This is now our favourite campsite the scenery and views are second to none. Lovely friendly staff and the site is exceptionally clean. If we had to pick a fault it would be that the site could benefit from another shower and toilet block especially down at tent field but other than that We loved our stay here and would definitely come back and recommend to fellow campers it’s a thumbs up from us.

Brilliant site and would highly recommend. Popped in after 7pm hoping for a pitch and they had a list on reception door as to which pitches still available, saying to pitch and pay in morn, which is amazing for travellers like ourselves that sometimes don't want to be restricted by times etc. Site is beautifully kept and perfect facilities. Had a lovely walk down towards the castle. Thank you xx

Bonnie campsite lovely clean and well kept. The only flaw is the distance from the tents to the toilets it’s a fair walk. The rest of the campsite is full of self sufficient caravans so it makes no sense that the people with tents have to walk so far. We enjoyed our stay however and would probably use this site again.

Nice location although it would have been nice to be able to see the castle from the campsite, as it’s owned by the same people. Our pitch was a bit noisy as it was just the other side of a wall next to a main road. It was also under a tree, so not only couldn’t we get a decent TV signal; the noise of the tree kept us awake on the breezy night we had. The shower blocks were fairly clean, although the three men’s showers could do with some attention - one had a choice of freezing cold or scalding hot, and the other two had problems with the ‘risers’, so it was difficult to position the shower head correctly. Very poor / unusable wi-fi. Good facilities including a washing up area, with bowls provided, and a wind up hose pipe for topping up your water (not just a tap!)

We had a lovely quiet stay at Thirlestane Castle, lovely clean toilets and showers and nice walks for the dog. We stayed mid week so site was very quiet as it seems to be mainly seasonal pitches of which only a few were staying at the time. Suited our needs perfectly

A pleasant open site with a scattering of trees that allow views in all directions. It's a lovely setting. Caravans are well spaced and easy access for setting up. It's a pity it's not open in winter! The toilet block and facilities are decent and kept clean. It's early September and we've not had to queue for the toilets/ showers although there's potential for queueing at busy times as only 3 showers in both male and female washrooms. The wifi isn't up too much and kept dropping out every few minutes but 4g data signal was fine on Vodafone and BT sims. At the bottom of the site there's access to Thirlstane Castle drive that gives access to walks suitable for dogs and the castle itself. If you drop onto the drive and head toward the Castle there's a 'cross road'. Turn right and head toward a bridge at the bottom. Just before the bridge go through a 5 bar gate on the left and you're on the "Lauder Loop" walk made up of mown grass walkways along the riverside and a gravelled road at the town end. This takes about 35 mins from the site to the town near the Co-op. We've really enjoyed staying here and found it a good area for visiting historic sites in all directions.
