The Deadwood Gulch Resort was close to Deadwood and it has a local trolley. The view against the mountain with the river was awesome. Overall for the price, made this a reasonable choice. The first issue was the coffee in the room was not very good, so we went downstairs to the kitchen, which wasn't much better, and no continental breakfast (this was very upsetting). Secondly, the room did have some small grout issues in the bathroom, the doors did not open and shut correctly (or at all), and the room was not very clean; for Wyndham quality. Finally, the water softener needs to be removed from the hotel. No need to soap up the next day, still have soap from the previous day... Staff were polite and courteous, so a descent place, just needs some repairs, turn off the water softener, coffee (K-Cups), and food..

Made reservations, but when checking in , they didn’t have it and charged me almost double, tried several attempts to talk with manager , and never succeeded. Rooms where outdated and smelled of stale smoke. Ac didn’t work. Light switch’s didn’t work properly, and toilet seat felt like it was going to fall off. I personally would not recommend this place, and it’s not what’s expected from Wyndham

This was the 2nd time I've stayed here I love this place just because it's a little bit more inexpensive than staying downtown. I always like going back out by the Creek which has an excellent view and a wonderful Creek we had a room to the Creek that was beautiful it's just quaint and comfortable and quite enjoyable to just sit back there and enjoy the beauty of the black hills. The casino is OK. They were under some remodeling at the time but that didn't interrupt anything that we were doing it was easy to get to the our room by elevator and the rooms were very nice and clean..

Great value. Clean, updated rooms. The hot tub is open late and very comfortable. Bartender in the lounge was nice. Front desk girl was fantastic. There is an adjoining restaurant. Casino was fun.

What a gym this place turned out to be. Very polite staff, helpful as well. Their breakfast hours are short but it is Smoker Friendly place. If this place ends up with a recreational marijuana license I will be staying here a lot more. My bed was very comfortable everything worked everything was clean. Staff went the extra mile and offered to ship my items that I left in the room home which I accepted they even called me back to tell me that the items I thought I had left were not in the room. They were correct they were with me. That kind of service matters these days. They even have a smoker's Lounge I'll repeat they even have a smoker's Lounge indoors

Front desk person had only be on the desk 2 days and handle 2 check ins and 2 complaints simultaneously without losing her smile or patience. She’s a keeper! Great stay!

Nice hotel, it's not close to Main Street which you may or may not like. The Deadwood Trolley does drop off and pick up from here though. The rooms are your typical room, nothing fancy. Downsides of the room, no darkening blinds, extremely old and noisy AC/Heat window units, and very limited power outlets to use for charging your devices. Positive, shower water pressure is good but be careful, water gets out of the shower area onto the floor very easily. As for the Casino, I have never played machines that were this "tight". Holy cow, not a single jackpot sound or screaming gambler to alert you to any type of decent winnings. I honestly wouldn't play the machines here if I stay here again.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in the presidential suite. The staff was extremely nice and the facility was very clean. Our room was cleaned and got fresh towels everyday on our 5 night stay. There were a few things that were unfortunate during our stay but wasn't a deal breaker. There is a surround sound system in the presidential suite that didn't work. I asked the front desk for directions just in case I was doing something wrong. They kindly gave me a a copy of the instructions. I followed the instructions step by step and it still didn't work. The first night we were there, we used their hot tub. It was nice and very clean. During the rest of our stay there, the hot tub was closed for painting which did suck because we were excited that there was one. The property was a very short drive to downtown Deadwood and there is a trolly system you can jump on for $2 a person that runs every 30 mins that can take you downtown. Their casino was really nice and clean and I did win some good amount of money during our stay. Overall, our stay there was very pleasant and would recommend this resort to anyone that plans on staying in the Black Hills.

I'm often on the hunt for a local getaway that marks most of my boxes. My spouse & I like to run away from home, Always looking for a getaway in the surrounding area, with a bar in the hotel, restaurant close by, a hot tub in the hotel and a jet tub in our room and this had it all! We really enjoyed our stay! I did notice alot of the light switches in our room didn't work as well as light bulbs & outlets. The hallway did appear to need vacuumed but otherwise, everything looked clean and taken care of! I loved the size of our room, and the bathroom was one I dream of in my own home! Definitely be back again!

Made reservations through Expedia, room, no smoking. The whole place was supposed to be no smoking. They gave us a room above the “smoking lounge”. The room stunk if smoke and some horrible attempt to cover up the smell. I’m not sure which was worse. It was making us sick. The whole place smelled horrible. The whole place smelled dirty. We had to check out. They would not refund the cost of the room. Expedia was no help. We got screwed over big time. Not using Expedia again. Do not stay here.
