I really liked this place. It's nice, cosy and well decorated on the inside. The food was very well presented and most importantly was delicious. I tried the gnocchi and I have to say it was something else, would highly recommend. Shrimp Mac n cheese was average. The staff were delightful and made the whole experience better. Great stuff. Given the prices though I would expect nothing less - it's all rather expensive.

The food was quite tasty but the portions were small, in my opinion. So, I think it is slightly overpriced for what you get (I might just be biased though as I haven't been to many seafood restaurants in the UK). The table was sticky, which gave the impression it hadn't been cleaned properly. The atmosphere of the place was quite nice though, and the staff was friendly.

I got to celebrate my birthday at The Finnieston and had an absolutely incredible dining experience. First I should emphasise that you need to get a reservation. Even if you think it's going to be a slow day or want to try your luck, eat your pride and reserve the table. We watched lots of people get very sadly turned away. Also, this place is dog friendly so bring your well behaved companion for other customers to baby talk to. The service here was so good. I was torn between different dishes and the server very kindly suggested an off the menu seafood platter. It had everything I was wanting to try from the entrees, but on a platter. The portion was incredibly generous for myself and my partner and the accompanying chips were fried perfectly. We also got a spiced Panna Cotta which was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the cocktail selection. We'll definitely be back and The Finnieston has a permanent spot on my list of recommendations for visitors.

Two yrs review It was delicious 😍 2021 Longed for fresh local produce seafood. Very impressed with the scallops and lobster £20. Like the fact that they stated the price of the lobster on the menu and give us some idea of the cost. Mussels were huge !!! You can tell the experience of the chef, no over cooking !! Lobster also cooked to perfection with making it too dry and gummy. My only disappointment was the oysters. Have to say one of the oyster was so small that I thought it was a leftover. Otherwise, the environment , interior deco and hygiene standard was great ! We enjoyed the meal so much !!! Thank you 2022.... A year later we went back. More disappointment than enjoyment. The 1/2 lobster was £14 MORE expensive than last year !! (It is delicious but I would recommend to serve w a sharper knife). The lobster macaroni was totally overpriced like a microwave macaroni cheese with 2 mouthfuls of lobster for £24 !! The crème brulée was not v smooth, good taste, but not quite even in temperature. Haddock fish and chips was a bit bland and dry. The fish batter was a bit soggy. Oysters were tiny and thin (probably due to the warm weather). Some potato chips was under cooked.

If you are a wine lover and at the same time you appreciate fresh seafood, then this is the place for you! The menu includes everything from mussels and oysters to crabs and steak! We had the monkfish scampi and the mixed seafood fritti. Both delicious and filling! Prices are reasonable and the service is efficient! The decor is cozy with beautiful sealings. We will be back!

Amazing oysters and fish & chips. I came on a Sunday evening, and the service was prompt. Our waitress was attentive, kind and made us feel welcome. Would go again.

The best oysters I've had in a long time, with an option new to me: smoked salt dribble with Johnnie Walker (the single malt, not the blend). I'll never go back to mignonette or lemon! Terrific win selection, too. Informed, attentive service. My only complaint: the music was DISCO, and it was way too loud! When will managers understand that diners want to hear one another and not get up and dance? For that, I'd limit my rating to four stars, but the food was too good.

A fantastic seafood experience with outstanding and friendly service to boot! Portions were great, and fairly priced considering the high standard of cuisine on offer. The Finnieston is a comfortable leather bound experience that is warm, welcoming and filled with a sense of classic style, while having all the modern finishings of the present day dining experience. Our particular visit also featured an eclectic mix of weekend holidaymakers, business meetings, food fanatics and an already inclusive experience. A Top choice for seafood in Glasgow.

Lovely seafood gastropub with the most amazing staff. I had the best time. Their daily specials are generous and cheap for the amazing quality. Everything was delicious and the gin selection is on point

Great quality good portions and dog friendly what more could you ask for?? In case you do bring your dog, the rat traps are humane. Which can make them rather tasty for your dog should they go hunting under your chairs

Popped in for a few drinks but ended up only having on due to being ignoredby the staff. The space to sit and have a drink is super limited and, inspite of the fact most "food tables" were empty, there wasn't an option to sit at one of them (they were more comfy and a little off the main thoroughfare and away from the door etc) with the caveat of only having x amount of time or moving if it got busy. The drink selection is good with a wide variety of spirits on offer as well as a good range of beers on tap including some brewed locally which I like. The Finnieston is known for its martinis and having had them before I have enjoyed them so I wanted to bring my partner in to sample them as well. The drinks we had were nice and the Monster Munch martini was a fun and quirky take on the Gibson (I prefer the normal Gibson though I must admit) and the classic martini was wonderful. We wanted another drink but were continually ignored inspite of having made eye contact with the waitress several times and even done that thing where you smile and open your mouth to start talking only to have her walk away without acknowledging us in any way while avoiding further eye contact... We even sat our empty glasses in full view in an effort to have them come over and offer another drink but this too proved unsuccessful. Eventually we gave up and decided to go elsewhere and actually had to go chasing them to get the bill... Needless to say they were over pretty much instantly with the card reader....... Not a great experience which is a real shame as we'd been looking forward to going in. Last time i was there was for an event in the bar upstairs and it was brilliant but this wasn't good.

This was the first place I visited when I moved to Glasgow a year ago. It is our favourite place to catch up with friends since then. The food is really good and I'm really missing their bay leaf elderflower gin on these cold October nights. Can't wait for them to reopen so we can visit again. If someone ever asks me to recommend a good gastropub in Glasgow this is the place to go.

Second time at The Finnieston, this time for lunch. Staff are excellent but overall really disappointed in the quality and pricing of the menu. Seafood tacos were lacking in taste and mussels were average for the price sadly. I'm sure the menu has some better options but both visits for me have been disappointing. My advice is to only go for the hits and ask for the wine menu before ordering to not get a surprise on the bill!

Was a very nice and trendy west end bar, however was just filthy. When I'm able to scrape my name into a mucky bar, it's beyond classy. Serves food apparently, if this is the standard, then good luck, hope you have a strong stumoch.

Such fantastic friendly service. Booking recommended. Lobster cooked to perfection could have eaten the whole meal again it was so good. Had delicious fresh oysters and grilled langoustinos which were on the small side but beautifully cooked. Shame I didn't take pics as the presentation was very well done. Not too pricey either. £47 for all that is very affordable. I'll be back soon definitely. There is a garden and people did walk ins for drinks. They politely requested to take your temperature which I think is wise.

Booked here for dinner when visiting the Hydro for a show. It was clear they were not prepared for it because it took half an hour to get our cocktails, another half an hour to get starters and another twenty minutes to get mains so we were rushing a bit at the end. The staff were slow ( i imagine because of how busy they were ) but very pleasant, they definitely rushed our main course out which was why it only took twenty minutes i think! Food was nice, the seafood bisque starter was great and the monkfish scampi was good too but nothing mind-blowing. Would visit an additional time when not in a rush but not a great visit for us unfortunately.

Wondered into this beautiful venue a week ago. We were promptly seated in a small nook near to the kitchen. The decor is beautiful with a great nautical vibe. Ordered the olives and sourdough for starters - delish, as well as a pot of mussels - good, but felt something was missing from the sauce.. My partner ordered the haddock for mains - excellent. I had the fish and chips - good, but would have personally preferred a crisper thinner batter. The wee cocktail was most enjoyed by my partner, excellent quality. The service from start to finish was great, lovely server. All in all, a good night out.

Nice staff but it’s really expensive for super small portions !! What you see in the picture (the two tiny scallops) were 18£ ! I’m still hungry we had to go to Mac Donald’s… oops… *Edit : I wrote the above review when I was hungry but I now understand the pricing better, thanks for taking the time to answer !

My god the food here was amazing. My dad and I got the shellfish platter for 2. We came here after having some disappointing sushi earlier. I think we would have polished off that platter if we didn't go to the sushi place.

Absolutely one of the best seafood restaurants in Glasgow. Really cosy atmosphere and very friendly staff. There's an open fire in one corner which is perfect on a winter's night. The menu has a small but wide selection that doesn't feel overly fussy. The mussels portion is very generous for a starter! Cocktails are incredible, with one of the nicest whisky based cocktails 'Penecilin' being a must try.

Nice wee pub, serves food and good selection of alcohol. Bar service a bit slow though appear to have table service which held up bar tenders serving bar customers. Background music which does not effect you trying to having conversation ?Would revisit if in the area again.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of seafood but my husband is and he really enjoyed this place. Personally I loved the interior, the staff and the overall vibe; I was sad that the weather was too cold to enjoy it, but it looks like they have an amazing back patio too!

Atmosphere good. Lovely roaring fire. Fish and chips were superb. Saturday night it was loud so if you prefer a quieter venue choose another day or evening. Took our well behaved dog along as dog friendly. No doggy treats like some other restaurants. All in all nice place to try.

Very beautiful cosy place with marine theme objects all around since it s a mostly fish, seafood restaurant, but with meat and veg options.warm welcome and we got taken to our table a nice and comfy booth for me and my date.the server i believe introduced herself as Kim was very professional explain us all the specials without been too long but just on the spot.Unfortunately they were out of scallops but not to worry there s plenty else to choose from,,I went for meat my companion for fish.everything was cooked to perfection from starter to main. Fish was absolutely super fresh, and the desserts well prepared. There s a decent selection of wines and spirits ,the total: hey you pay for what you eat , money well spent, the only negative of the evening : Irish coffe very weak didn't t really the coffe in it ,otherwise was a 5 star to me .we definitely go back.
