Arrived early, around 10am due to early morning flight and although check in isn't until 3pm reception staff were really helpful. We dropped our bags off at reception and told to go and help ourselves to breakfast, which was a lovely bonus! Around 11.30 our room was ready, another bonus!! Check in very easy and given two key cards. Our room was absolutely lovely, very clean with hairdryer, iron, ironing board. Tea, coffee making facilities and air conditioning . Hotel is situated fairly close to all attractions and most within walking distance. Breakfast is lovely with plenty of choice to suit everyone's needs. This is a lovely clean, friendly place to stay and will definitely be going back.

Our room was lovely, and very affordable. The shower was very big, and the granite tops of the bathroom counter was a nice touch. Lots of choice for breakfast, hot or cold. Very helpful staff (I left my phone in the room when we checked out and they were only too happy to retrieve it for me). There was a comfortable relaxing chair with footstool, and an office-style chair at the dressing table which was far more comfortable than the generic chairs I've had in other hotels. Kettle, hairdryer, ironing board and iron, telephone, TV - very pleasant experience.

Not worth the money and I don't get why this get 4 or 5 stars from some people. The rooms are very dusty and warm. When you leave your phone on the table for half an hour there is a layer of dust on it. The entire hotel is smelly because it's not possible to open a window anywhere. The bed sheets contained blood stains. The showers don't get warm and it's so poorly designed that you can't hang up your towels properly anywhere. There is no proper shower screen, so the water is all over the floor. The breakfast is the most terrible experience I've ever had in an hotel. The place is so crowded in the morning you'll immediately get stressed when waking up. People are crawling everywhere fighting for a spot. The food is all from instant packages. This place is way to small for so many people.

Excellent central location with parking. Staff were friendly helpful and professional. Hotel had a very warm feeling on arrival. Rooms were exceptionally well appointed for a budget hotel with tea making facilities iron/board and quality bathroom amenities. Bathroom was a good size with large walk-in shower. Breakfast was very good with a really good selection of hot and cold food. Would definitely stay again.

After a long journey by train, followed by another 30-minute hike across Edinburgh, my family was warmly greeted at reception by Claire. She quickly checked us in, assisted with dinner arrangements and provided recommendations for sights to see there in Edinburgh. The hotel was tidy and nicely decorated. Beds were a bit firm for my liking, especially after days of traveling and sightseeing, but not at all a major issue. Breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious, offering both light bites, breads, cereals, and fruits; and more traditional hearty fully fry up fare like sausages, potatoes, beans, eggs, and the like. Seating was sufficient as well with plenty of space for guests to gather and fuel up ahead of their day out. The wait staff was cheerful and engaging and even as they cleared the tables the had smiles on their faces and gleams in their eyes. All in all very pleasant. After checkout, which was also very conveniently handled through the Hilton app, we realized only on the train ride home, we had left one of our local treasures behind, and called the hotel for assistance. Once again, Claire managed to coordinate its safe return via post and was dutiful and thorough in calling to make arrangements and ensure everything was okay. Although, the location is a “wee” bit far on foot from Edinburgh’s largest attractions (20-30 mins on foot to Edinburgh Castle), I would definitely stay here again; the value, hospitality, comfort, and overall quality of service we experienced during our time here is well worth the few extra steps!

The room is comfortable for 2 people. The personnel are nice and helpful. A shout out to Angelo, who helps during breakfast. Good breakfast. Excellent location, a walk distance to the city centre. The cleaness of the room could be better. We stayed a week. They have changed the towels and linen but never vacuum the room. Another point, if they have a way to hang the towels to allow them to dry, it would be possible to reuse them. All in all, I recommend this hotel.

A fantastic hotel with a great breakfast buffet. Stayed here for a total of 3 nights and the bed was very comfortable. Shower was nice along with great selection of soaps. About a 10 minute journey by tram into Edinburgh centre. If you're fit enough you can walk to the centre in 20. Nice selection of nearby restaurants too.

Hotel in a fairly good location, Edinburgh's old town is only a few minutes' walk away. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, the staff is very helpful and welcoming. A very good restaurant is accessible from the hotel lobby (Sofia). Only one (and big) problem, the breakfast is totally unworthy of a hotel of this standard. The coffee is absolutely undrinkable, you have to pay for a £3 coffee at reception if you want something decent. The breakfast choice is not very varied, the bread is of poor quality, the fruit juices are only syrups mixed with water, and many other things. In summary, the hotel is really very good but don't take the breakfast option, it's better not to eat anything...

Avoid this hotel at all cost , front desk staff that I encountered were rude , smug , unhelpful . When I hand the luggage tag to another front desk staff that is not attending any guest to retrieve my luggage from the luggage room behind front desk , she made no attempt to take the tag , she waited until I’m done with check in , then she said , “now you can get the bag yourself , she opened the luggage room door, stood aside , gesturing me to find my own bag , didn’t even bother to check if the luggage tag matched. The bed is messily made , pillows were not completely inside the pillow cases, one pillow case is inside out . Bathroom floor is dirty , there’s a few string of hair on the corner , after the room was made up the next day , the hairs were still there . Towels seems dirty . There’s no face towels , only one face towels . I’m truly Sorry for the young female staff that first received me , she deserved a five stars for her hospitalities and professionalism . I arrived before check in time , she helped stored my luggage , gave me transport info and tourist info with a sweet smile and cheerful attitude . But I’m afraid it’s all downhill from there .

We had a 3 night stay in 2 rooms. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the furniture was new and modern. The hotel new and in a developing part of town a few minutes walk from Haymarket and the Grass market. We parked in the hotel car which has about 30 secure spaces. The breakfast was better than we expected, with lots of choice and the children loved the waffle irons. The staff were absolutely lovely. They were very helpful, and so welcoming to us and especially our disabled son. Claire at the front desk, and Angelo in the breakfast room made such a fuss of him and made him smile every day. Couldn't really fault the hotel. Would happily visit again.

The hotel is in a convenient location and walking distance to amenities and attractions. The reception staff were very efficient. The rooms are fine, just standard and clean nothing special but generally good and what you would expect.

Very small rooms. No storage for suitcases. No wash cloths, but had great big towels. Shower had a half door that was curved so water tended to get out on to the floor. The shower water didn’t get very hot, so if you like a nice hot shower, this won’t cut it. I found it weird that there was no plug in bathroom to blow dry hair! Had to use their blow-drier in bed area. Cleaning was lack and we had to get toilet paper refills ourselves. Positive side, great breakfast and great taxi system ( push button and wait about 5 min)! They lacked on being able to communicate the bus system and which busses to take. Was able to walk to old town, about 20-25 min, restaurants are in the area. Electricity runs off your key card. Took us awhile to get that situated as well as AC.

Great hotel! Very nice rooms, roomy beds, AMAZING breakfasts and all the staff were so lovely. Close walking to all sorts of places, food, laundromats whatever you need. Highly recommend!

It was nice stay with delicious breakfast but…. You have to pay for parking 15.50£ for day! Ridiculous During our stay nobody cleaned the floor in our room. We have small baby and she eats every little piece of food etc which she founds on the floor. Bathroom was not so clean. Just look at the photos:) I give it 4 stars because it was good besides these things which I mentioned

Lovely, clean room, location just a 15-20 minute walk away from the castle and the city centre or 5-10 bus ride from a stop just a few minutes walk from the hotel, single fare capped at £2 per journey. Breakfast offered a good choice of options and all staff were extremely friendly and courteous, a credit to their employer, thanks for a lovely stay.

Had a really nice time staying here for the Edinburgh half-marathon. The room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent. Location perfect, a 15 minute stroll to the castle. What made it such a nice stay was the staff. They were so polite and helpful and did everything they could to make our stay special and nothing was too much trouble. They were a credit to the hotel. If I had to find anything negative I think a small fridge in the bedroom would be a good idea

Great value for money, room was quiet and clean. Reception was very nice, ordered some food and cocktails from downstairs restaurant - also very decent (would order again). Breakfast could be more adventurous but it was included in cost, so cannot really knock it as everywhere else it would be an extra. A bit of a walk to all main places, which we didn’t mind as we like walking, but not as central as some might like.

We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days in December 2022. We were surprised at how big the room was. The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast was good. They had their signature waffle maker where you can make your waffle just like the other Hampton by Hilton hotels in other countries. Hampton by Hilton always brings great service during all of our stays. They never fail to impress us.

What a lovely hotel. From the minute we arrived, to the minute we left, the staff were helpful and polite. Adam at the reception was courteous and we even managed to check-in 2 hours early. Breakfast in the morning was lovely. Our room was spacious and clean. The shower was fantastic, I particularly liked the shower head. It was so simple to change the settings, from rainfall to invigorating. All the toiletries smelled divine. If I'm back in Edinburgh, I know where I'll be staying. Thanks

Stayed here last week for a small hen do. The staff could not have done enough for you. They were so attentive and made the stay very special. The rooms were lovely. House keeping were excellent, reception was excellent, breakfast was excellent. Didn't try the restaurant but I'm sure it was amazing. They made a hen very special! Great location and close to everything.

Great place to stay when visiting Edinburgh. People are very welcoming. Tasty unlimited breakfast 😋. My only issue is their pillows are waaay too soft for proper neck support. Had to stack 3 pillows to get a semi comfortable head support.

Do not stay here if your looking for Air Conditioning. They have set up the rooms so you cannot cool it below 74 degrees. No windows open. Often it was cooler outside then in the room. We stayed 3 nights, it was brutal. This is a modern building with modern equipment, the owners have chosen to set up the system this way. Also no alarm clock, or microwave in room. If you read my other reviews, I rarely, extremely rarely, complain about anything. There were other issues as well. On the other hand, staff was very good,

I stayed at the Hampton for 1 night as part of my stay in Edinburgh. The room was nice and staff was courteous. The location is good. This hotel is not located in the middle of the tourist area and doesn't have great views, but you don't pay for those at this hotel. One thing the Hampton had that I missed at my next hotel was air conditioning. It wasn't real hot in Edinburgh, but the air really helped me be more comfortable and sleep well at the Hampton.

Stayed with family. Nice accommodation, breakfast good but no change in menu-same items on all four days of our stay. And, they don’t have a luggage trolley/carrier-just in case you are carrying more pieces of luggage. Limited public transport through the area. But many good restaurants nearby

Fantastic hotel, perfect location, and well-suited to our travel needs. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and the staff was top-notch. As a Diamond member, I stay in many Hilton properties in the U.S., and they'd do well to spend a week at this establishment to see how a hotel should be run. Will definitely return next time I'm in Edinburgh.

Great place to stay in the city of Edinburgh. It’s about a 20 minute walk to Edinburgh castle. The rooms are very nice and decent size. The bathroom is great with everything you need. It’s brand new so everything is clean and sparking. The breakfast are excellent with many options. Very friendly and accommodating. Parking is inconvenient but you really don’t need a car here as Uber has excellent service.

Great breakfast and wifi usage close to shops and entertainment retail park. Staff polite and friendly. Downside is towels are too rough and toilet paper too rough. In our room we had dirty bed linen. Great bus links to & from hotel. Parking is a nightmare though especially for those that aren’t local and expensive if you are staying 4+ days. Taxi drivers are friendly though & cheaper than at home. Overall it wasn’t a bad trip just little niggles that could have been better.

A little walk from the town centre too far with cases I would say. I had requested a cot in the room which was not done when arrived but they had one up within the hour which was fantastic. Breakfast was good. We went down at 0900 which was a very busy time however lots of tables and food plentiful. Room was immaculate. Will stay again 100%

Got checked in early with a friendly team at the front desk. Got a round of drinks in and the bar staff gave a free drink to the stag in our group. Clean rooms, exactly what you expect. Comfortable bed as well. Breakfast was well stocked and a good range of hot and cold options.

All staff were polite and welcoming. Breakfast was good had loads of different options. Due to covid rooms weren’t clean every day however if you asked they would have a cleaner come in for you and also provide you with fresh towels etc. really good price and not far walk to get to everything which was good. The only down fall was the shower head would not stay up and kept falling off due to it being to heavy which caused issues. Also the beds weren’t comfy very hard mattresses but lovely pillows. Overall good stay!

Location is reasonably good - we were able to walk to the centre of the city without problem. Breakfast is really good - plenty of choice, comfortable tables. Bar is good. Rooms are much better than expected - clean, comfortable, tea and coffee, TV. Personnel is very professional, helpful and polite, thank you!

Lovely clean room. Bed was comfortable. The heating let it down slightly, would have been nicer if it was just a little warmer but on the whole very happy with it. Very close to the centre and all the attractions and there is a bus stop across the road if you don't want to walk or use your car. Would stay again
