Breakfast and great coffe with local cake in lovely Café Glockenspiel on Mozartplatz. It is excellent place to grab a hot drink during winter day out. There was also open winter ice skating ring on Motzartplatz. Salzburg is always on our list of places to visit during the winter skiing trips and we can highly recomended it. We are very happy whenever we can come back here.

A beautiful small square that includes a Mozart statue. In December, also includes an ice rink. There’s not much more to say - worth the 30 second look if nearby.

A number of visits at different times of the year but the Christmas Market is magical.

A nice spot near the historic centre of Salzburg. We had several pleasant visits to the glockenspiel cafe, adjacent to the large square. The statue of Mozart was a favourite rallying place for protests, so it is quite noisy from time to time - we never felt at risk of being caught up in protests as such.

The historic square is close to all the main Salzburg attractions and within walking distance of train station and main car park. Don't forget to pose with Amadeus! 😊 Nearby attractions include Mozart's house (where he composed many of his work, not where he was born) and the Salzburg fortress.

Beautiful square with Mozart statue. Around the square the town is charming with a spectacular fountain and other squares. Around this beautiful street with restaurants.

As Mozart fan I have enjoyed visiting his birthplace and have a closer look at his life together with his family.

The weather was really bad with heavy rain. Places around are quite expensive. If you want to have muled wine and/or hot dog - cash only

It’s a nice historical monument and there’s plenty to do around it.

Recommend to visit in late afternoon to avoid the crowd.

Naturally a very heavily touristed place in Salzburg's Old Town, even in the rain, the throngs of tourists only marginally detracted from the charm of this medieval city.

Wonderful spot to relax. Plenty of benches. A few shops and restaurants are available right around it. Of course you don’t want to miss your picture with Mozart.

It rained hard when we went. I think we could have eaten a cardboard box and still enjoyed this beautiful square! We had some finger-food at MUS, and we'll, it was just AWESOME!! Couldn't have chosen a better place to spend a rainy evening in Salzburg!!

Beautiful old buildings around Mozarts statue. It's nice to visit but because it's raining that day we did not enjoy as much. Most of the caffès closed because of the bad weather

Large square located in the Old Town, with a Mozart statue in the middle. There's a variety of restaurants and coffee shops lining one side of the square. Good to stop over there while walking on the Old Town if it's on the way, but otherwise probably not worth the detour.

Took a tour of this area which we felt was the best way to see and really know and understand this area and know the people of history of this area. Lots of history...lots of places to eat...lots of places to shop. Highly recommended.

We went the first week of December before covid. The Christmas market was great but cold once the sun went down. The ice skating rink was a nice touch for the market with hot drinks available right there to warm up after. Krampus is a thing in this town I was not expecting. Try the chocolate shops, pastry shops and this tiny shop that sells a huge variety of preserves. The sausages in town are a must also. There is so much in this little town and its sooo beautiful. We didn’t have time to see everything in one day on a tour.

Relaxing on a Sunday. Lots of cafés around.

We come here every year at Christmas time. Every year the city can surprise with something New. The ice skating rink is great for everyone. The place is beautiful even in summer, pleasant and always has something to offer. In winter, however, there is also a very great stand with absolutely breathtaking punch.
