Loved staying here! It is a beautiful restored traditional house right next to the Old Town pedestrian street. The views from the terrace are incredible and they will even serve you breakfast there! It was the best breakfast I had while in Albania - definitely try the scrambled eggs. The staff were wonderful, so welcoming and accommodating, ready to provide you recommendations for restaurants, bars, sites etc. Lovely rooms with historical touches and all modern amenities. Finding the place was a little tricky given the town is on a steep hill, but follow the brown signs with Kalemi Hotel 2 and you will find it no problem! Don’t use Google Maps, it takes you a very scary weird way! I would absolutely stay again and recommend the place to anyone looking to stay in Gjirokaster!

My parents stayed here on holiday and I kindly asked the team to help me with a surprise for them. They responded right away and did a great job. In addition, my parents had a wonderful stay 👏🏻

Very nice location close to the biggest attractions of the city: the old bazaar and the castle. The breakfast is a typical Albanian breakfast. The rooms are spacious and have well functioning air condition Parking is also available, which is very rare in this UNESCO protected city. Rooms were a bit noisy due to the nightlife

Whenever I have been in Gjirokastra, I have stayed at Kalemi 2 and the service has always stayed very good. Clean and comfortable rooms following a traditional style, a friendly service and very good breakfast.

The building is beautiful both inside and outside. The rooms are comfortable and the views are incredible. But what makes it stand out is the hotel staff, ready to go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Thank you!!!

This cozy hotel is perfectly located just steps from shops and restaurants and is just a block away from the center of the bazar. The rooms maintain a traditional style with updated bathrooms an an in-room mini fridge. There are views of the castle and the clocktower from the restaurant on the first floor as well as the 3rd floor terrace. The staff were friendly and hospitable. Perhaps the best part about my stay was the complimentary breakfast, which included a platter of olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and cheeses, a small bowl of watermelon, a small bowl of petulla (which were soooooo good; I asked for the recipe), sliced bread and fig jam, a carafe of orange juice, and a pot of mountain tea. If I'm ever in Gjirokaster again, I will certainly stay at one of the Kalemi Hotels!

A good friend of mine from Gjirokastra highly recommended Kalemi 2 so I decided to go there this summer with a big group of people coming from US and Italy. I called them to book the rooms and the lady was very polite and she offered me a price in ALL we agreed on. The location is super and the hotel was quite good but the service and communication not at all. At check out the receptionist charged us the amount in Euro, which makes a difference and we felt cheated. She didn't even care about the fact that we had agreed on another price, saying that she doesn't believe that her colleague gave us that price and pretended she couldn't get her on the phone. We had no time and will to argue, so we paid the price and left, but that was really a bad feeling and everybody in the group was really unhappy. I don't think any of us will stay there again, since behavior and communication is one of the most important things.

Noisy as hell - between a bar with outdoor speakers and another with several outdoor speakers. Thump thump thump until midnight Asked for a quieter room, was accommodated- just as loud. Room much smaller but was charged for the suite we booked. Charged extra for paying with credit card Hotel clerk fat shamed me and then fat shamed my wife. There are other places to stay in the old town

On our trip to Gjirokastra we stayed at the Kalemi 2 hotel. It was a beautiful place, the room made you fly back to the Ottoman era. The breakfast and the kindness the greatest. Thanks to Fiola and all the team.

Spent two nights here at the Kalemi 2 Hotel, and I was very glad I chose this place!! The position is great … in the old town and near the castle … walk to everything. The service was super helpful and informative. I highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast that was included was amazing! Thank you!

Came here in Feb 2022. Which was off season, so the hotel had very few guests. (Which we loved) Pricing is incredibly affordable for what you get. The staff were amazing. When we arrived, the girl working reception took us on a tour of the hotel to all the different rooms as no other guests were currently there. The coffered ceilings are different in each room. The location to other attractions is superb. The views from the terrace are amazing. The staff very inviting. Each morning we had an amazing breakfast to fuel us for the day of hiking around the Oldtown and to the castle and ottoman brige. . (They have something like a beignets which are awesome!) Can't really say enough good stuff about our stay here. We will definitely return

I can't say enough good things. The room was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was far enough from the bazaar to be quiet, but still close. The breakfast was great.

What a special experience. I’ve never in my years of traveling been met with better, more welcoming, accommodating service than at the Kalemi 2. From the moment we pulled into town, they were all so wonderful and helpful. The hotel itself is convenient to the Bazaar and old town, and walkable to the castle. It is very comfortable and clean, but basic. Breakfast was large and tasty. Note, if you’re driving, ask for directions ahead of time and note that it’s a very steep, cobblestoned climb. Enjoy!

We visited Gjirokaster a historical city protected by Unesco. As a hotel we chose something traditional and analogous to the history of the city. We chose Kalemi 2. A hotel housed in a 300 year old stone building, restored with respect to tradition. It is located in the heart of the old town and has stunning views of the castle. Our room, 202, was spacious and traditionally decorated, with a wooden floor and ceiling and a view of the castle. Breakfast was served and consisted of delicious, fresh, local produce and was plentiful. The wifi worked perfectly. I left last the staff for which I have only superfluous comments to make. From the owner, the manager, the reception and the rest of the staff, always with kindness and a smile, they tried to serve and make our stay enjoyable. In a technical problem with my car, the manager, the owner's son, was personally involved to find a technician, spending his time. Thanks again. On our next visit Gjirokaster, which gave us the best picture of the country and its inhabitants, if we change hotel it will be to try Kalemi3. A hotel, just next door, in the same style that for 5 years is being restored with respect piece by piece

Positioned at the top of the hill, with breathtaking views of the valley and the 1500 years castle, this vintage looking building offers you the luxury of a 4 star hotel. Awesome customer service, and proximity to street market where you can grab some of the best souveniers for your loved ones. Stop by at Kodra Restaurant & Bar for a drink. I would certainly choose no other place in Gjirokastra.

4.5 stars. We liked to stay at this place! Perfect view, clean bedsheets, our room didn’t smell bad or like smoke, the hotel had an authentic look, and kept the style of the town. Breakfast was included, WiFi worked pretty well! They allowed us to use their downstairs fridge to keep a box that didn’t fit in our room fridge. We met the owner who was working there at the moment and had a nice conversation about his country and economy. But the shower was dirty. It had mold in the cracks of tiles and hasn’t been cleaned for some time.

It was a great stay in the hotel Kalemi 2. Everything is authentic created and decorated. The rooms are cozy - even with nice wodden ceiling - and as well traditionally equipped - with modern staff like refrigerator, A/C and TV. Super friendly and supportive staff. The breakfast is rich and tasty. And - just some steps to the old center of Gjirokastra. We will come back!!

What an amazing hotel! The rooms are very clean, the breakfast was amazing, and the staff were the friendliest and most hardworking people we have ever seen. It is such a unique hotel and the view is breathtaking. Definitely recommending to choose a room with the castle view. Also, it is very quiet and the walking distance to the village’s centre was only two minutes away. I recommend to whoever visits Gjirokastra to book a room at this amazing establishment!

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is really nice and accommodating. Our rooms were great with many luxuries that other hotels wouldn’t have. The only gripe that I have with this location is the parking situation. There was little or no room to park and the spots that were available were in an inconvenient location. The directions to get to this location were also incorrect on google maps and it led us down a path that was inaccessible for a vehicle
