It’s unlike a lot of Glasgow pubs these days. Genuinely feels like stepping back in time. Lots of brass, wood and nooks and crannies with low ceilings and historic memorabilia. Friendly service and good music. One to tick off your list or introduce visitors to

This place is absolutely amazing. Really good vibe, the staff and the clientele was so welcoming. The variety of whisky available was astounding. Highly recommend if ever you’re in Glasgow. As I discovered it is the oldest serving pub in Glasgow…

The oldest pub in Glasgow with lots of history. The staff were very friendly and the ambiance was great even it was super busy when we were there. They offered good variety of beers and other drinks. Really enjoyed it.

We had the best time at The Scotia when we visited in April! The Scottish Ale was fantastic and we even learned how and what whisky to drink! We will definitely return the next time we’re in Glasgow!

Glasgow's oldest pub! We had the best experience with live music, looking at old photos of the city and well preserved structure. The crowd was a true testament of the legacy behind this spot. Super recommend!

We went to The Scotia as my wife is an avid Taggart fan, and I must admit, so am I, but she has a better memory than myself and she said it had been in some of the episodes. The atmosphere was great and the bar staff very welcoming. It also has a very musical leaning which we loved also. Being the oldest pub in Glasgow, the historical aspect was also fascinating. The menu was limited, and we didn't eat, but it looked good. The locals were very friendly, and there were a cross section of nationalities forging the hands across the sea network. We sat next to two Belgian ladies also a party from Rumania, and some very jolly Glaswegian gentlemen whom I surmised had sampled a few of the local tipples. All in all, a very entertaining couple of visits and we will recommend it to our friends and English country folk.

Great little bar, places to sit along the bar and a few tables along the edges, the spots fill up fast so if you get there when it’s busy you might be standing. There are loads of ales to try and it gives a nice warm vibes with all the money hanging from the ceiling, we went on the evening and there was some amazing live music to fill the air. Watch your head if you’re over 6 foot because the ceiling beams are a bit low in spots. We grabbed a pizza while we were there to have something to eat while we drank and it was delicious, there were 3 different types to pizzas to choose from and it was about 8-10 slices total.

Great bar.. oldest in Glasgow, too.. friendly engaging staff. We called at lunchtime and had a few delicious pints of Guinness and listened to the bar music, which was a mixture of 60s/70s rock, etc. Then came back for the early evening session with live music.. friendly staff and customers.. loved it, and we will see you again.

Cute little old traditional pub down by the river. This place is a little bit out of the way but a nice little space to stop for a quick drink. It is very old inside which you can tell from the building, decor and unfortunately the slightly damp musky smell. Nevertheless the staff were really friendly and the drinks were fine so nothing to really complain about

This is a historic iconic Glasgow landmark, no mistake about it. Not the best place for me personally. Walking in feels like going below decks in an 18th century royal navy man o' war. Low roofed, stifling claustrophobic atmosphere. Only a singular opinion .Many, love it. Famous for live music, never understood why as musicians are grossly underpaid. Once the favourite pub of Comedian Billy Connolly, in his bygone alcohol daze days when he regularly played pool upstairs with various folk heroes and many other Glasgow characters. Part of the never ending confusion over what is Glasgow's oldest pub debate. Also a tourist haunt. Sorry i didn't take any photos.

Popped in for one before going to a festival. Drinks reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly. There was also live music. If you want a seat get there early.

This pub was a staple for my friends and I on a weekend night. Friends from Colorado (where I now live) visited by chance since it was close to their hotel. Some of my best memories of Glasgow come from weekend nights in this truly authentic "Glasgow hospitality" bar. Nights in the snug with a couple of guitars and a fiddle singing songs and meeting new friends. We took 2 colleagues from Rome here and they said it was their favorite place. My friends brought me back a t-shirt, which is now my prized possession. I love this place and highly recommend anyone visiting to experience this it.

Every time we travel to Glasgow and go here, it never disappoints. Has to be up there with one of the best bars in Glasgow? Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely love this old style bar, with it's low ceilings and exposed beams. Staff are friendly and they have good selection of drinks. Music at the weekend is cool, quirkey and very enjoyable! 🇮🇪💚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

One place we never miss on a visit to Glasgow. Glasgow's oldest pub with low ceiling has a great atmosphere. Mainstream and craft beers available and regular music in the evening. Pool hall upstairs for those who enjoy that.

Absolutely amazing atmosphere. Met Julia and Charlie, a French couple and they had us signing all night. Arrived back at the hotel very drunk but euphoric. Think it was only a Wednesday night as well.

In all of my traveling, this has to be one of my top three favorite pubs. The staff were super friendly and helpful. This is a locals pub which is what I loved about it. Local musicians, local poets and local stories. Say hello to Graham, Allen, William and Annie. Tell them Heath and Chelsea sent you

I've been wandering around Glasgow for the better part of the day and I came to this pub all by accident. Turns out its the oldest pub in Glasgow. But I had to come back in 24 hours for my ale to properly settle I was told. Great musician. Nice atmosphere. Thanks.

In this brilliant wee pub last Sunday. I don't know why I've never been in it, because I loved it. It was like walking in to an old pirate ship, low roof with beams. You can definitely sense the history of the pub, Great bar service and all round brilliant atmosphere. Will absolutely be back.
