Was so looking forward to lunch with my friend who had never visited October before, the decor and setting is beautiful and I was pleased she was impressed. However lunch was way off the mark in comparison to what I had previously experienced, the chicken was very dry, the toasted focaccia bun was even dryer, too much rocket not enjoyable at all and left most of it. Very disappointed ! !

Terrible!! Went expecting a good cocktail, pretty decor nice location but ended up with ready mix margaritas…..so sweet & nothing like a margarita should be!! 🤮 Surely a 3 ingredient cocktail isn’t hard to put together October…??!??!! And please stop insulting your customers by charging cocktail prices for juice….!!!!

Nice bar very crowded. You will pay roughly what you would expect in such a place. There is not a lot of seating but service at the bar was pretty quick. Nice place to go for a few cocktails but did also have plenty choice in beers. You need to take the lift to get there I believe.

Me and my friend went for the “brunch beats and Bellinis” at October and it almost ruined our day. I phoned a few days before booking to check the gluten free options (maybe some gluten free bread) as the menu only had fritters and grenola (which I don’t eat) and they said that the chef would be able to make something for me instead. However when I got there they said that wasn’t possible and I couldn’t have the same deal if I wanted food off the other menu. Anyways the food was awful, either so dry or saturated in syrup. BEATS?? No beats couldn’t even hear music so there was no atmosphere at all. The place was like a sauna too. Service awful and the drinks took half an hour to come each time, we had to ask 3 times for a drink. If it wasn’t for the deal I thought was good I would have left after the first drink. We also heard the table next to us complain about the time it was taking too - even though it wasn’t that busy. When the drinks did come they were warm. Overall was an awful start to our day.

I booked the October Cafe as a venue to celebrate a family birthday, which included a party of 9, and I cannot praise this venue enough. We were lucky to have the booths in the terrace area which was an added bonus. Greig, one of the Managers, dealt with my booking and was extremely helpful with the arrangements, including making changes to a couple of the meal options due to dietary requirements. All guests complemented the venue, food and service. I would not hesitate to book the October Cafe again and look forward to another visit soon.

Lovely place and good music, but our experience was ruined due to rude and disorganised staff. Paid £150 for two cocktail trees, only one appeared. When questioned the manger accused us of lying. Overall very negative experience. Won’t be retuning.

We attended a works lunch, lovely decor and lighting but was just a shame that although rooftop seating we were in the area off the lift so people had to pass by all the time. And the 3 tables were organised so we were unable to sit together. There were 3 choices of dishes. The desert menu had berries in everything which I cannot eat so I asked for vanilla cheesecake without berries. Eventually after everyone else deserts coming out I had to remind them of mine. When it did come they gave me a Berry cheesecake which their reply was they ran out of the other one. So I was unable to eat it so sent it back. No apology even given I do feel sorry for the young waitress who looked like she was just bringing out what she was told. But was also charged for it anyway. Another colleague had ordered fish as a main and again they forgot about her dinner. They offered chips until she got her dinner but again had forgotten those as well. The communication between the staff and kitchen was shocking although I feel the errors that day came from the kitchen. The positive aspect of this would be the cocktails which were really nice but again at 9.50 each you would expect the best anyway. For the pricing I would expect much more from this place.

Cocktails were nice, food was mediocre at best and the service was pretty poor including waiting staff basically throwing drinks and food down on the table and walking away. Disappointing

Extremely quiet for a Friday night, only 4 or 5 tables were occupied. Staff couldn't provide a baby guiness, espresso martini, whisky sour or amaretto sour - even though they had all the products necessary to make these drinks. I had booked the prosecop pachakge but this was not on offer so again i had to ask for this to be remobed from the bill. Having paid a £20 deposit to secure the booking - this was not automatically removed from our bill and had to be specifaically requested. Not impressed. Won't be back.

Must have changed ownership recently. Wait staff didn't know answers to any questions and were all quote young and inexperienced. Service was really slow. Food was passable but portions were like kiddie size and we were all hungry when we left. Music was so loud it felt like we were in a bar rather than a restaurant at 2pm on a Saturday.

  • 4/5 Eilidh M. 4 months ago on Google
Really lovely atmosphere and very photogenic bar/restaurant in Princes Square. Drinks are reasonably priced and the interiors are very beautiful. The music was loud so definitely better for drinks than dinner in the evening. The food here is fine but the drinks and vibes are the main attraction.

Came here for the £25 brunch deal which is good value for money. The food portions were on the smaller side but was very tasty. Cocktails were good however there was just really long waits after ordering drinks which dampened the whole experience. Maybe order all your drinks at the beginning and you will be fine

A great evening, spent a bit of time walking about decided to pop up for a drink. Ended up staying for a few hours getting a great selection of drinks! Didn’t get to try the food but we’ll be back soon to give it a go, massive props to Liam what an amazing guy, felt so welcome and comfortable, he looked after us the whole time. Truly exceptional service! Thanks guys :)

Great food, tomato soup fab! but with the exception of young blonde waitress that was waiting our table on 12/03/20, staff lazy. Restaurant really quiet that particular Thursday evening and we sat with empty dirty glass around us all night. (We moved them to empty table to allow some space). Service slow, had to go to bar to order drinks ourselves and found three member of staff standing with arms crossed ? .....bought another round of drinks, including bottle of Prosecco then given next to no time to drink it before told to move on as restaurant was closing.

I was in Glasgow on vacation and visited October a couple weeks ago and was truly disappointed in my experience. The place is beautiful, but the service was appalling. We were there for 25 Minutes, it wasn't busy, and no one served us. However, the server spent a good chunk of time chatting with with the table next to us, who he clearly knew. By the time we got our drinks (just 2) we had been there for 40 minutes. Considering the price they serve drinks at, the least they could do is provide proper customer service. Gin 71 is close by and is a way better establishment to spend your money at.

Went into October for a final beer before going home after a works night out. Worst decision ever. Was in the establishment for one drink and took my jacket off and placed it over the chair at our table for all of five minutes whereby it was stolen whilst we where still within the immediate vicinity?. Two other people also had their jackets taken from the same vicinity. The security and bar manager where of no assistance what so ever with the bar manager explaining how personal belongs where not their responability? I asked if security footage was available as it was a theft and again a blatant NO was the response. The theft aside, the bar itself was 95% male and a good percentage of those where either over 60 or total roasters. The female contingent where a small minority of what I can only call, loose women, who were making up the numbers. The tunes where old skool, mediocre dance which you couldn’t even dance to if you wanted to without your jacket being knocked!?! All in all a sit ending to a good night. Avoid at all costs and pick instead one of the many other late night bars in Glasgow.

My mother got a gift card for afternoon tea for her birthday went today wed 1st march they very kindly let us have afternoon tea at 12.30 instead of 2.30 due to my mums age a bit late 2.30 to go out. The afternoon tea was the worst i have ever had. The sandwiches didnt get offered what bread wanted it was on white bread and they must have had it lying about as bread was hard. There was 1 sandwich with tomatoe and a tiny bit of grated cheese about 6 bits of grated cheese. 1 sandwich was just coldslaw. 1 sandwich was tuna that tasted like paste and the other was some kind of chicken. These were finger sandwiches but as i say bread was hard from sitting out. The cakes were a peice of browney a fruit scone which had been flattened like a pancake and a dried up peice of carrot fruit cake. Did explain dont eat fruit asked for a plain scone dont have plain scones. Never once after served did anyone come ask is all ok ? Can i get you anything else ?Just completly ignored as it was a gift card they already had the money and the place was pretty empty so staff not really doing anything. The manager was on his laptop and when i stood at desk he came over i asked what do we do do we just leave as no one had come near us. We advised of our complaints and aparantly we owed £1.50 as the gift card only had £23.50 on it which was £17.50 for after noon tea and £6 fir a drink so my mum had a glass of red wine and i had a sparkling water as i dont drink but manager said sorry and waived the £1.50 but no offer to refund some of the gift card even though i advised couldnt eat sandwiches due to bread being left out and no cakes eaten by me at all. Just a cuppa tea. Disgusting service would never return. Avoid afternoon tea at october !!!

On arrival we were greeted in a very friendly manner. We were shown to our table and once seated at table our waitress Marissa was very attentive and took our food and drink order. Service was excellent as was our food. We were given enough time inbetween courses to enjoy and savour our food. We were made to feel very welcome. Marissa ensured that we were happy and enquired various times if we required any other drinks, overall making our dining experience a very pleasurable one. We wii return at a later date.

Very expensive, went there for drinks with the wife, felt like we were not welcome and felt like they couldn't wait to get rid of both of us to free the table! Not a pleasant experience, will not be returning!

The service I got today was horrendous. When I complained the bar tender answerd back. I have worked in a bank for years and have always been told that the customer is always right. There should have been more staff on as all bar staff were making cocktails for tables. We were going to stay for dinner and cocktails but with service like this no way discussed.
