I have never before seen so many out of stock items on a menu! We had booked the meal when we stopped in for a drink in the afternoon. My wife fancied a steak, and I fancied the Steak pie. Neither available !At no point, either on booking or at arrival later were we alerted to out of stock issues. The staff were OK, this is a Management issue- customers accept out of stock issues, but it it BASIC customer service to alert us up front, and the whole team needs to be on top of this!

Been visiting every now and then over the past few years and have always had an enjoyable experience - good food, variety of drinks and helpful staff. It's also more spacious than other pubs in the area

Nice pub with good food and board games! It is absolutely huge inside, lots of seatings and good food! The crofter’s pie was delicious, my friends enjoyed their steak pie and burgers as well. The sticky toffee pudding is great, the pulled pork chips are tasty. They have a good selections of drinks too. The best part is that they have quite a few board games to choose from so you can enjoy food as well as games with your friends! Nice service as well !

Nice atmosphere, great food and drink selection, I only had a small issue with one order that I was charged more for a different meal than what I ordered, they have informed me that I will be refunded, otherwise really cool place and the surrounding is even nicer

Awful food. Almost inedible. We had to get Gregg's sausage rolls for the kids as the food was so bad.

Where do I start, from walking through the door I fell in love with the place. It felt so comfortable and the staff extended a very warm welcome! It was hard to choose what to have as all the meals look delicious but being a Sunday I decided to go for the traditional Sunday lunch. Ordered a beef dinner and was not disappointed when it arrived, the service was quick and effortless. The food was delicious and the portions were generous, very well priced and I would have no problem recommending to anyone. 10/10 from me!

Hadn't been here for years, came in for lunch with friends. Couldn't believe some of the prices for main dishes and burgers. I had a side of Mac n Cheese which was the smallest portion for £4.50, looked like I had around 20 pieces of pasta absolutely ridiculous portion size. It did taste nice but not enough for the money paid. I also had the Skin on Fries, decent portion size but the fries were too crispy which wasn't nice to eat. It's also very dark and gloomy inside no character, definitely gone down hill and the rest of the menu I thought was far too expensive Wouldn't recommend

Just had an amazing veggie Sunday lunch here. The nut roast was amazing, the gravy the veg, all delicious. Got a great beer pairing recommendation too! Great experience overall

Cozy old pub, with good food and drink

The food was very good. Unfortunately all the beers ran out at the same time. Some of the other customers were a bit noisy and the music was quite loud, so not great for chatting in a group. Staff were lovely.

Works Christmas night out. The general feeling was that the buffet was overpriced and not the most appetising.

Very enjoyable food and drink, lovely atmosphere and dog-friendly to boot. Been here a few times and never had a complaint - although a larger rum selection would make it perfect!

It's a great pub and the cask beer is very well kept. The Stewart Brewing Scottish Heavy was very good. Chicken burger was perfectly cooked. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I wish they had more cask, then again cask isn't as big in Scotland as it is in Yorkshire!

Food was Ok but service was poor. Far too many staff congregating, chatting and socialising at the end of the bar. With plenty of other pubs, diners and restaurants in the area I see no reason to return.

Had the Sunday roast chicken, my friend also ordered it but only 10 minutes after paying did they tell us they only had one. Lucky that she opted for something else though, as the chicken was not great. It was dry, hard, stale, bloody and mostly bones. The vegetables were old and soggy. My friend enjoyed her leek pie though and apparently they have really good apple pie. The roast chicken was pretty expensive, they also upcharged for it when I went to pay. The staff are pretty friendly.

We arrived here for an after dinner drink on a Sunday around 7.30pmish. I asked for an Irish coffee to be told that they had switched the coffee machine! Anyway we stayed and had a drink and it was quite quiet. I was quite surprised at not getting an Irish coffee considering they usually serve food here. I do like this pub and hope it was just a hiccup with the person that served us at the bar.

Went here after my kids commencement from University of Glasgow. Nice pub with very good food. I had the Steak & Nicholson's Pale Ale pie. Delicious - tender beef, gravy, mashed potatoes and carrots (with other veg) that were the best I've ever had. The place is huge and the servers are very nice.

The pub was constructed from two cottages. One large room. Five real ales on all good. Wonderful atmosphere. Staff excellent.

Great atmosphere and a beautiful pub with good service. Drinks are slightly above an expensive pub's prices. We were going to have dinner but after we ordered some sides of chips and Halloumi fries it was clear we'd still be hungry no matter what we ordered. £5 for a side of "thrice cooked" chips (they are basically Tesco frozen fries) and you could count them (see pic). The £6 Halloumi fries were bigger but you still felt shortchanged with the portion. If you can't get chips right then I can't justify ordering a main for £15-20. Just go for a drink if you find yourself here.

Had the smallest bowl of chips ever for a fiver! 🤣 I ate them before I thought to take a photo so you’ll just need to guess from the size of the fork.

Oh dear whatever happened to our beloved Curlers Rest. It used to be a favourite of mine but the prices are getting ridiculous. I'm going to post a picture of the fish supper I got for over £15... you can actually count the chips. I'm not going back, that's me done with CR. I understand the whole cost of living thing bla bla bla but throw some potatoes on the fish supper guys cmon are you serious? Haha 😄 check the photo!!

The food was fantastic! I really recommend the bangers and mash, it sounds simple but the gravy was to die for

Went for lunch with classmates. Paid a five or six pounds for a tin of microwaved Heinz / or similar soup. Everybody else was pretty disappointed with their food too. This was last year, but reading from the comments it hasn’t improved much. Such a shame, if there was a little love put into what is done there it could be a cracking pub.

Always a good visit. The food is nice though a bit on the pricey side. They have a good selections of drinks and food and atmosphere is usually great.

Great wee pub, but n the middle of the trendy/hip WestEnd and where it fits in well, it also feels very authentic without needing to try too hard. Great pint of Guinness. Only neg was we ordered some nachos but they were a) cold and b) the extra for meat was a disappointing 1 forkful on the side.

Nice menu, expensive and my pie arrived without crust or pastry, basically just stew in a dish. Nice but not £15 nice. I liked the beers, decor lovely. Busy wee pub.

On arrival we were met by a member of staff who showed us to our table. We were informed that it was table service. We ordered our drinks, food a few minutes later. The sausage and mash was very tasty 3 good sized pork and haggis sausages with a good helping of mash potato and gravy. The curlers burger was also fantastic. 2 flame grilled burgers with bacon and cheese with a side of fries and onion rings. Afterwards we tried the sticky toffee pudding. One was with ice cream the other with custard. Have to say it was fantastic. I would come back to the curlers rest again and again.

Visited teatime Monday 03/08/20 for dinner, a party of three including a 76 year old, a 62 year old and and a 30 year old. Did not have a reservation. Roughly 8 tables occupied at the time. Were advised by a young server that the only tables available were the high tables. Thinking that we must be lucky to have a table we accepted. 76 year old perched on a bar stool. The place was emptier when we left than when we arrived. We could have had a table each. I chose the fish sharing starter platter £16.00 prawns in marie rose sauce had never seen worcester sauce or cayenne pepper soggy fish goujons. EVEN WORSE couldn't attract staff attention as they congregated and chatted at the end of the bar with a gentleman who was breaking the current law of drinking at the bar (assuming it was a member of staff) No masks worn at any time? Worst example of post lockdown yet.

Had a wonderful time here earlier this evening. We popped in for a pint as it's our first day living in the west end of Glasgow. It was also our first time going to the pub since the COVID outbreak. A tallish ginger staff member greeted us and was really great - he had really good knowledge of what was on offer and offered us a really lovely table by the window. Everything felt really safe and hygienic and definitely made us feel comfortable drinking there. The place also has a beautiful rustic feel and is very well decorated. Would highly recommend - we'll definitely be back.

Went for Sunday Lunch. I know it has rave reviews but I would say just decent pub grub. The pork belly I had was not nice, skin soft and fat nasty and tasteless. But good veg well cooked and nice dessert. Wife had fish and chips and said good fish but poor batter. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Just don't expect too much

Good atmosphere, pleasant service but it took a while for food to arrive. ..and it was relatively expensive. £14 for a burger is not going to attract many people for lunch. On the plus side, food allergies are well catered for.

Curlers' Rest. One of the oldest bars on Byres Road, this pub does what it says on the tin. Staff are attentive and friendly and there is plenty of comfortable seating. Prices are reasonable. Use to be very much a students bar and still is to some extent given proximity to Glasgow University, but weekends see a very mixed clientele. Good food. Well worth a visit.

The staff in Curler's were absolutely superb on Saturday!!! We were a large group, ordering large numbers of drinks and meals - and we were so well looked after!! The beer is great (lots of choice - particularly for the ale drinkers) and the food was hot and really tasty. Every question we had got a helpful answer, every request was welcomed and dealt with. Fair enough, the TV signal wasn't great upstairs, but it was good enough (and outside their control). A great day out - we'll be back!!! Thanks!
