I visited the biggest market in Kigali. It is very organized and very clean. Things are cheap/affordable in the market. This should be a MUST visit place in Kigali. You get to interact with the locals, bargain for items. There are quite a variety of almost every thing. Just outside the market there is a bus station. You can board one towards you destination within the city. I bought lots of fruits from the market.

Kimironko Market in Kigali is undoubtedly a vibrant and bustling place that offers a unique shopping experience. However, there are a few aspects to keep in mind when visiting this market. The market exudes liveliness, with a wide array of products to explore. The fabric section stands out with its exquisite offerings. You can find beautiful fabrics here, and the added convenience of having something tailor-made for you in just 1 or 2 hours is a definite plus. On the flip side, prices can be quite inflated for tourists, with some items marked up by as much as tenfold. Bargaining skills may come in handy to get a fair deal. The fruit and vegetable section is also worth exploring, providing a glimpse into local produce and the vibrant food culture of Kigali. One thing to note is that some tourists might find the persistence of vendors a bit overwhelming. However, it's important to remember that these vendors are trying to make a living and, overall, they are friendly and welcoming if you take the time to engage with them. In summary, Kimironko Market is a dynamic and diverse marketplace that offers a mix of vibrant experiences and potential challenges for tourists. It's an excellent place to discover local culture, but it's advisable to be prepared for price negotiations and vendor interactions.

Kimironko Market is located in the heart of Kigali City. It is must place to visit for any tourist whether you want to get a souvenir or not. This market is definitely your one stop shop for everything you need. Starting from a needle upto automobile parts including souvenirs, tailoring shops, kitchen market, butcher shop, everything. For buying anything you have to be very good in bargaining. If someone ask for 15000 Rwandan Franc, confidently start with 5000 Rwandan Franc. The shopkeepers will drag you to there stores and they are kind of irresistible. You have to manage that by yourself. The moment you will get down from your vehicle (car/ bike) a flock of guides will come to you to guide you to the shops inside. If you take, they might help you in exchange of some tips. If you do not take, you will still be able complete your tour or whatever you wanted to buy.

Chaotic 'you must visit one day' place if you are in Rwanda. It's a bit hectic, but people are friendly and leave you mostly alone. You can buy everything here from fresh food (fruits, vegetables) to clothes, plastic ware and much more. There also is a decent tourist section for souvenirs. Parking is a bit of a hassle at times though.

It's a big market for groceries, fruits , cloths, jewelleries etc. I was able to navigate the market with the help on the guys wearing a yellow uniform and I tipped him after he took round the market. The sellers are also warm and friendly

As any market, Kimironko market also has got many different sections of each commodity. That is to say fruits and vegetables, clothes, shoes, cereals, meat, electronics, cosmetics, etc. Actually, the market is large and it is roofed. It is located in the town and precisely near the bus park. All this makes it a busier place hence increased money flow and job opportunities to different people.

Nice cultural experience but be aware of tailoring clothes. It takes much more time than the promised 1 hour and the quality is not really good. I suggest to just get the fabric and let it tailor somewhere else with more professional designers. Anyhow, recommend a visit and buy small souvenirs, as usual the appropriate price is at 30-40% of the starting price.

Loved it! An incredible 'local' market where you can really experience the real Rwanda. An overload for the senses! Felt safe, no hard sell. Bought some wonderful fabric. Well worth a visit

A very interesting experience. We arrived and 4 guys ran to the taxi and opened the door and immediately began trying to sell stuff. The guys walked inside with us and bombarded us with photos of things they are selling. There is a huge variety of things to buy. Haggling is default. Some of the guys will hold on to your items in an attempt to get money from you when you leave, so once you buy something you should grab it and keep it with you to avoid having to get into further discussions :) very safe. It’s an experience and a lot of fun. Probably best to go with a local as they’ll have an idea of reasonable prices.

This is what a real market is! Take your time to browse around and don't feel weird because everyone will try to get you to look at their offer. You can get custom-tailored shirts for ~$20, possibly even less. Don't forget to haggle

The Kimironko Market is a very exciting place. It's a little daunting at first, but when you get use to the flow you will have much fun wheeling and dealing on the prices of items sold there. The people running their own individual business are so kind and friendly. Everybody wants you to stop at their area. However you will find your favorites if you go more than once. The experience was great. It is a must see!! Bring lots of cash.

The market is exactly what you'd expect it to be: lively, congested, busy, pushy, fun! Learn to haggle but not underbid–folks still need to live. Check the stitch work on items as they can sometimes be loose or a different color pattern than the other stitch work. Otherwise, go, make a few purchases, and enJOY! There's a sugarcane juice place around the corner that is worth a visit.

It is an organised market, don't be surprised if tons of people hound you to buy their wares upon entry though .

A very good place to get your market goods. It has a variety of items, a very big range of stuff. It's best you come through with hard cash for easy of service. Moreover you are able to negotiate (although it's best we make sure the service providers benefit), so be thoughtful when negotiating. I would advise you go there with a local or just as a group, so that you can get good deals. It's a very large place with easy access, via taxi or motorbike.

It's a well laid out market. The sellers are very welcoming and quite friendly to customers. However becareful to beat down the prices of the items to about 50 % of the original price. LoL that's an African market for you. Have a great shopping 🛒 experience.

It’s basically a food market. Lots of fresh food and fruits

The Market is quite accessible being in the middle of Kimironko which is generally a well known area. Inside the market itself though can be crowded and will take 3-5 trips to be able to navigate properly. The market could use a bit of extension and prices don't stray from Kigali's price brackets. Vegetables are the cheapest on the food chain here.

Unique market in east Kigali. This huge hall is packed with vendors. It's an interesting experience to walk through the narrow ways and watch the piles of vegetables and fruits left and right.
