THE view i assume. It looks as per the photos with snowy mountains at the back while we went on March. The streets are quiet this time of the year and it looks amazing.

Gorgeous old town. Different vibes by day and night. A lot of stores and restaurants. Definitely worth the visit!

One of the best place to visit in Gjirokastër

If you are a bit confused by just what this is, the literal translation means “neck of the bazaar”. So this is the heart of it. The crossroads so unique that it can look very different from many angles but actually it’s not such a big area and that’s part of the appeal. You can stay together or explore separately and easily regroup at the heart of things. Lovely and fascinating pedestrian area with old and new treasures to consider or just admire. Look closely and see some traditional artisans at work. Goods from textiles, stone, wood, fiber, metal, ceramics, and more. Very friendly culture. Look for the sign “old well”. It’s in a souvenir shop at the center and “well” worth a gander hahah a free treat. And the staff are happy to share the history and details.

Very touristic

Beautiful authentic old town! Love the colourful carpet and earrings they sell. You can go inside to see the old well too. Lovely place to visit.

A place to not mise when you visit Gjirokastera.

Qafa e Pazarit is the center of the Old Town of Gjirokastra. It is a wonderful place where you can see the old architecture and tradition of the city mixed with the modern lifestyle.

We came to see the old well inside the shop but were told it is only for costumers. Pitty... we did our great shopping in another shop with no well but great hospitality
