to shut down the inside of the restaurant, we were able to sit outside, enjoy fun music, and ate AMAZING Argentinian cuisine. My wife and I enjoy traveling the world so we were unsure of what to expect, but we were not disappointed. We truly felt like we were immersed in the culture. The owner even took time out of his night and went around to talk to each table. We look forward to returning!

It was horrible the menu did add up with what i ordered its a steak restraunt but they dont carry a1 or any steak sause besides there very own olive oil herb junk. The best thing on the whole menu was the limted? Baked potato? Like your a steak restaurant but u only keep a few potatoes at a time? Def eill never come back was the bigest waist of 70$ i ever spent i could took my wife to tuckers in soulard and had a way better dinner .

Amazing local restaurant! I discovered this restaurant last fall and have been coming ever since. The beef is fresh every Thursday. With the 700 degree Stonegrill every bite of your tender steak is hot and sizzling. This is the beast steakhouse in East Metro STL. This beats any of the "Prime" steakhouse chains. The empanadas are delicious. I enjoy the beef and the chorizo. Try the plantains they are great. If its on the menu I also enjoy the steak papas gauchos. The pulled pork is a winner. They are family owned and take price in their food. Make reservations of outside dining.

An excellent local find! Not too crowded, a menu with plenty of variety, attentive service. Best of all the meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Special notice to the rice that comes with orders by default- it, too, has a wonderful seasoning.

Outstanding Argentinean steakhouse. The 700 degree stone grill made every bite the same as the first, amazing. Cooked to a perfect medium. Their chimichurri is delicious and the appetizers were too hard to pass up. It is a must for a fun night out.

The food was super tasty. Service was great :) My only complaint was that it was a bit smoky inside due to the stone cooked steaks. But definitely a unique experience.

My fave Thai place this side of the river. Love the Tom Kha, Panang Curry, crab Rangoon, spring rolls, summer rolls, Red curry. I love the Thai ice tea here. The staff is always friendly and attentive. The restaurant is always clean and inviting. I order spicy dishes at a level 2-3 depending on who I am sharing with. I like it spicy though, so next time I may try a 4 and yell fire in the hole.

Nicely put together dishes that are well balanced in all the complex flavors. All the ingredients are of high quality and their chef really cooks wholeheartedly. Having a lot of fun trying all the different menus. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. They remember what their customers like, to include their preferences. Wish I could give more than five stars! A+++!

My wife and I visited Tong Phoon Restaurant on Valentines Day. The service and food was excellent! I ordered Drunken Noodles with beef. The server informed me of the Thai name for the dish which I can't begin to pronounce. My wife had Sweet and Sour Chicken. Both meals were delicious. The service was as good as the meal. Our server was attentive and efficient. We were greeted and seated immediately. The food was served promptly. Just a really great dining experience!

Absolutely amazing. We have dined in and ordered to go and both times were absolutely phenomenal. Five stars across the board! Service is exemplary, the food is made with love and true quality. We had the Thai Basil Duck which is out of this world packed with flavor! Also order the steamed dumplings. You won’t regret it.

I am very disappointed & sad to have to make this review. I enjoyed my typical meal of panang shrimp curry. But I also ordered pad-see-ew noodles with duck. The duck costs an additional $8…and it looked like they battered already-cooked duck & refried it. The noodles were coated in a red, oily glaze. This dish was disgusting & had a sweet taste that is not how pad-see-ew is made. Needless to say, I threw it out. Also…During the busy lunch hour on a Friday, it took 1 hour for us to get our food from the time we ordered. 🙁

We were traveling through the area hungry for Thai food and Tong Phoon Thai did not disappoint. Best Tom Kha soup ever! All our food was delicious, fresh and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly and the restaurant was clean. Highly recommend this Thai restaurant.

The servers were great, and the food was excellent and served quickly. It tasted authentic, spicy, and comforting. I only gave 4 stars for the atmosphere, because my husband sat on a wooden bench. Other than that, it was great! I would recommend it to anyone who loves Thai food.

Nice family owned restaurant. I prefer them over big chain restaurants. Portion sizes are great considering the higher price. It is worth it. I enjoy the shrimp thai fried rice, stuffed shrimp, Crab Rangoon, & Spring rolls. My husband gets his Thai fried rice at a level 1. The fried rice is flavorful & the Crab Rangoon are amazing. My orders are always correct.
