Loved our 2 night stay here. The room and balcony area was really lovely and comfortable, and exceeded expectations from the photos we saw - the pictures didn't do it justice. The location is brilliant, breakfast perfect and the owner is absolutely wonderful and couldn't have been more generous and accommodating. Very much recommended.

Very nice guesthouse in a central position in Gjirokastër, between the bazaar and the ethnographic museum. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast very tasty. But the best part was the kindness of our hostess, who was always here to bring us food, good advice and nice words. Hands down the best hotel I've slept in in Albania. I advise anyone wanting to visit Gjirokastër to spend their nights there!

Amazing guest house in Gjirocaster. Our hostess was so kind and helpful, she would bring us food and drinks. Never in our lives have we been treated so kindly. Absolutely the best guest house we stayed in in Albania. Breakfast are incredible too. In two words : go there !!!

We had a wonderful three day stay here. Beautiful views from the room, very clean and comfortable. The hosts were truly warm and welcoming, and we were amazed by the huge delicious breakfast! It’s in a perfect location and a short walk to the castle, bazar and all the old town things to see. Definitely worth a visit!

This is absolutely the best place I have had the pleasure of staying. The room was nice, we had a little balcony with a view of the city and everything was in order. What sets this place apart, though is the family who runs it. They all went above and beyond and made us feel very welcome. And the breakfast was amazing with homemade Jam, homegrown fruit and I could go on! In the middle of old town gjirokaster, no less. Just absolutely fantastic!

Excellent location, just in the heart of the Old City (just in front of Skenduli House). Awesome sights from the terrace, you can have your breakfast while seeing Gjirokaster and the mountains! The best staff we've found. The manager speaks perfect english; her mother, who lives in the facilities and takes care or the guests, does not but she is the most lovely, kind and funny person we met in Albania! :D The breakfast was plentiful and tasty, with lots of fresh fruit, juices... The room is big, very new and very confortable, great decoration. All rooms have balcony and private bathroom, and there is a (shared) fridge in the balcony. The place (a big house with even a vegetable garden) is great, and the decoration (fondly handmade with antiques by the manager's father) is interesting. It has window blinds! As a negative point, the door in the room has a window without blinds nor curtains, so there is so much light into the room early in the morning.

Driving up the steep cobblestone path to get to Ahmetaj was absolutely worth it! The owner (Zamira) greeted us with a big warm smile and showed us our huge room with that priceless view of the mountains. The property has a nice little terrace for us to process what we just went through (the drive up 😂). The views are just breathtaking. Zamira served us welcoming tea, coffee and snacks and later sent homemade wine to our room. The breakfast spread was AMAZING. Best honey and fig jam I've ever tasted. The Albanian pita bread she made was delicious, she even packed the leftovers for us to bring. We were also gifted a pair of knitted socks, how precious. She treated us like family - while we packed she plucked some parting flowers too ❤️ Definitely recommended to stay with Ahmetaj!

Very friendly hospitality; very simple but clean rooms with Air on; welcome coffee and good night raki; great breakfast; very close walking distance to everything, but quiet at night.

Great rooms and super lovely host who gave us watermelon and pancakes on arrival. Very filling breakfast as well. Rooms were very clean and not expensive either. Only 5 minutes from Gjirokaster so excellent location for visiting town, castle and war tunnels. Would highly recommend.

There is no better place to stay in Gjirokaster. Zamira and her whole family are truly the kindest people we’ve ever met. They looked at us like we were their family, going above and beyond to help us when our car broke down and treat us with love, greeted us so beautifully when we arrived with tea and fruit and pure kindness. Our stay was perfection, the room was perfect and so clean, and breakfast was the best we had in Albania. It was made fresh for us with love from our hosts and we only wish we could’ve stayed days and days longer. Trust me, this is the best possible place to stay in Gjirokaster and honestly the best place we stayed on our whole trip with the best family. We miss them already!
