I had a really interesting meal here! The tofu fish and chips was amazing, and I totally recommend it. The vegan “cheese” cake was really cool: I’d split it between two next time though. The only issue I had was service: once it got busy it was a bit tricky to get a new drinks order in.

The food here is incredible, generous portion sizes and great flavour however the service needs improving. All the servers were friendly but when taking our order we requested starters and then mains. About 15-20 minutes after our order was taken, our mains arrived but we did not have our starters yet so we requested our starter. The server didn't really know what to do and just said 'oh well we have no hot plates to keep your food warm' before eventually saying they will nerd to speak to the manager. The manager then had to check our order as the server had put the starters through as side dishes. Once that had all been sorted we then had to wait a further 15-20 for our starters arrived so we had already been there over an hour before the first course was served. Once we had finished our starters, it was as if we had been forgotten about as it took a further 45 minutes for our mains to arrive so over 2 hours from arriving and we had only just received our mains. Lastly once we had finished our mains, no one came to serve us to check if we wanted desserts of the bill, we waited half an hour and eventually asked the waiter at the bar for the bill. There were only 2 of us dining and we only had 2 courses but the whole process took nearly 3 hours so it just seemed really unorganised which is a shame as the food really was great!

We ate lunch outside on a Tuesday - it was relatively busy outside but I can’t comment on inside. The service was quite quick but the food took about 40 mins to arrive - not ideal when one of us was on a work lunch break. The Reuben sandwich and to-fish tacos were enjoyed. The Mac cheese was ok - fake cheese shouldn’t be grilled though, see the photo - and the MFC was a good portion size. For £50, we got 2 sides, 2 mains, a wine and a half pint - for that, I felt slightly underwhelmed. That said, it’s a good option for vegans and veggies - but I don’t personally understand the hype and all the amazing reviews.

Burger and haggis burger were the best I've had in a while. Large place with ample space, OK vibes and service. Cute record shop inside. Only complaint would be the homemade fries, tasty but not so crispy and quite dense. 10/10 recommend, would come again!

Welcoming & nice staff, lovely atmosphere, food was absolutely amazing and it totally breaks my stereotype of vegan food. However one thing need to mention that this pub is quite popular, so it might take a bit longer to serve your food.

Good value vegan cafe serving main meals as well as small plates and starters. The beetroot and 'feta' salad was tasty and a good portion size for £6. Lots of spaced out tables though this did mean it wasn't that cosy. Also my soy milk curdled in my coffee but that's my fault for not choosing oat milk.

When in the morning the staff was lovely 5 ⭐ for them, But came back at night time for the gig the member bar staff was rubbish and rude behaviour, got the ticket for £26 but left just 10 minutes after, online said the door open 7pm but the door actually opened at 8pm and still the band wasn't ready. He (that bar staff) spoil my night, i never think that Glasgow had such a rude person like him, what a waste of money.

Absolutely delicious!! I got the Mac and Cheese with vegan Haggis on top and was completely blown away by how amazing it tasted! As a vegan I have never tried meat haggis so had no idea what to expect, but being in Scotland when I realized I could get a vegan version I knew I needed to try it and omg was I not disappointed. The whole menu is vegan and so I tried a few other things as well, but the vegan Haggis Mac and Cheese was definitely my favorite (I might just go back tomorrow and order the same thing it was so good 😋). 100% recommend this restaurant to any vegans/vegetarians looking for delicious and relatively affordable food in Glasgow!

Have not been here for a long time so decided to swing by for a quick snack and pint, good vegan options and reasonable selection of beverages, although they were out of couple of items from the menu but not a big deal. Staff seemed that they could not be bothered at all (well, one of those Sundays) so instead of checking on us after solid long wait we have resorted to pay at the bar and off we were. I wish I could give 4 stars but attentive staff is bread and butter of every good pub/bar/restaurant and that is exactly what is lagging behind at Mono.

Made a beeline here for the tofish and chips for lunch and were not disappointed. Love a fully vegan restaurant and inclusive space. Really friendly staff, great venue. There are books to read, art exhibitions on the walls, a record shop and live music in the evening. Food was great (we ordered a pizza to takeaway and stash in the hotel for post gig munchies). The music was fun, although apart from the parents of those playing we were the oldest there (my partner is 35, I'm 46). Was like being at a student night again but way less messy than years before, didn't feel like anyone apart from the parents were drinking. This suited me fine and my partner had a few pints of the local brew. Buy tickets for gigs in advance as a little more on the door (bit annoying we weren't told this as did ask if it was worth buying in advance). And needed cash so had to take a short walk to withdraw. Dazed & Confused were the absolute highlight of the night, would definitely see them again Will hopefully be back to sample more of the menu as making another trip to Glasgow in a few weeks

Super nice place to sit and eat something nice with a cold beer and relax, the atmosphere was perfect, there’s a record shop inside and a small gallery ☺️

Incredible vibe, super friendly service and my god the food! I can't wait to visit again next time I'm down their way! The record shop within is also a huge bonus, difficult to keep your money when they have such well priced vinyls.

  • 2/5 Ramon G. 2 years ago on Google
I wish I could sincerely rate this place higher. The crust on the pizza I had was tasty, their aesthetic is nice, and it's a convenient location. The low rating is absolutely based on the service. Throughout the night once our table's bottle of water was empty no one offered to replace it even as it was placed at the end of the table. We didn't ask either so that could be on us. The staff rarely checked in on our table. So little that we had to go to the bar to order drinks for the tables. This would all be acceptable and less annoying if it wasn't for the fact that when I looked up at the counter there was an employ with his head on his arms at the bar top with another employ just chatting away with him. I get that sometimes we're tired but this looked more like boredom than exhaustion. The final straw was when asking for our bill they said they would not split it more than 3 ways and they had forgotten to include the £50 they had taken for the reservation. So if I was willing to patron this place again takeaway I believe would be the best option.

Nice vegan restaurant. It has a very extensive menu with a varied selection of cold & warm dishes. It's decorated with modern art pieces and has a nice chill laidback atmosphere. Despite the service being very kind and not pushy, we had to wait to be seated for more than half an hour and for a very long time for our food to come out. It's a bit expensive as well. Recommended vegan or not, but only if you have plenty of time. 3'5/5

Really lovely vegan place. I've been twice and both times I went in with quite the appetite after a long spurt of running errands nearby and it was just what I needed. Delicious food, freshly made, nice chill atmosphere. Only taking a star off because it's usually a bit of a wait for food or for staff to wait on your table but I'd guess they could have just been understaffed when I was in.

One of the first vegan places in Glasgow, it's also one of the most popular ones - no wonder why. Great place with a great atmosphere. 100% vegan, friendly staff and toothsome food. A must.

I’ve been away from Glasgow for a few years and was delighted to get along to Mono for some vegan scran last week. Pleased to say it’s still delivering the goods! I couldn’t make my mind up if I wanted the good old mac n cheeze or to try the plant based black pudding, so I asked nicely and the chef whipped me up both in one dish – it was tremendous! Highly recommend. Always great when the kitchen is happy to accommodate your mad requests with some tasty tucker.

Fantastic vegan food! My daughter had a great beet and “feta” cheese salad. It was really nice. My son had a huge serving of Mac and cheese, and my husband and I had the arancini balls. Delicious! Even a non vegan would have been happy eating here! I totally recommend Mono

I dined there on Sunday on a trip to Glasgow. Food was absolutely delicious. I was the only vegan in a group of 4 but all the meat eaters were very impressed too. There was a nice atmosphere. Staff were friendly and professional. My only issue with the place, is that it's not in Kent. Would definitely go there again

Was here a few days ago with my partner. First impressions were excellent; inside atmosphere is lovely. Feels nice and airy without feeling cold. The menu offers a good range of options and ordering at the bar is a refreshing change. I had the macaroni cheese and my partner had the seitan burger and we shared a side of garlic bread. Now I should preface that we've never dined vegan before this, at least not intentionally anyway, but seriously, this was incredible. The food both looked and tasted great and was very filling. Particularly recommend their chips which come with some of their dishes: crispy, skin-on greatness! Overall this was a fantastic experience and we will 100% be back! (Oh and also, as someone who is non-cisgender, the gender neutral bathrooms are VERY MUCH APPRECIATED <3)

Came in for a date with myself and brought a book to stay a while, staff were lovely, pleased the menu was fully vegan I ordered the salmon cream cheese bagel. Was so delicious I couldn’t believe it. It’s not for the faint hearted the flavour was really powerful. The bagel itself might have been homemade? Really soft and lovely. I followed it up with a hot chocolate that was also top notch. Would recommend.

I got vegan tacos and it was really delicious, plus the staff is nice and the place's vibe is great, a must in Glasgow out of the crowd

I went on a hot, sunny day so outside was packed, but inside was fairly quiet, but cool. I kept it simple with the quarter pounder and a margherita. The burger might not have been the most aesthetic but it was very delicious along with the chips. The pavlova looked great but was a bit overpriced for what you get. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, a very nice place and would come again.

Fantastic vegan Mac n cheese I always get the mini version as it’s still a lot of food but I can’t eat adult sized meals my fiancé can and he got the pizza which he enjoyed! He’s had the burger from here before as well. Nice friendly staff. However it does always take a while to get the bill whenever we visit here which can be annoying when you have somewhere to be but apart from that this place is amazing for vegan food and whenever I visit I still come here

Very easy to park and we really enjoyed our food, we ordered a Wild Mushroom and truffle pizza , Kofte Kebab and the famous Mac and cheese for our 14 month old son and he also loved his food. * Staff were absolutely great and very welcoming, however they were short staffed and the cafe was very busy. There were only 2 people members of staffs dealing with at least 30 customers, which we felt sorry for them hence why you lost a 🌟. *The desert was ABIT of let down. They barely had anything available to try but we found something else in the end to order and it was really good. We would definitely recommend this, as the food and service were great.

Great place for vegan dishes. Nice space for larger groups, especially inside. Good tunes. Good beers. The staff are a bit up in themselves, but if you can ignore the low-key snobbery, it's a great spot.

The music was nice, it was a little bit cold, it didn't seem to have heating. In general a chilled place with many options to eat and drink. Mono is open all day. Overall I would recommend Mono!

All vegan restaurant and bar with a good selection for food and drinks. The staff are friendly and happy to help. The food way FANTASTIC, with a good range of items to chose from on the menu. The kinds are on the pricy side, on par with more city central venues, but not extortionate. It's an LGBTQIA+/Queer friendly space without being an exclusive queer space. Includes gender neutral toilets.

  • 5/5 Paul D. 8 months ago on Google
A very good choice of food, all Vegan so no need to interagate the waiter. The beer is excellent too. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars for service is the second course was a bit slow in coming. My wife has been before and she said last time it was far more busy and the service was faster. The waiter was a very friendly chap and did appogise for the wait. Would I go again? Absolutely.

First time dining in a vegan Restaurant, and I love it!! The best dish will be under my opinion the coconut curry, with vegetables & chickpeas. We also ordered pizza with haggis, mushroom pate, and another dish (I can't recall the name) but this was gnocchis with mushrooms and vegan pork, really nice. The only cons was the dessert, we ordered the fudge sundae, and I didn't like it much. But overall it's 100% recommended, nice atmosphere, cute place, often live music and tasty dishes. Will defo go again

I very much appreciate a vegetarian venue! The food was good quality and they have some interesting combinations. However the place was nearly empty yet we waited about half an hour for the food which is too long really. I'd probably go back to try it again, though there are lots of great food places in Glasgow I would still want to try out first. Great for veggies with plenty of time on their hands!

Vegan food was top notch. Can recommend the celeriac schnitzel and the fish and chips -- tartare sauce was awesome. Puddings were great and any meat eater wouldn't believe they didn't contain animal produce. Looks like they do regular live music which is par for bars and restaurants in this area of Glasgow anyway. Unisex toilets a plus. Service friendly enough but they were understaffed when we ate. Beer and wine selection the only let down.
