My
experience
at
Slug
and
Lettuce
(Vincent
St,
Glasgow)
was
severely
disappointing.
Firstly
upon
booking,
a
£20
deposit
was
taken
from
my
account.
It
had
seemed
as
though
£20
would
only
be
deducted
from
my
account
if
and
when
I
did
not
show
up
for
my
booking
or
if
I
had
cancelled
too
late.
Instead,
this
non-refundable
deposit
was
taken
upon
booking.
I
find
this
to
be
frustrating,
as
I
believe
a
deposit
should
be
taken
if
the
booking
is
cancelled
last
minute
or
the
person
does
not
show
up.
This
is
personal
opinion,
however
I
still
want
to
address
this
in
my
review.
Upon
arrival,
there
was
no
one
to
greet
us
at
the
door.
This
was
strange
as
at
most
restaurants
there
is
a
member
of
staff
waiting
to
greet
you
and
show
you
to
your
table.
Instead,
a
large
group
arrived
at
the
restaurant
and
none
of
us
knew
where
to
go
or
where
to
stand
to
await
a
member
of
staff.
Eventually,
after
some
time
we
were
shown
to
our
table.
We
were
seated
directly
next
to
another
couple
which
was
slightly
uncomfortable
as
we
were
extremely
close.
Upon
ordering
food,
I
was
not
too
impressed
however
it
was
reasonably
priced.
My
partner
ordered
a
steak
salad,
however
the
steak,
although
tasty
was
cold.
There
were
also
no
staff
available
to
ask
for
condiments.
There
was
no
salt/pepper
or
vinegar
at
the
table
and
it
was
difficult
to
track
down
staff
to
ask
for
some.
This
was
due
to
the
fact
that
staff
members
were
casually
dressed,
and
it
was
hard
to
distinguish
between
staff
members
and
customers
at
the
restaurant.
I
then
ordered
a
cocktail,
advertised
with
a
heart
shaped
lollipop
(this
cocktail
was
£11.25
I
believe).
As
seen
in
the
photos
I
have
attached,
the
lollipop
came
broken.
I
asked
for
a
new
one,
which
again
came
to
the
table
broken.
When
attending
the
toilet,
there
was
a
lack
of
toilet
roll
in
the
cubicles,
toilets
were
not
frequently
attended
to
and
checked
by
staff.
Upon
trying
to
get
my
£20
refund
back,
a
staff
member
advised
to
ask
the
bar
staff
to
refund
it.
My
partner
and
I
stood
at
the
bar
for
over
5
minutes,
the
staff
behind
the
bar
ignored
us
as
we
stood
there
waiting
to
be
spoken
to.
After
some
time,
one
staff
member
eventually
said
‘bar
service
is
down
that
way’.
In
my
opinion
this
was
severely
rude
as
we
had
already
been
standing
there
for
minutes
before
being
acknowledged,
only
to
be
told
we
were
standing
in
the
wrong
place.
We
then
moved
to
the
other
side
of
the
bar
where
we
stood
for
another
5
minutes.
Eventually,
I
spoke
to
a
member
of
staff
to
ask
for
my
£20
deposit
back.
She
asked
me
to
write
my
name
and
time
of
booking
on
a
piece
of
paper
so
that
my
refund
could
be
processed.
It
seems
as
though
this
note
did
not
reach
the
right
place
because
even
after
a
whole
week
later,
I
still
had
not
received
my
refund.
I
then
had
to
call
Slug
and
Lettuce
customer
service
and
only
then
was
my
refund
processed.
It
seems
as
though
the
franchise
rely
on
people
forgetting
to
ask
for
their
refund
back,
so
that
they
can
keep
your
money.
Given
how
difficult
it
was
for
me
to
get
my
deposit
back,
I
assume
many
other
customers
wouldn’t
pursue
this
process.
Overall,
the
experience
was
poor
and
I
would
not
recommend
this
particular
restaurant
to
any
of
my
friends,
nor
would
I
go
back.
This
restaurant
did
not
live
up
to
the
countless
good
reviews
it
has,
at
least
not
in
my
experience.
