Hotel Argjiro is located in a beautiful historical building, full of rich history. We had high expectations for this hotel based on reviews and friendly communication and high level of service whilst booking via email. Unfortunately upon arrival, the staff didn't help with luggage nor did we receive the warm greeting we were hoping for, but just asked for passports and were given our key to find our room. We felt the hotel lacked warmth from the staff and there was no atmosphere. The rooms were spacious enough and well furnished with comfortable beds. The room did have a beautiful terrace that overlooked the bazaar. We chose a room overlooking the bazaar which was beautiful, although if you are a light sleeper you may want to opt for another room, due to the barking dogs all night long. The breakfast was quite a spread, unfortunately, it missed the mark for us and some of the dishes were served cold when should have been hot. Not the usual quality we have become to enjoy in Albania. The restaurant is hidden away at the back of the hotel, with no windows or view, so the ambiance is cold. We decided to reduce our stay and move to the new Hotel Fantasy which ticked all our boxes from luxury accommodation, cuisine, and the warmest and friendliest staff, you are also spoilt with the most breathtaking views of the mountains and the Castle of Gjirokastra.

The hotel is well located and very clean. Unfortunately, the rooms and the bathroom are very small. The breakfast room is windowless and lacks charm. The beautiful terrace is not used. Most TV channels from the list have no reception. The fire emergency exit on the second floor is locked.

Beautiful modern hotel in a lovely historic building only a few feet from the Old Bazaar. The double room is very spacious and my room offered a great view over the Ottoman-era rooftops of the town. Breakfast was included with my booking and it was amazing with a big selection of hot and cold food on offer. You'll love your stay here!

Visited in December 2022. The location is awesome, close to the Gjirokaster city center. Breakfast was nice too with a variety of spread. The room that we received initially had water leak from the ceiling. The staff gladly put us in another room. Family Room (2 bedroom) is great if traveling with kids. There was some construction work happening outside which prevented vehicles from reaching near the hotel. It would have been good if the hotel had informed us in advance. Caution: Vehicles are not allowed in the city center due to tourism regulations. Driving with Google Map is disastrous. There are barricades which arent reflected in Google Map. Better to check with the hotel reception.

The family room type was very very small, for us as a couple and a child, furthermore the bed for us as a couple was separate, so if you are claustrofobic or even a normal person, i don't recommend this place. Specifically not room 109, and furthermore the price was expensive. The staf said to me like this room were all the family rooms, i guess they lied.

The most uncomfortable location, no parking, no lugguage service and reception staff very proud... Rooms are very small just for one person, not for a couple. I don't recommended at all.

When you pay almost 300 e for two night and eat cold eggs and old pastry at breakfast, heater doesn t work u have to put an extra blanket when you sleep, no hot water at showers and ur charged in leke even if the pos accepts euro just to make a little more cash from ur guestst u failed as a business. We moved next day to other hotel and for the lower price we got a huge hot room with a wonderful view …. I don t reccomend, the only good thing with this hotel is that is very central and staff are nice, the rest horrible

Always a pleasure staying here. Fast check in, comfortable although small rooms, staff very friendly and always there to support you. Location is perfect if you want to walk to the old part of the town. Breakfast with a lot of variety. I recommend it to all.

Hotel Argjiro is a fine choice in Gjirokaster. Helpful staff and a superior location within easy walking distance of the bazaar, restaurants and the castle. The room I had was small, pleasant and very clean. There was a safe and mini-fridge. A TV, also, that I did not use. Very nice to have a hot water kettle to make coffee in the morning. There is a patio on the 2nd floor which was a very nice place to relax. The breakfast was excellent. Wifi worked well throughout my 3 night stay. I was in room 204, which has a window that opens to the patio, if that is a concern for anyone. I only opened it if I was in the room. There was another window in the room and one in the bathroom so ventilation was not a problem and I always felt safe.

Amazing amazing people! Orest is the sweetest and very very polite. We've been very happy with this hotel because of Orest. He made everything easy for us and he speaks great English so it was very comfortable talking with him. He told us about local areas and was always ready to help. Also, this place serves the best breakfast we've ever had in they whole Albania!! So much food and everything fresh and delicious!! I rarely give 5 stars but we had the best experience here! The hotel window had amazing views!

The service, after reporting four times, was not able to explain the fact that the air conditioning in the room was not working properly. I have been notified that the cooling is only down to 25 degrees which in itself is strange. The room temperature was still 30 degrees Celsius. The rest without the slightest complaint, but this fact itself has a very negative impact on the comfort of stay at temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius outside. Edit: During the night, when the air conditioning was on, the room temperature dropped to 28 from 30 degrees.

The hotel is very nice e and comfortable and the manager very kind to find for you what you're looking for. The breakfast was amazing : homemade marmelade, honey best quality, homemade pancakes, mountain tea and fresh fruits. Bravo to the manager Piro for the quality of his service and his kindness.

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. We stayed in the rooftop cabin for 4 nights and were extremely happy with it. Ample room for our family of three (and there is also a fold out sofa if needed). The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very fancy hotel. Luxury rooms. Parking was not available due to construction but we parked near the castle a street higher then the hotel. Breakfast was good, a lot of choice. Beds were very comfortable!

My sister and I went around Albania for 10 days and this is one of the best hotels we stayed in. It is really well located in the bazar. The rooms are absolutely stunning and spotless - we felt like Ottoman royals! The owners and the staff are really nice and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. We would recommend you ask for their incredible ice coffee!
